I'm sick of how all it takes is one down season for a team that is so successful, even a season where you make the playoffs and win double digit games... and it's a mess. You have finger pointing, leaks coming out, dysfunction, indecision, etc. It happens every time this team has one down season.

Get the ship under control, fellas. FFS.

Some of the stuff coming out is really Cleveland Brown pettiness, and the fan reaction ain't far off at times too.

The Eagles have issues, but they've been to the SB twice and been in the playoffs 5 years in a row. Hard life at the top of the tree

Interesting he almost retired last year

Yeah at the PC they were going out of their way to say how valuable his CEO role was. This would be reversing that. Obviously you can tell any story. They wanted a top guy but now they are discouraged and making him sink or swim. But I just don't think they'd do that because they've seen he's not good at it and it's throwing a season away. Lurie didn't give Chip power expecting him to fail

Lurie gave it to him seeing if he could sink or swim. If he could swim then move forward with him. If he sank he failed and he was gone. I still go back to the report that came out that Lurie was close to firing Sirianni at the end of 2023 and going into the week five by in 2024. This would likely be Jeffrey Lurie‘s (IF actually comes to fruition) you’re gonna sink or swim moment with sirianni and help me make a decision for going forward.

That said I still don’t think they would go this route. Only way i think it’s accurate is IF (big IF) their plan was McDaniel/daboll or bust then make a decision on Sirianni’s future by end 2026 and were getting ahead of themselves collecting data/info for future HCs (while interviewing guys for OC job)

I thought he said he ended up getting more involved in the 2025 season

I thought he said he got more involved. But I’d have to read the transcript closer as I am going to get more involved on different than I have gotten more involved. if anyone has the transcript from the presser it would make it more definitive

Being more involved does not mean taking over the reigns. If they do this, it would essentially be him calling the plays and him being in charge of all of it. It’s a bigger jump than just being involved.

Also the wording in his press conference I’d have to go back and read. Did he say he’s going to get more involved or he was more involved. Because if he says he’s going to, then we don’t definitively know that he actually did. He could say one thing and just not do it

It's starts at 31:50

"I got involved more"

Maybe he wanted more time to watch the aging Phillies

So he actually said he did. I’m guessing true cause he put it out there. Would love to know his definition of what more involved details.

Makes me think the story about Stout getting demoted is true too

I tend to think that was true too. It’s more matter of when he got more involved. Selman thinks stoutland losing run game abilities was after giants on Thursday night. I kind of think Sirianni’s bigger involvement may have came during the bye or after the showings against GB, Lions and Dallas when offense really took more steps back from where they were against Minnesota and giants just before the bye.

Also around when they started using Tank more. Although still not enough as should have been used

Well it's dumb. If Sirriani were going to take over play calling he'd have done it last year mid season and this offseason they've gone out of their way to say how valuable & needed he is doing other things

This 1000 percent.

How is it not true? It’s not a report; it’s an opinion.

Shefter didnt really imply that. Its an out of context quote from a click bait Twitter account.

All this noise underscores why it's really a good idea to have a vet at OC who can handle the pressure of this market.

You know as much as I do.

Foles, pickle ball and podcast.

Kelce, all over TV.

Doug, unemployed

Clement and Burton, I have no clue what they are currently doing.

My comment went totally over your head.

Does he bat righty? He could protect Harper. His age fits with our window.

I have mentioned a few years back after 2023 and multiple other times dating back to even before 2016 when Howie came back. So it’s nothing really new. When they don’t have years that are up to their standard or worse than that bad, leaks comes out to try to make a narrative they want usually makes somebody look worse and essentially feels like placing blame for why. I’m actually shocked there’s not been more Patullo leaks from the season yet but granted he may or may not still be with the organization so doing it now could cause issues if he’s still on staff.

Imo there’s a reason why that Nick Sirianni story came out the other week that they were close to firing him in 2023 and going into the bye week in 2024. That didn’t happen by coincidence or accident, that happened because somebody wanted it out there. Been stuff like that for a while where someone is leaking info they want out there to push a narrative/paint the picture they want it to be. Saw it with wentz, doug, ertz, Schwartz and a couple others during or at the end of the doug regime.

I also think there’s a reason why the narrative was very loud at the beginning saying OC candidate were gonna be given full autonomy of the offense. The Eagles aren’t dumb. They probably heard the whispers around the league (ans very well connected) and wanted to get in front of that story. And nobody was believing it.

The front office is the problem, this board spends so long blowing smoke up Howie's ass for his roster building, but there are other areas of the job that he isn't good at and one of the big one's is keeping his nose out of the HC's job.

All the stories that come out about Sirianni are basically how lucky he is that he's got the fabulous roster that Howie built and it's terrible that he's f***ing it up so badly. Why in the name of Christ would the organisation put out that they were close to firing a guy who went to the Superbowl one year ago at the end of 2023, what message is this sending to possible future HC candidates? If you get to the Superbowl and then only go 11-6 the year after with our great roster, you're on a hot seat, it's ridiculous, I don't care if you've invented a time machine and assembled a roster of Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, TO, Gronk and Tony Gonzalez at Tight end with OJ Simpson and Jim Brown at tailback and the 88 Dolphins O Line, you aren't guaranteed to win the big one.

This all goes back to him winning the pissing contest with Chip, it persuaded Lurie he was the indispensable part of the machine and now Lurie is a buttload less patient with HC's than he was when he let big red flame out.

Makes a lot of sense. Stoutland who has been great for years, was relieved of his duty after 6 weeks when the year before, the run game was breaking records. However, they allowed Punty to stay all year. And now they are allowing Vagi to stay too. Geniuses these guys are.

This is ignoring that the offense was a mess

I'm sure the public embarrassment of leaking to the press that Stoutland was demoted is doing wonders for his motivation to remain with the Eagles.

It actually goes back further than Chip. I pointed this out a couple years back in 2020. It kind of started towards the end of the Andy Reid era. It was a long list I came up with about stuff that got leaked out over the years. And there were a lot of of stuff that had no reason for it to be leaked out. Should’ve never seen the light a day. All it did was shift and push blame on somebody else and make somebody else in the organization appear to look better or deflect off their issues.

@LeanMeanGM and I have said four years it’s easier for fans to blame the media then to blame who is leaking the stuff to the media. The Eagles organizationally are smart enough to know most fans will go after the media harder about the story then why is this being leaked. Heck just go look on Twitter when a story comes out that fans don’t like.

And this is not the absolve the Philadelphia media because we have some crummy reporters/journalist like Marcus hayes. But there’s been times where they were accurate and took the abuse of the fans when really should’ve been questioning who gave it to them and why did they want it put out there.

While Sirianna is bleeding out the clock to get his other friend Jim Bob Cooter hired, Big Dom is out scouting players.

All jokes aside he is likely gathering background intel on players attitudes and behaviors

Didn't Vic make a comment in 2023 that he wanted to coach as long as he possibly could basically? He also seems like a young 67. Where did that rumor even start
