Or the roster is in pretty good shape already and needs a few key pieces to reach contender level. Already have one (CB) and looking now for an edge. Howie messed up last offseason but will regain his mojo. This stuff is solvable. Eagles will be good yet again (lucky us) so enjoy the ride. The draft should be super fun with so many picks.

They need about 5 starter level types on offense and defense. And 8-10 good subs added to roster for depth. Just off the top of my head.

They need 5 more on top of who they have? Unless I misunderstand I'm not seeing that.

The way I see it, they have 2 very questionable starters on OL. If AJ gets traded. Need one there. And can use a true WR3. Unproven there. Defensive line is short at least 1 true starter if you hearken back to last year's dilemma before Phillips. Need 2 new safeties. I'm thinking 5 is a fair number to describe this situation. Not even counting Lane Johnson question mark etc.

Steelers still need a QB.. Would you do McKee and 98 to Pittsburgh for 76 and 85? Point value it's basically the equivalent to the last pick of the 2nd round/1st pick of 3rd round.

Why would the Stillers want McKee? He's proven nothing, IMO. Just askin'.

I'd do that trade though. In two seconds.

What's more important to the offense this year in the draft.. OL, WR, or TE?

It feels like a "Throwaway season" for 2026. Reset the O and D respectively, let the new Coaches get their feet wet as a Collective Coaching unit, then attack the 2027 season. Lots of wholes though. And they'll probably lose Fangio to retirement,

I'm a very positive person. 🙃😬😝

Sounds like someone is grumpy from skipping leg day…

Was in Tokyo for work the last few days, so finally home and readjusting to the time zone. Here's some thoughts on where we stand:

  • Getting back DG for 1 year, $7mm is a freaking steal. I'd be shocked if there weren't better offers than that on the market.

  • The Ebiketie signing is good value, but I think they still need to add at edge (Greenard, draft)

  • We now COULD move AJ before June 1, but would basically eat all our remaining effective cap space

  • Best guess below on there we stand

Doesn't this ignore the top 51 cut off? Signing someone like Jones might cost 1.5 but it only knocks off 500,000 of cap space because it moves someone making a million into stop no. 52. So I think its about $3 million higher than you have, which would gives us 6 to work with if we trade AJ pre 6/1. Not a huge amount of a space but given how Howie structures contracts (Woolen base of 12 counting only 3.5 this year), he can probably add $20 million in salary if he really wanted to.

I think WR 3 is Coop or Wilson or a rookie. Hopefully, they keep Brown.

They need a swing T and guard depth for sure.

One safety Epps and a rookie will probably be the answer there.

I hope they use a high pick on an edge. Hunt and Smith will be going into contract years and I only want them to extend one as of now unless Smith turns a corner like BG did. With prices as crazy as they are they need to invest at least one high pick there IMO.

We can field a roster, but is it Superbowl caliber? Needs more work right now than most want to admit in here. It's got potential I guess. Ha.

Why would a team pick a QB in the 1st round of the draft? They also have proved nothing. McKee has looked good when he's played and at one time was also considered a 1st round pick. Not a bad gamble for a team heavy on picks this year.

Goedert for 7 million is a steal.

Unfortunately we are a week into free agency and Howie has done a very poor job otherwise of putting this team together. We are significantly weaker at edge rusher and safety, and weaker in terms of depth at LB, OL, and WR.

Safety is particularly infuriating being that we have Mukuba and Brown and nothing else and the FA market has already dried up. So not only is there no depth but BOTH of the starting spots are major question marks.

Is the team better at CB or worse?

I thought about that but once the season starts it is all 53. But would add a couple million from signing draft picks knocking off low cost guys.

Team needs as of today: edge (ideally one more starter level), safety (same as edge), backup OG and OT, WR3. Have the rest of the offseason and the draft.

CJGJ was added after camp in 2022. Big Fred im camp last year. Long way from being done.

Objectively, need 2 proven safeties here. Epps (who hasn't signed yet) Is no longer near starter quality and injured a bunch. Makuba is recovering from surgery and not to be counted on, for me, to start the season. Kinda like Dean last season, will be a pleasant surprise if he's back to himself by midseason. Jury is out on him. Big hole on the team at safety position. Be foolish to field a legendary trio at CB with what we have there right now. And Howie has his work cut out for him to bullet proof the OL when Jurgens and Dickerson conk out. And possibly Lane. Many here said he would require offseason surgery.

It's nice to see someone else being reasonable and not just glazing Howie. He had a bad off-season in 2025 and is pretty much following the same exact blueprint in 2026. I still think Howie is a great GM but he had better creative and start making moves or there will be fair questions about just how good he is. There are several holes on this team currently, some massive:

-Starting Edge Rusher

-Starting Safety

-Third Safety

-Backup Swing Tackle

-Backup IOL with starting experience

-Third WR

Edge Rusher and safety are massive holes that need to be filled with veterans in 2026. I'm sick and tired of hearing how they will be fine at edge rusher and that Michael FN Carter is the answer at starting safety and that Cooper and Wilson are fine WR 3 options. Anyone who thinks that has no right to complain when they are barely a playoff team and nowhere near a SB contender in 2026.

Currently the Eagles are using the same exact strategy at edge rusher they did in 2025 that failed. Count on Smith, Hunt, and a cheap reclamation project in free agency. They ultimately had to sign Zadarius Smith in camp, bring back BG, and trade a 3rd round pick for Phillips because of what an epic fail that was. At safety Mukuba has 10 NFL starts and hasn't proven a thing. Carter is a nickle corner who has zero experience as a full time safety. They are also both sub 6'0 and 190 which simply isn't a big enough starting safety tandem to hold up in this league. Again, they can take this approach into the season and sprinkle in draft picks who probably won't contribute but they won't be contenders, not even close.

Lastly, don't even get me started in the OL. They currently have three starters whose bodies are being held together with duct tape and they have not only failed to not add to the position they lost Toth and Pryor. I like Kendall but he can't be counted on as a top backup. Williams is a major project and Hinton was trash in camp and pre-season and probably won't even make the team.

If Howie came out and said this is a re-tooling season I could at least understand what is going on but repeating a failed off-season approach from a year ago when the SB window is still open is confusing and infuriating and the excuses I continue to see made for Howie are pathetic.

Not even a question. It's the one area that Howie actually improved. For all of the inconsistency and concern over Woolen being a knuckle head he is at worst still an upgrade to Adore Jackson and at best a massive one.

Currently only Hurts and McKee on roster as QBs. I don’t see McKee moving. If Fields just landed a 2027 6th, what makes you think McKee leads to a high third when they want Rodgers back, have Cousins as an option? Lance and Mac Jones showed the value of a good back up last year and both were retained by their respective teams.

If Fangio can make Adoree Jackson look competent, I am sold on Woolen being a massive upgrade here. And yes, I will take Jackson back here for depth at a minimum contract because he's veteran depth and figured out this defense by end of season. And if he knocks Ringo out of fill-in role, all the better.

TE is a big need still. Gotta come away with the TE of the future eventually and I still hope Calcaterra doesn't make the team.

Delp in RD3 or Bentley in RD4 would please me

BPA but I think BPA will include at least one TE and probably one IOL or a G\T. Maybe a WR depending how the board falls. But the right player don’t discount OLB/Edge, OT, S or CB in the first two days. Any position with one year contracts associated with them.

Panicking as if the season starts this week. Lol

Absolutely better - I was worried about the CB 2 spot, but after the Woolen signing - im good now.

My 2 cents - our first three picks should be any combination of Edge or OT ( depending what happens with Greenard ) / TE / Safety
