So if he's really a slot then would his contract be a good gauge to see what Cooper will get? It's down the line but I'm curious about Cooper and Mitchell. Both are continuously improving so the contracts are likely only going to get bigger

Chiefs let mcduffie try to play more and more outside. He wasn’t as good. So I’m guessing part of this is they cashed out on having to pay a strictly slot corner when they feel they can find one in the draft. Maybe not as good as mcduffie but one that’s competent and use the capital to build up the other parts of the roster.

The eagles really haven’t used dejean on the outside and not nearly as much as the chiefs have the past 2 years. I think dejean also has more versatility than mcduffie cause i could see dejean being a safety, slot or outside corner

While he's better in the slot, bet on LA playing him outside and him demanding to be paid as a boundary corner.

Maybe mcduffie with the rams pass rush becomes a better outside corner. however i kind of think the chiefs besides money made a decision that they could probably find a competent slot corner and use the picks to find better outside corners

Giants missed out

Rapoport said McDuffie is likely to make more than $30.1M per year

Clark Hunt, emphasis on the second syllable

I mean, I get he'll try to be the highest paid guy. But paying him more than Sauce and Stingley...not sure I would do that.

Not sure what the Giants are doing. They are a rebuilding team, they're going to try to trade premium picks and pay a CB 30m per season?

Rams are all in, and going for one more Lombardi while Stafford is still playing well.

Should I worry about DeJean and Mitchell? How would Howie be able to pay 60+ million to 2 CBs?

No

The bolded are the question and the answer.

Very interesting. Wonder what their plan to replace him is...

Only $1.7mm in guaranteed money left ($6mm more would have become guaranteed on 3/13). $22.5 million each of the next 2 years for a 33 year old receiver would be a massive overpay. I wonder if he signs back there at a lower number.

Obviously, AJ is what everyone will land on. DJ Moore rumors floating around now too.

Diggs has legal issues coming up.

But, if they are trying to get AJ and hoping Howie will lower his price, well...this will cause the opposite.

Aren’t there rumours that he might be facing a ban? Maybe that’s not true but he’s certainly a problem type player so I’m not sure anyone is going to risk bringing him in at the moment? And yeah certainly not on that contract.

Would never happen but that would be a nice haul as i see the cardinals still being crap the next two years and get potential upside of MHJ

Hadn't heard that, but wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Wait - for Harrison and a 1st and a 2nd? I'd fly to Philly, pick up AJ and drive him to the airport myself.

Still couldn't work cap wise sadly.

Pats, your 2026 2nd and a 2027 1st gets it done!

Tbh i think the bills make a better partner. They were willing to trade a 2027 1st for waddle at the deadline last year. Dolphins wanted a 2026 1st. I think probably get something like that from them. Add on moving into new stadium so go all in

TIFWIW

I don't see them signing Becton. They have all 5 returning starters from last year, they need to get younger and guys on rookie deals. They should draft O line the next 2 years. (I think it's always a good idea to draft O line every year even if late round picks to develop anyway).
