So is he questioning the new folks or KP?I can't blame him at all for questioning KP. Again Hurts isn't my favorite quarterback but, it's not unusual for a "star quarterback " to want to give his input.

Yup...as a leader, teacher. and former coach I know the "why" is the single most important element for any instruction. It always needs to be explicit and there should be a follow up checking for understanding to insure clarity. Gone are the days of "just do as I tell you" in order to lead people.

The only caveat with that is during a 30 second time out there isn't time to engage in a 5 minute discussion about whys and wherefores. Otherwise I agree.

I am not talking about a 30 second time out neither is the context of my response....this is about the roll out of an offensive scheme or game planning...when there is time for back and forth...the "why" has to always be taught

I don't mind any of it. I don't care if Hurts questions the coordinators or not, but it's just a fact of the matter that if they aren't on the same page, the offense isn't going to work. If the QB doesn't buy into what the coaches are doing, the offense is cooked. And if Hurts doesn't buy into what Mannion is selling, then fast forward a year and Hurts and Sirianni are probably both gone. It's cause and effect, not blame.

Well you started this saying it makes Hurts sound like a diva, then presenting it as Hurts "doesn't get it." Now it seems you're back pedaling a little to they're just not on the same page.

There was that report that made it seem like KP coddled Hurts while Moore was more of a "this is what we're going to do"

Franchise QBs should have their input in the offense. They should also be challenged by the OC

Then I'm going to win multiple lotteries and use my winnings to buy all the Philly sports teams (minus the Flyers, LOL) and I'm going to run them all based on advice I get from the blog. Then we'll all just sit back and watch the championships pour in

If it's true it does sound diva-ish. It's just a matter of fact, it doesn't mean that it bothers me necessarily. Classify it however you want, if the coaches present specific concepts or things to him that they want him to do and he resists them, then they're going to fail. And it's going to make it harder for the Eagles to evaluate him as a QB if they can't see him attempting to do the things that they want.

But generally speaking I don't think it's good for the Eagles and their success on the field when the QB is resisting what the coaches are teaching and asking. Do you? And whether the solution is to get better coaches and a better scheme or Hurts just sucking it up and being more receptive... whatever the solution is there needs to be one going forward if the reporting is correct that the Eagles struggled to get Hurts to buy in.

If you can’t explain why you want a player to do a thing you’re in the wrong line of work. If Hurts asked why that does not make him automatically resistant. If a coach tells him one thing and another tells him another he would be remiss if he didn’t ask why. A high school coach who’s a graduate assistant somewhere is one thing but at this level he damn better well know why or go back to stocking shelves at Krogers. Of, however, the coach explains the rationale and it makes sens, then yes, there may be a problem. The srticle never goes that far.

The thing is, no one implied that asking why made him resistant. That's the cpout you are trying to create to talk around the issue.

It specifically said he was resistant if the answer wasn't to his liking.

Thats a player not listening to coaches just because he is uncomfortable with an idea that he doesn't comprehend well. Or he thinks he knows better.

Not good. No way to spin it.

Well now you're changing it again. The original quote supposedly is that he just wanted the logic explained to him. Now you're saying he resisted it, or wouldn't attempt it. The narrative changes every time we talk about this.

Nice.

But we are going to turn on you and call for your firing before EOD.

That isn't true.

Bo and EJ today were talking about how one of the disconnects with Jalen Hurts is that if you want Jalen Hurts to do something, he needs to see the logic in it, otherwise he's going to resist it. And the previous staff apparently were not able to explain logically to him why they wanted him to do certain things. And it's up to the new staff to sell him on the concepts that they want him to do and why they think it'll make him a better player.

It's hard to tell how much of this stuff is true and how much of it is ex coaches throwing Hurts under the bus so they can look good, but this type of stuff makes him sound like a diva.

There was a good Mike McDaniel video floating around when the Eagles first fired KP. In the video McDaniel spoke about how it is important as a cosch to explain to a player why they are doing things. The reasons behind it, the logic. He said that is the difference between good and bad coaches. Otherwise you have coaches trying to tell players to fo something but they arent able to explain the reasoning behind it and that leads to players buying in.

Of course you have the same pathetic people here defending incompetent coaches ao they blame the player they hate and look to hate on constantly 24/7.

It is obvious KP was the type of coach that couldn't explain why they were doing things because KP himself didn't know why they were doing things. Mr "we just ran to run sometimes" put together a horrible offense that set nothing up throughout a game. Did motion for the sake of motion with no other intention. He was the worst OC in tbe league. Obvious by what we saw and by how no team has shown any interest in him for anything at all, College or Pros.

Everyone's heads will cool and Stoutland will be back in a week.

Make sure you hire @vikas83 for cap Management and contracts

Funny thought though for a min. If Vic leaves would Schwartz put up with Nick? I don't think I could see those two coexisting. I feel like Schwartz would kick him out of the defensive room and either ignore or tell him to shutup

DeJean was sad when Dallas snagged our guy for DC.

Of course vibes are low the moment a beloved coach leaves the building. What the hell would people expect?

Reports that Nova Care is elated to lose Stoutland? Why?

Philly media loves sensationalism because fans eat it up and love it too.

Saying vibes are low isn't sensationalism. He didn't say the Eagles have abandoned hope and think they'll never win another Super Bowl.

You couldn't have just posted the video? You had to quote yourself telling yourself that yourself found the video, 3 minutes later?
