Wednesday at 04:39 PM2 days People would hate Monken here. This is the guy who inexplicably refused to use Derrick Henry and instead had Lamar Jackson throwing 30 passes per game as they got bounced by less talented teams every year. And Daboll either couldn't coach the RB out of Jaxon Dart or simply decided not to in an attempt to save his own job. And on top of that he's a hot head, he wouldn't fit here at all.
Wednesday at 04:41 PM2 days Just now, ManuManu said:No.There's a perfectly good, proven Matt Patricia and Jonathan Gannon for them. They need to hire someone proven.

And last year they lost in Buffalo in the 2nd round and scored 25 after scoring 28 against Steelers
Wednesday at 04:42 PM2 days IMO the "Patullo might stay in some lesser role" talk is merely agents trying to save face. It makes no sense at all to retain him in any capacity. And frankly, if Patullo was even willing to take a demotion that would make me wonder if he has the confidence to do any job we could offer him

Before the Super Bowl, we had discussions on the blog about the 2025 season. one of the things that was said by me was you can’t come back in 2025 just trying to be the 2024 Eagles. trying to replicate what they did wouldn’t work and you’d ultimately fail to be that team. It’s a different team even if the names on the back of the jersey are mostly similar. you are supposed to evolve from that. Not try to replicate something that is very hard to replicate which was historic run running game, number one defense and highly efficient pass off offense. That is a very, very, very hard recipe to accomplish those feats. You had to evolve and have this team be its own identity as the nfl had an entire offseason to figure you out and counter you. frankly, I don’t think the offense ever found their identity cause they were trying to trade chase the dragon of 2024. It’s like that South Park, where Randy is playing the video game and he’s trying to catch a dragon. he can never catch the dragon. You were never going to be that for multiple different reasons.Sadly, Randy is smarter than Nick.
Wednesday at 04:45 PM2 days Christian Parker couldn't even develop an immensely talented Kelee Ringo out of Georgia. You definitely don't want that guy running your defense @Joe Ball

Wednesday at 04:49 PM2 days fwiw we have no idea if Parker would be a good DC. We know he's highly thought of by his players at DB coach
Wednesday at 04:51 PM2 days I think Cowboys would probably prefer a more experienced proven DC to fix that defense, but either way if Parker leaves I wonder if Eagles bring Dennard Wilson back as DB coach if he doesn't get a DC job elsewhere. But also there were some rumblings Parker may want to stay if he thinks he's the heir apparent to Fangio.

For example, that Mark Andrews dropped 2 pt conversion: that game was in Buffalo and Henry had 16 carries all game.

This is going to be a tricky process though because there are so many head coaching openings and the situation here is unique. You also want to hire THE best guy for the job but do you really want someone who will almost definitely leave for a head coaching job in 2027 assuming they have success here in 2026. It's kind of becoming groundhog day here when it comes to OC hires. They either lose someone to a head coaching job, or hire the absolute wrong person and they are one and done. As much as I want a dynamic offensive guy like McDaniel or Stefanski I don't see either one NOT getting a head coaching job and even IF they were to land them they would likely be gone after one season.I think Todd Monken is THE perfect candidate because of what he was able to do with Lamar, what that offense looked like, and the fact that he would be content to be an OC long term. You could easily replicate that Baltimore offense by simply adding a FB, drafting a couple of TE's, and going run heavy with Hurts, Saquon, and Tank. I realize people expect Monken to just go with Harbaugh but he is already interviewing in Tampa for their OC job away from Harbaugh so it appears he is a possibility. Bring him in and give him full autonomy over the offense like Vic has with the defense and tell Nick to be a good cheerleader and best buddy to all of the players. So yeah I am officially endorsing Monken as my number one choice.I'm getting more and more on board with the Monken idea.If he becomes the OC, I'd bet Isaiah Likely becomes FA target #1. I could even see them double dipping and bringing in Charlie Kolar too. The Eagles have 0 TE under contract. Not counting Latu or EJ Jenkins. TE was a strength for the Ravens. Bring them both in.
