Mechi B is not coming back..locally in Philadelphia there's whispers of lots of off the field issues with him. No chance.

What sort of issues? At least I haven't heard anything like that before

We need a RT. Everything is fine assuming they get healthy. Even so, Mailata, Dickerson, and Jurgens aren’t going anywhere. Steen is fine at RG.

Is Cam Williams not going to cut it long term? I know he’s a rookie and behind Fred but I was hoping he would do well for PHI. Not all players are starters talent the first year.

I’d like it more if half the players didn’t transfer every season.

One of the things mentioned on PHLY today that I thought about during the season as well was should the Eagles have taken Josh Simmons with their first rounder instead of Campbell. They have a future need at OT and a current need for depth and he’s probably better than anyone in this current class, certainly better than anyone they’d take at the end of the first round.

I really don’t love any OTs that will be in the Eagles range this draft. We’ll see what they do to the OL this offseason. Maybe next year’s draft is the year for Lane’s heir apparent.

I'm not blown away with the tackle class either. I still am looking at some of these tackles that can move to guard to supplant Steen. I was looking at the Ohio State player Austin Siereveld. But he just announced yesterday he's returning to school. Max Iheanachor, Dametrious Crownover are a couple that are intriguing. Not a strong o-line class overall.

This is a bad comparison because people declaring in 2021 were doing so during lockdown with no clear path of college football’s 2021 season

It has ruined college football.

Wouldn't that be something of they interview guys and then just settle on KP as OC again.

Get out the torches and pitchforks.

Jurgens looked worse than him this year and Steen is a better pass blocker than Bechton was.

That isn't a high bar. Run game is the issue.

I think this Howie quote that he offered up unasked isn’t getting enough attention.

I understand the financial implications of an AJ Brown trade but a quote like that unprompted seems like he’s conditioning the fan base for something big and unpopular at face value.

2020 was 115.

To stay home with his family more. Can’t blame him if Kylie is waiting at home every night.

He has way more free time doing what he’s doing than he would as a coach.

Probably just letting Dallas Goedert go

Could as easily be about Landon Dickerson.

I didn’t mean Brown in particular, just someone of that caliber in name. Could also just be losing a lot of mid tier but popular FA’s as well.

He said something almost identical a year ago. I take it as him saying "Don't expect much of anything in free agency, we're going to try to keep our own guys, have to let some free agents walk, but don't expect much of anything until the draft in terms of adding players"

I would add to this if guy is along that offensive line who are being paid big money and what we’ve come to expect play the way they do, Tyler Steen is not a problem. Go look at what his PFF grade was comparatively to the rest of the league at that position. I’m not saying PFF is the the end all be all. But he was at least average to above average starter. There were years Isaac seumalo didn’t have the grade he just did. Again not saying he’s great but he was 11th in terms of guards in pass block and 17th in terms of run block. Overall 17th out of 81 eligible guard. His grade in both categories were starter level. If our other guys played at the level we’ve grown accustomed too he’s fine being your weak link just like seumalo was.

The PFF rating system works like this:

  • 100-90 Elite

  • 89-85 Pro Bowler

  • 84-70 Starter

  • 69-60 Backup

  • 59-0 Replaceable

Wonder when we will actually start interviewing people.

We get a whole offseason of this.

Bo Wulf brought up the possibility of moving on from Jurgens before his guaranteed money kicks in for the new league year. But I think he carries a lot of dead cap as well. So who knows. He was more spitballing, I don't think he did a full deep dive on the contract before bringing it up. I'd think that's more likely than Dickerson though based on their contracts.

I was on the "don’t pay Jurgen's” bandwagon last year

There has to be at least 1 guy on the line not making billions of dollars that we can cycle in draft picks every few years. C and RG can be that. Pay them if they Mailata, let them way if they’re average. I would have paid Becton before Jurgens

I wouldve as well. I know it was a hard choice but I think we could've afforded him.
