February 6Feb 6 3 hours ago, Sack that QB said:Bo and EJ today were talking about how one of the disconnects with Jalen Hurts is that if you want Jalen Hurts to do something, he needs to see the logic in it, otherwise he's going to resist it. And the previous staff apparently were not able to explain logically to him why they wanted him to do certain things. And it's up to the new staff to sell him on the concepts that they want him to do and why they think it'll make him a better player. It's hard to tell how much of this stuff is true and how much of it is ex coaches throwing Hurts under the bus so they can look good, but this type of stuff makes him sound like a diva. That doesn't sound Diva-ish to me, it seems logical.

So that’s basically what McLane feels is going on.Sorry for the confusion. I was typing it while listening to it.Yup...well this is no longer rocket science. Sirianni may have been invited to the process for hiring the OC but the final decision and negotiating for both Mannion and Grizzard are going to be all Howie/Lurie. They needed to step in because of Sirianni's failure in leadership with Patullo and the offense. Likewise...all the recent hires are going to have Mannion's name on it. It is very unusual for an incoming OC with no direct experience to carry that much authority and influence. It was negotiated by Lurie/Howie with Sirianni being nothing more than a yes man in the process. I doubt Howie/Lurie would go so far as to tell Mannion that the future HC job is his with good performance, but it will certainly have been implied. So as soon as Mannion shows he is capable and has gained Howie/Lurie trust, they are going to realize that Sirianni is completely expendable.

February 6Feb 6 Fangio should have gotten more votesIt’s kinda funny seeing Matt Burke considering Eagles fans didn’t like him at the time. Goes to show it’s not always on the field results to judge assistant coaches.

I saw one report that he wasn’t a lock to be the DC if Fangio retired.

February 6Feb 6 3 hours ago, LeanMeanGM said:The whole angle of finding an OC who doesn't want to become a HC is just silly, IMO. The way football is played, Offense is always evolving while Defense is reacting. It's much easier to be a defensive coach and be a grizzled vet as they are always reacting instead of evolving. The old OC's who don't have any aspirations of HC are extremely rare. IF there are, it's a guy like Monken, as you said, who took a HC job. Or a Frank Reich who isn't really bringing new ideas to the table. You are really limiting yourself with an old school OC who isn't adapting that much to the current game. The offense coaching staff is always going to lean on younger guys with new ideas that have aspirations of being a HC someday.Imagine the Eagles hired Pat Shurmur as OC in 2026. Because that's the type of OC you are likely to get. And who knows if he wants to be a HC again.Yeah…I discredit any report that says that was the goal. It goes beyond being silly… It’s just a downright stupid philosophy.
February 6Feb 6 Olivia didn’t say that I think people misheard what she said. She said "there was talk out there about the Eagles maybe favoring a guy who didn’t want to become a head coach.” I think she was referring to the fan sentiment not what the Eagles wanted.
February 6Feb 6 Its amazing how much some of you know what happens and what goes on behind the scenes in the Eagles organization. Had no idea some of you were that locked in.

It really makes for a more enjoyable experience when DAL plays PHI, I feel like I am more informed than the average fan. PHI is the only team other then DAL I will read up on for insights. info, and opinions. I have never followed another team nearly as much as I follow the Eagles and this board. I think last year someone called me a closet fan 😂...know your enemy...😂.
February 6Feb 6 All those NFL Man of the Year award finalists...some ugly fashion choices, and then just some guys that look like they pulled out the one sport coat they owned in college.

It will give us the option to retire at the same time (she’s significantly younger) and enjoy both a warmer climate and more relaxed pace.
February 6Feb 6 Jordan Davis should have won that award, not Caleb...QBs win games every week like that...DL don't do what Davis did but a few times a year total.
