I don’t usually get personal on here, but your post hit me. I’ve been where you are. I’ve had a couple suicide attempts in my past and spent time in inpatient treatment afterward. I’m still in therap

Weird to me when fans think sports journalists just make things up. I mean of course it happens and there’s always expectations but for the most part it’s normally worse than what it reported and not better. They only get the cleaned up after the fitting has died down version. 😄

I don't think journalists make things up. I do think journalists are manipulated and willing report information they know is suspect.

Also - F Vrabel - what a tool. F the Patriots and F their pedo freak owner - I hope AJ does go there and that overrated turd Maye pisses him off even more than Hurts did

I guess I still follow the outdated concept, that reporters should have a more neutral relationship (adversarial is a bit far) with management and players so that their work isn’t compromised. Then again, insiders or whatever Schefter is aren’t reporters - just pawns really.

That’s not outdated I agrwe

12 dudes in the last 30 years out of probably 10,000 drafted

Roughly 500-600 FCS dudes drafted the past 30 years from FCS. My list also didn't include names like

Walter Payton

Wentz
Steve McNair
Trey Lance
Phil Simms
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Leonard Smith

Grey Zabel
Trevor Penning
Our very own Lester Holmes

Our very own Jalyx Hunt
Cole Strange
Ryan Flournoy
Tucker Kraft
Christian Watson

Zyon McCollum

Spencer Brown

Jeremy Chinn

I'm sure there are a good amount more I'm missing

Also - I thought Russini was married to an Eagles fan? All his friends hated her or something like that.

I’m sure she also ventures to @hputenis furry parties

Dane Brugler’s draft guide dropped this morning. I love his work, but he listed 380 wide receivers. Why would he do this to himself?

Kraft will ship him to Asia in the same box his masseuse came in

I remember listening to a podcast with Bo Wulf and he had Russini on talking about breaking the AJ Brown trade. She said she was tipped off midday by a source. Vrabel was pissed off about the trade and it seems clear he was the one who leaked it to her.

He said he was high on this WR class

Definitely fair. I just think it’s odd for people to default to "it’s not as bad as they say” when most times in life it’s much worse than what is known. Especially in the work place.

Groan.

If the Eagles go OL in round 1 (I believe) the real question is, what’s more important?

Future good, solid starter at RT or future stud potential all-pro at RG. With new offensive regime, I’m not sure.

I'd go with the all pro but that's just me. Find a serviceable RT until you can find your all pro again

It impacts my perception of her bias. I am not sure it makes what she has reported less credible. I mean it's possible Vrabel is manipulating her to spread misinformation but my guess is that she is reporting on real information that is from Vrabel.

I think he definitely seems like someone who would try to capitalize on this type of situation on multiple levels. Maybe not outright false narratives, but heavily self-serving and influenced ones is probably more accurate.

OK, well, this is something. Let's try and deconstruct this:

  1. Please miss me with this was "innocent" or taken "out of context." They were at an adults only, couples resort that Vrabel had to drive over 100 miles out of his way to get to. They both claim other people were there, but...every witness says that is BS. Even if they aren't smashing and other people were there, it's still inappropriate and unethical for an NFL reporter to have a personal relationship with a coach close enough to vacation together. But let's be real - they are clearing having an affair. No moral judgment here, but this has larger implications.

  2. It's obvious now why DR was constantly pounding the AJ trade story - she was working to reduce the Eagles leverage and benefit the Pats. Now, do I think she invented the story that AJ is frustrated and may want a trade? No. Other viable reporters are on the story. And clearly the Eagles have entertained trade discussions. So it's not all invented. Was he knowingly working to benefit the Pats, or is she just a useful idiot? Doesn't really matter.

  3. However, the fact that she was actively working to play up the story and reduce Howie's leverage...that's a real problem. That's tantamount to Vrabel tampering with a player under contract with the Eagles. Howie/Jeffrey should demand an NFL investigation into tampering.

  4. The Athletic has to fire her - even if you say there was no romantic relationship, she is way beyond journalistic standards and has no credbility.

  5. Pats won't do anything to Vrabel. Think of who the owner is and what he's done.

I always wondered why Russini was really the only journalist who’s been pushing this AJ story harder than anyone over the months. Not to say that there isn’t any merit to it, but at least now we know why it was her.

The story that was published and the photos make me think one of their spouses hired a PI to investigate the possibility of an affair. I mean how many people are going to be at that type of resort and take these types of photos. This doesn't seem like a coincidental photo. Someone knew they would be there and wanted to catch them together. I doubt the NY Post is paying for a source to stay in a resort and to possibly take photos in the off chance they get a story.

Patriots coach, Mike Vrabel, and reporter Dianna Russini at Ambiente Sedona hotel, Arizona

I am sure the divorce announcement is coming soon. I don't know if her reports are tantamount to tampering. If she was relaying messages to AJ from Vrabel, that's a different story. As to the ethics issue with the NYT/Athletic, I am not sure they will fire her. Arguably a similar issue arose with Ali Watkins, a NYT political reporter, who had an affair with a US Senate Aide and reported on the CIA monitoring US Senate computers. She was not fired for that and is still with the Times.
