I was going to post about this and then I forgot. I was going to say that they have 100% officially jumped the shark by doing that. There is no question that the show took a major downward spiral when Zach left which was bad enough, but then replacing him with a moron like EJ Smith. He is pretty much impossible to listen to. All he does is laugh about everything and somehow manage to go on few minute tangents about stuff that has nothing to do with football while he attempts to talk about football. The other day they did an entire segment on EJ favorite guitarists. It's really a shame what has happened to that pod.

9/10 turkeys EJ Smith is macro-dosing based on his demeanor and football takes.

Everything you need to know about colonoscopy:

Let's hope so because if Howie just felt the need to give up a pick (7th or not) and take on a 4 million cap hit for a 3rd string QB when they can just go out and sign someone it is yet another stupid and pointless move by him.

Unless, of course, he was looking to trade McKee for a second or third rounder, which he would only do if he actually had a backup QB. A GM you are not.

IF IF IF

No new kicker this year

Carson and Kyler feels like a pairing in a buddy cop movie with the not so hot shot rookie McCarthy

Another bad move by Howie. They lowered his cap hit by a whopping 240K but guaranteed him 5 million which means there will be no competition for him when there absolutely should be. Unreal.

If they aren't planning to trade McKee it is yet another stupid ass move from Howie this off-season. I don't care if it's "only a 7th round pick," trading any capital for a 3rd string QB when you can just go out and sign someone right now is dumb. Not only that, he has a cap hit of 4 million. They won't even invest 2-3 million in a safety like Epps but they will pay 4 million or a 3rd QB? Howie is now on back to back off-seasons which was bad and so far extremely questionable. Just an utterly pointless stupid move.

How do you know they won't sign Epps? Who is the Free Agent QB they should have signed instead of trading for Dalton? Would your plan be for them to sign Russell Wilson or Carson Wentz? What would have been the smarter move?

The internet will benefit from the memes.

Wentz will be the clear #3 QB there on the depth chart in training camp, but I bet he starts some games for them before their season is done.

Crashing out about nothing man. Take a gummy.

Jake can "get injured" and then insurance money kicks in to cover his salary.

They can probably easily carry the new kicker on the PS as long a they need to roll Jake "gets injured".

Surely they've done this so they can ease the cap burden on moving on.

I mean...they could draft one and eat the 5 million, but yeah...that 240k isn't worth it

Why do you think it means no competition for him? Do you know what the difference in guaranteed money is for him in the restructure? Is it possible that restructuring actually makes it easier to move on from him?

I don't get the point of lowering Elliott's cap number by 250k. Are they that jammed up?

They fully guaranteed his 2026 salary. And it would have already been additional dead cap to move on from him before the restructure. He’s firmly not going anywhere.

I feel like (in the very recent and very distant past) I pointed out the ridiculousness of adding void years to a f'n kicker. facepalm

Nice! We can always use a few missed extra points in big spots.

What a crisis it will turn into if he is missing a lot in training camp and preseason.

You would think Baltimore would be in win now mode and want to make a move for AJ Brown since they have their picks back from the Raiders. Would pick 14 suffice or what would you ask in return?

Elliott literally was a key reason we lost to 49ers. And he skates. The blind loyalty to this guy is unreal. Bad kicker for the last 3 out of 6 years. Should have docked half his pay if you are gonna do this kinda move and save real money. Howie's uneven offseason should be concerning when you combine it with last year.
