We have no idea how he will look in a new offense with a new OC but considering they have no better options and a lot of other holes to fill I'm willing to find out.We don't need another we'll be fine if we let Rodgers go without any legit options to replace him kind of thing.
January 24Jan 24 AJ and Goedert being gone this offseason is the beginning of the changing of the guard for this offense. They need to get younger and faster. Mind as well attack this now. Will be kind of exciting to see some new blood in here. And hopefully fresh ideas with the new OC. Add Tank into the equation and this gets exciting. Howie has a perfect setup here to do a quick retool here and come back next year strong. Very achievable. First order of business, is grab Becton if he gets cut. Need to get that power running game identity going again. Of course it's not just him. They will need to draft that road grader type as well. Hopefully eek out one more year of this core line (full offseason of recovery for the injured), but with new guys ready to step in. Can only go up from that disaster last year.

One guy had 3rd downs. One guy had the first 15 scripted plays, etc.Really, its just a way to hedge your bets on one of the young unproven exciting guys like Weiss or Doyle.
January 24Jan 24 The Browns feel like they are throwing the interview process with all these guys so they can just hire Shedeur's daddy. The Eagles OC search has crossed the line from talking to Kafka to now being Kafkaesque.

So most of Nicks guys will be here and they end up getting cut off at the knees in addition to whatever it is Naggy would be doing.

A lot better than anyone would ever give them a chance to be. Might be the greatest sports series ever if they just even get them to a Super Bowl. Which I could see happening.

It would be odd for them to decide that Kafka who they interviewed a week ago is the guy at this point.Sneaky name that I don’t think has been mentioned a lot - Thomas Brown. Has been coordinator before and was OC for Frank Reich.

It worked with Doug because it was the guys he wanted and they were on a united front. The problem is when the FO starts forcing guys on the current coach and their ideas don’t align.
January 24Jan 24 I have to say Chandler Rivers... at 5'10'' dont think Ill have him as a target. But after watching a little, Im not afraid that he will just be a Mac McWilliams. I actually LIKE Rivers quite a bit. He looks exceptionally fast, and tough. He could make a great nickel CB for some team. Like, if Maddox was actually good type of player. He might even be able to play outside but Id just definitely prefer to have more length.
January 24Jan 24 I still believe the most likely OC is going to be the guy who they haven't made public that they are having discussions with.
January 24Jan 24 The reason a Nagy/Kafka/Cooter hire would suck isn't just because those names aren't exciting... and they certainly are not exciting. It's the implication that comes with it.Hiring one of those guys would tell us that they didn't get the guys they wanted, they desperately wanted to come out of this process with an experienced coordinator, and just ended up picking the one who would take the job, even though we'd know for damn sure neither of them are in their top 5 desired candidates no matter how much they'd try to convince everyone they were. I don't want to feel like my team got turned down by every girl in the dance and just settled for the smelly girl at the back of the room. That's why hiring a guy like Weis Jr, Doyle, even Slowik to a lesser extent would excite me far more. Because I could buy that they think these guys are big time up and comers and they were blown away with their vision in an interview. You could get me fired up about that.... until September and we all see how awful they are(kidding), but I could buy that. That would be a legitimate reason to hire one of these guys. That they just blew them away in interviews with their vision, their scheme, their plan to maximize this talent, etc. We know that would not be the case with Kafka or Nagy, it just isn't. It would just be pure settling.
