They wanted him back and he declined. Contract would’ve still had RGC but he’d have lost that title. —McLane said it is a messy situation. Eagles and stoutland agreed to release statements at the same time but stoutland jumped the gun. Say he did to show he as he wasn’t on the same page as the eagles. —Says he believes it started after mini bye and people took the demotion too far. He just wasn’t doing as much as in past with the run game. Stoutland felt like years of success should’ve allowed for more time to figure it out. —Says run game didn’t improve that much anyway for multiple reasons (OL, hurts not running as much). Some players were frustrated with stoutland and more under center. None of the OL players wanted stoutland (OL are healthy small drop).— eagles wants him around the team as an advisor. Not sure if he wants to do that. Sounds people think he could go back to ny like Frank Reich. Says a lot of teams needing OL are going to want to bring him in.

Last week it was he was retiring that’s when reached out to Schwartz and Gannon (somewhat confusing cause later said he was back and forth on it and eagles during the season didn’t think he would even though he’d say it). Parker went to them saying he had opportunities and need some closure with Vic if they wanted him or not. Hurtt in his opinion is likely to be the successor

He was crap on by Siri and Patullo who are lucky to even have him on this staff. He knows more about offense than those two shitwads and their entire families combined. Even with Siri's dad and his 8 brothers or whatever it is he has. Not to mention it happened under Howie and Jeff's watch, who are supposed to consider him completely invaluable and respected. So much for that. He's been here way before those two shitwads. Pathetic and inexcusable.
February 5Feb 5 McLane said last week when the stuff was going on with Vic that the Eagles reached out to Gannon and when Schwartz got passed over in Cleveland he reached out to the Eagles.

February 5Feb 5 McLane said Parker went to the Eagles looking for clarity before interviewing with Dallas but they were holding out hope for Fangio’s return.
February 5Feb 5 2 minutes ago, ManuManu said:Yeah, I wish he expanded on Dickerson more. What exactly does that mean?Yeah that was randomly thrown in there. Maybe he's contemplating retirement or maybe he’s still banged up (albeit he did say everyone is healthy in passing then said lane going hard to help his foot feel better)
February 5Feb 5 Olivia said the eagles wanted an OC who didn’t have desire to become a HC like Fangio. But didn’t happen. but if it did they are close to retirement too so it wouldn’t necessarily be long termI’d add to this people thought monken at 59 only wanted to be a OC. He got a HC. I also think if you have success and someone is going to interview you for HC. Like with monken just cause you think someone doesn’t aspire to be a HC due to age doesn’t mean they won’t still go for it.— McLane said going to be more motion, more throws over the middle, under center and things they haven’t done as much in the past due to Qb, scheme and stoutland. Says sirianni message is get on board or leaving you behind— Olivia says eagles got in early with mannion. Viewed as someone who’s going to become a HC fast. Made sense once daboll and McDaniel went elsewhere. So went looking for young offensive mind even if it was first time.—McLane says mannion given a lot of freedom. It’s an acknowledgment that hurts needs to evolve. Says Nick is also going to be a guiding factor in this. Says doesn’t take long for defenses to find out. That’s why moving in that direction. Says believes kubiak would’ve tried get mannion as OC for raiders. Says his memory is photographic. Drew lock say mannion coached him up before the eagles loss to Seattle in 2023. Says it was him helping him prepare.— Olivia says Sean Clifford (with GB as backup Qb) told her was getting love and Willis ready not just the starter. Says mannion was tremendous in Willis development. Says offense likely looks like Shanahan. Tom Clemens hand picked (think former Qb coach in GB) mannion to replace him in his position in GB (was there for development of QBs prior to mannion)— mentions Greg olson as Qb coach due to connection with mannion. Moorehead likely gone.— McLane said Howie and Lurie very involved. Believes Grizzard was an organizational hire. Some concerns with that. Also preparing in case mannion leaves sooner rather than later and have a better in house option.— McLane sent message to a long time nfl person after mannjon, nfl source said what’s that say about Nick? Mclane responded with says giving him just enough rope to hang himself. Make it easier to cut him if doesn’t work out. Doesn’t say he’s on hot seat but standing where close to his standing after 2024 Says lurie considered firing him after 2023 and bye in 2024. Olivia says if doesn’t go well she doesn’t think it’s a long leash. Pressure on sirianni and team to perform better on offense

Unfortunately a third of the league fired its HC.

Unfortunately a third of the league fired its HC.Idk were people on here (not you) who stated he wanted to only be OC and didn’t aspire to be a HC. find a OC like that and he’d stay in that role. I’d add he had the ravens offense prior to this year top 10 previous two years albeit with lamar. The bigger point is there’s less offensive guys that are willing to stay as an OC for their life if they have the opportunity to become a head coach regardless of age. Goes to just being old isn’t a deterrent for organizations. Bruce Arians was in his 60s when he got his first HC job. And Frank Reich was 57 (before coming to the eagles wasn’t well sought out for HC jobs). Frankly bring someone in like that and has success replacing patullo then there’s a chance he’s getting HC interviews and could leave anyway even if you were banking on age and him staying

Like with monken just cause you think someone doesn’t aspire to be a HC due to age doesn’t mean they won’t still go for it.The whole angle of finding an OC who doesn't want to become a HC is just silly, IMO. The way football is played, Offense is always evolving while Defense is reacting. It's much easier to be a defensive coach and be a grizzled vet as they are always reacting instead of evolving. The old OC's who don't have any aspirations of HC are extremely rare. IF there are, it's a guy like Monken, as you said, who took a HC job. Or a Frank Reich who isn't really bringing new ideas to the table. You are really limiting yourself with an old school OC who isn't adapting that much to the current game. The offense coaching staff is always going to lean on younger guys with new ideas that have aspirations of being a HC someday. Imagine the Eagles hired Pat Shurmur as OC in 2026. Because that's the type of OC you are likely to get. And who knows if he wants to be a HC again.

February 5Feb 5 To add more:McLane said he knows a lot of fans want to blame the coaches for everything and he’s not going to keep refuting those narratives, but it’s more than just the coaching and Siranni will still have say and as head coach will have final word on everything. And he’s not against changing the offense, he just didn’t think they had the personnel, and perhaps even coaches to successfully do it previously.Said Klint Kubiak absolutely loves Mannion and believes when he gets the Raiders job would’ve been his OC if the Eagles didn’t hire him first.Said people around the league rave about Mannion’s intelligence and recall.Based on all the reporting I'm curious on just how badly the Stoutland bridge is burned. Like if the Eagles new OL coach absolutely sucks and they're getting beat left and right and Stout still doesn't have another job, I wonder what he'd say if they went back to him. And whether his beef is more with the coaches or organization as a whole. Either way, what a mess. I don't blame him for feeling disrespected. I put this on Lurie, this is his organization. You can't let relationships with all time greats fall apart like that. If for nothing else, people talk, and it makes your organization look bad around the league.

February 6Feb 6 McLane also said he wouldn’t say Sirianni is on the hot seat, but he’s in shakier ground than last season for sure and even more than he was coming off of 2023 and they considered firing him during the 2024 bye week.
