I think Clay is a league-average coordinator. This is fine.

The biggest ST question is how we replace Jake.

No. 2: Can we go ahead and have our best returner play all year?

You want Covey at KR?

My ideal scenario is cut Will Shipley and replace him with RB3 with KR skills.

The biggest ST question is how we replace Jake.

I would put him as better than league average. Who is blocking kicks like us? Our offense may not have been clutch this year, but our punting was.

Elliot started to suck and kick returns need to be better, but we’ve had a revolving door there for a bit; Howie needs to send him a bone

Overall, fix or get a new kicker and our ST’s are solid

I don’t care who it is as long as it’s our best returners playing. Xavier Gipson over Covey was brain dead.

Hard to judge ST coordinators, but they won 3 games this year because of blocked kicks. I think that speaks to preparation more than return ability which I consider more skill based. And the Eagles were good in punt coverage, Mann was good, they handled onsides kicks well. I'm fine with him staying. Just gives them one less coach to search for.

Big loss for Buffalo

If that were true, we would still be alive in the playoffs this year. Hurts showed 0 clutch this year.

Rams comeback game was the definition of clutch.

You made a point about QB contracts while your guy is a 75ish cap hit per year over the next 3 years.

You did not hit a nerve, You threw a softball and we hit it right back into your face.

Hurts has a 100m balloon payment in a void year in 2029. That's 4 years from now.

Do you have to be a PHI fan to make a negative comment about contracts here without getting flamed? Pretty sure I have read several instances of people here asking about trading or cutting AJ. I never even mentioned Hurts, you took a leap there along with a couple of other people. BTW AJ’s contract isn’t necessarily unfriendly unless you want him gone, and several of you guys do.

So yeh, I responded to a negative comment about Purdy’s contract, calling out the hypocrisy of the comment, and a couple of you guys were unhappy. Get over it.

That guy is good. Blazing fast get off.

I’m good with that. ST has been largely solid in coverage

Lots of blocked kicks. Carter is a beast but it's his unit. We've had worse ST coordinators

I thought it was a pick, he didn’t survive contact with the ground and the defender took it.

I really like Bailey, but should easily be gone top 15. Possibly gets into the top 10. But there's some others, Howell, Thomas and Joseph. They have that speed off the edge that we have been bringing in. They just don't have the high grade that Bailey has right now. But these guys could go mid to late 1st or 2nd once the combine wraps up.

But Matayo from Oregon is returning to school. Every time I really like a player this upcoming draft I find out they're returning to school. This is the third one I'm just finding out about.

If you can get say a 2nd for Smith, I wonder if Howie pulls the trigger. I like Smith a lot but you can't pay all of these guys and that would be pretty solid compensation. Maybe you can get a little more even not sure.

They already interviewed him apparently

Does redneck count toward the Rooney Rule?

Must not have asked for ketchup on it.

The thing about Bailey is not only does he have the skills, he's just relentless. He's nonstop, no matter his assignment. Rushing the passer, stopping the run, dropping in coverage, pursuit. His effort doesn't change. You get that kind of guy in here and the whole defense gets better. If he's there at 15, the Jets 3rd round pick is enough to move up to get him.

We really need some QBs to test out of this world and push to the top of the 1st round. Unfortunately, it's a weak QB class so we're going to see DB/Edge/DL go higher than usual.

Glad you're happy with the amount of clutch he brought this season. Not nearly enough for me.

I think of clutch as being better than baseline in big moments and choking as worse than baseline. In general, IMO, Hurts absolutely qualifies as a clutch qb.

In 2025, not as much. No real choke, it’s just that he had a lousy baseline all year and never really deviated from it.

Hurts had been clutch enough over the last several seasons to qualify as that

I do have some concern he has gotten too muscle bound and its slowed his running and hindered his throwing mechanics

Yeah I'd have called it a pick but they're just remarkably inconsistent with that and PI. It's obviously impacted results but I'm not sure they can or will do anything about it

53 minutes ago, ManuManu said:

Fine with that. What needed most are better RS and consistent kicker. Jake has been missing kicks of late. Either fine a new one or find ways to refine the mechanics. The Coordinator is only as good as the players on the field.

He was not good as the Lions OC several years ago. He was pretty green when he got the job, so it's possible he's improved since then, but I kinda doubt it.

Nah instant that knee hits he is down by contact and at best it wasnt even a simultaneous catch

Can someone run down the basement and unplug the EMB, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in please?
