I know many have already mentioned this, but Stout moving on couldn’t possibly make it more clear that the offense will be completely revamped. Good.

Sorry to see him go, but everyone’s a shelf life, and not even great OL coaches are a fit for all schemes.

That said, we better hire a good one. This is an awfully late start to the process.

Stoutland was going to be gone eventually. Same with Fangio. They aren't going to coach forever. Just have to deal with it and hope the replacements can do a good job.

I do wonder if Dickerson and Jurgens health moving forward played a part in his decision. Same with Lane possibly not playing much longer.

Lol I'm excited to see something new but I'm also excited to see it blow up and restart lol

"Speaking with ESPN last week, Stoutland's agent, Alan Herman, had indicated that Stoutland was frustrated with how this season transpired with his voice not being heard within the organization and said there was a chance he could move on. However, Herman had emphasized Stoutland was not planning to retire from football."

Nick is a problem

I usually like your posts but are you out of your freaking mind? Down year because the OC was dog crap. That's on Nick not him and who the hell are they going to get now that we trust to develop the line the way he does. This is a huge and honestly devastating loss. Especially, with Lane retiring. This is turning into a nightmare because of one clown.

Lane can coach them.

Those vibes Nick brings are sure doing great

If it is going to go down like this...it is not a bad year to have a bunch of draft picks and a clear focus on upgrading the offense...let the offseason officially begin...

basically said Nick and Patullo designed new running plays late last year and Stout didn’t like it and gave up title and that he was reluctant to get involved in new Shanahan type scheme

While Sirianni is right to step in, it’s fairly concerning that he yet again failed at trying to fix something midseason. The defense was embarrassing in 2023. The running game sucked, and somehow was overly relied upon despite this, and then him and his buddy tried to fix it and it continued to stink out loud. Yet they continued relying on the rushing attack like it was 2024.

Please lord, keep Sirianni as the chief vibes officer and let him learn how to manage a game.

The run game sucked. A decent chunk of people in the blog criticized Stoutland. So when people claimed Siri did nothing to try to fix the offense, we are going to complain that he actually tried to change the one thing about the offense that regressed more than anything else from the prior season? The thing we needed to be successful? We are seriously going to blame Siri for that now too? If he wasnt supposed to try to make things better, and he wasnt supposed to NOT try to make things better, what was he supposed to do?

lolI thought that was handled already? Wtf? Was he still mulling it over?

The reports were he was leaning towards coming back but there was still a small chance he could wind up retiring. This will be a big topic to revisit this time next year

Guy has been good for 13 years and suddenly he is the problem? No. Nick is the problem.

Sorry if this has already been discussed I’m not as active on the boards anymore, but I figured Jaelan Phillips was going to be a rental initially. Now with how much Kempski has been alluding to him getting a deal in Philly, I’m starting to wonder if he’s retained and they let Nolan Smith walk in a year or two.

The run game was actually a huge problem. We cant pretend that didnt happen. Sorry.

Smith should absolutely walk then, if not be sent packing sooner.

Yeah, because the entire offense sucked thanks to him hiring his friend. Again, he has been one of the best OL coaches in NFL history who oversaw Barkley's huge year. What changed? Nick had to hire his inept friend. But there is a reason all these things are happening and it's the clown

Use him until he leaves and get a comp pick or trade him

It was the OC and QB, as well as health of the OL, and Barkley playing like a softie. If the OL was too injured to do Soutland stuff, which they were, then someone needed to step in and try something different. If stoutland stomped his feet upset that it wasnt his run game at that point, too bad.

You guys just wont stop complaining no matter that Siri does.

Stoutland isnt all that mad if he is going to remain involved with the franchise. Hes just done coaching. Most likely if everyone could think logically, the biggest driving issue in his decision will be trying to fit his OL in to a brand new offense.

And maybe, just maybe for an old coach, seeing his OL in shambles health wise and knowing his legendary group is basically at the end of its glory days, he just doesnt want to stick around long enough to rebuild the whole thing.

You make it sound like sirianni and patullo doing anything with the offense was going to make it better. Sirianni is a Fing clown and he tanked the season the second he hired that buffoon. He deserves every bit of smoke he gets

Not really... a lot of it is completely imagined BS.

@HazletonEagle

If you read that quote I posted Stout wasn't even consulted they just relieved him of his duties. Not listening to a guy that good is more ineptitude from the clown. You don't just step in and over a guy that respected without at least talking to him. That's disrespectful on top of it so no wonder the guy was like F this I'm done. The guy had ideas on how to fix things and was ignored.

No doubt Sirriani isn’t a great offensive coach and Patullo was a very poor choice. So long as Sirriani can course correct with a new hire after a ‘bad’ season then it’s fine. If he piles mistakes up then he’ll likely go. Such is the nfl. This year will end with all the O geniuses in the league except Reid having only won one championship as HC put together

Thats not what was actually reported elsewhere. That was someone's embellishment of the story. To be honest, its all alarmist BS. The most realistic scenario here is that Stout recognized that his run game doesnt fit the new offense very well and didnt feel like starting all over a. trying to make it fit with the new OC, and b. trying to make it work with the cripples we have on the OL. Likely saw it as the right time to step away, while the OL is no longer elite rather than leaving while they were all at their peak.
