January 29Jan 29 I think they have to bring in an experienced offensive assistant when they didn't do that last season to help Patullo, right?Maybe that's where Grizzard, Nagy, Engstrand, etc come in. Doubtful it's Cooter since he already had a job and wouldn't be a promotion.
January 29Jan 29 Like it, don’t love it. If we’re going with a guy who’s never called plays, let it be the guy who’s been in NFL QB rooms for a decade, not a guy who’s been a "passing game coordinator” for a year or 2

January 29Jan 29 I'm not thrilled with the Mannion hiring but I like it a hell of a lot better than the other names who came in for a second interview. He is essentially "door number two" and door number 1 was just a pile of dogshit.

Was it you?Could be any number of people. The league knows all of it to be true. You think his only source is the Eagles?
January 29Jan 29 He was the one I was most excited about of the remaining people. Could be a HUGE bust. But, obviously this is guy has impressed people around the league and the Eagles as well.
January 29Jan 29 So the established play caller they were looking for was a guy that has ever called plays?

January 29Jan 29 i like it. Young up and comer that has a great rep around the league. And he made Malik Willis actually look like not dog ish, so that’s a plus.
January 29Jan 29 lol at them acting like Sirianni actually picked this candidate. They are so OCD about their public perception. Odds he even wrote this?
January 29Jan 29 Closest comparison isn't Andy Reid, it is Matt Moore. Like Moore, he went into coaching right after playing and in two years landed an offensive coordinator job.
January 29Jan 29 I like that they swung for the fences rather than play it safe. Obviously big risk but at least Sirriani isn't afraid of that
January 29Jan 29 All I remember is the Eagles hiring an unknown "up and comer” who was known for his binder…lightning can strike twice so put me in the wait and see camp. As long as I don’t see 4 verticals against a zone I consider this a major step up

FWIW, John Madden was 33 when was hired as a head coach. As to whether Sirianni was afraid or not, I don’t care. So, now we have the youngest and the oldest coordinators.
January 29Jan 29 JFC, I turned on the senior bowl practice to see drills not interviews and commercials.
