Guy should have been on IR to begin the season. We all saw it.

Shocker, said no ever.

I could see Mike Evans going to HOU. Basically his home town (Galveston). They need significant help on the OL, but they will need wr help next year as well.

I'll give you that, I am not all that mature. You can confirm that with most of my responses in this chat. My points can be valid but I prefer the 7 year old way of communication.

And a heads up, not all QB's who have started at least 3 Super Bowls have been inducted into the hall of fame.

Wow

Since the season ended there has been speculation and discussion that the following things could happen with the Eagles:

Fangio retiring

Stoutland retiring

Lane retiring

AJ being dealt

Sirianni assuming play calling duties and taking over as the lead offensive guy

Hiring Nagy, Cooter, or Grizzard

No one wants to coach for the Eagles

I don't know what's gotten into reporters over the past several months, but I've never seen more throwing crap at the wall and speculating.

It happens most years, people just forget and move on to the next rumor.

Vic would rather sit in an old folks home instead of being associated with a team that coaches Hurts

I'd blame Nick if Vic left and retired

I'd blame Ringo for turning around and letting Josh Johnson waltz into the endzone. It probably gave him an aneurysm.

Hmmm, wonder where he gathered that from?

Ok, so who have we interviewed that 1) hasn’t been hired elsewhere, 2) hasn’t "dropped out” of the running and 3) hasn’t gotten a second interview?

Nagy and Johnson?

But he rested against Washington. That didn’t fix it?

That Smith fellow, I already forgot his first name

Yep, should have been putting on IR and let him take time to get better. Should not have gotten that meniscus snipped.

So do we think they've narrowed their list down to finalists or do you think they are still going to be doing interviews with other candidates? If it's down to Grizzard, Nagy, Cooter, Mannion that's about an uninspiring list as it gets. Imagine if that was laid out as the list the day Patullo was fired. People would've revolted.

They're the ones saying everything lol

If Vic retires and we sign Grizzard, just trade pretty much everyone on offense and just sign the core young defensive guys

They need to really look into the training staff and their communication with the coaches...and players.

Injuries aren't always black and white. Playing through pain is inevitable. But 2025 almost erased from our mind just how good Dickerson and, yes, Cam Jurgens were in 2024. You can't have a young all-pro on a long term mega contract out there when he "can barely move" and looks like utter crap. It's bad for the team now, bad for the future of the team, bad for the player. At some point, a healthy backup actually gives you a better chance to win than a banged up all-pro. And at some point, you have to accept a reduced chance of beating the Vikings in October in order to avoid derailing a season and a career. Somehow, being in the heat of the moment and trying to win games, the coaching staff and training staff completely lost sight of that. The training staff and/or medical staff should have not cleared him to play. Stoutland should have not played them. And Siri should have not played them if the two aforementioned entities failed to see the light.

It was a complete, systemic failure having those guys on the field as much as they were this year.

So of the three known finalists, we know Cooter from his time here. We played against the Bucs the past two years, one of which Grizzard called the plays and the other he was the PGC. Mannion is a wildcard because who knows what his system or philosophy is but we’ve faced Green Bay three times the past two years.

I remember he said he expects Eagles will be his last coaching job and he's not interested in moving or taking another HC job. I don't recall him saying anything about length for coaching.

Just looked it up it was when he was with the dolphins. Said he hadn't even thought of retirement and that he can still outwork the young coaches. I know a lot can change in 2 years but this rumor seems so off the wall.

@HazletonEagle Hopefully you can speak to this.

There's a delineation of responsibility between medical staff and training staff. The team docs pass or fail patients based on a physical exam, imaging...structural safety. The training staff is more functional. They are watching how players are moving after an injury, range of motion, strength, etc. In many ways, they help to bridge the gap between the doctors and the coaches.

What I'm saying, HE, is that I'm blaming your people instead of mine on this one 🤣. I trust that these guys were safe and could be cleared to play, but the trainers really should have identified that they just were not at an acceptable functional point in their recovery to be out on the field.
