That felt like not running it back, but they acknowledged it was to plan for future contracts. He may draft Lane's replacement as a future move, let Goedert walk and others (Dean?), and that doesn't mean they're not also trying to win now.I actually trust Howie on this. He learned from 2018. And he's thinking multiple seasons ahead as well. They really could have a new dynasty potentially.Offseason? Howie doesn't have the luxury of an offseason...it/s 24/7/365. He plays 3D Chess...dealing with probabilities, risks, owners, coaches, players, agenrs, salary caps, media, NFL officials and fans. That's alot of balls to juggle...just for one season. Try keeping the next 5 years in mind also. Then again, Howie's no Jerry Jones now, is he?

His unique background is an asset and a disadvantage. The fact that he wasn’t a football player allows him to think outside a box he was never inside when building a roster. The trope that you have to have played to do this job has been destroyed. But it gets a little murky when Lurie and Howie have major success and get more and more involved beyond roster management into real football operational decisions such as assistant coaches. If you didn’t grow up on the practice field, in the film room, dealing with play calls…it’s tough for a complete non-player GM to have much insight into who the OC should be or how ready someone is to call the plays. Sure, Howie, Jullian, their research team, and Grok can look into what percentage of this and that they are doing…but they are far more familiar with the operations of a franchise than those of a team. I don’t know that they deferred to Nick or just simply agreed with him on the Patullo decision. But an internal promotion after winning a SB when the OC gets a HC job…that’s pretty standard. It was mostly on Nick to know Patullo wasn’t ready…Howie isn’t going to know that. That’s both a defense of Howie and a concern now that he’s picking the next one and dictating how things are going to work.

If they could get a 2nd rounder I think Howie does it.Two QBs under contract, Hurts and McKee. Doesn’t make sense the way the Eagles roll. McCord hasn’t been signed to a futures contract. Howell is an UFA.

Yesterday at 03:36 AM1 day I don't honestly know how the OL will play out, I can only speculate. They have been great and have been emphasized ever since the Andy Reid rea. It's apparent that the OL took a step back in 2025. Injuries and lack of seasoned depth played a significant hand in that outcomes. I anticipate that will be a major focus going forward. The Eagles had around 7 rookie offensive linemen under contract in 2025 - mostly residing on injured reserve lists and/or practice squad rosters Needless to say, they received little/no playing time against starting NFL opponents. Thus, it's really hard to assess what we have to look forward to. We may be sitting on a gold mine or need a complete refresh from ground zero. This needs to be addressed ASAP regardless of how long the existing starters remain. In any event, all of our present starters will probably be replaced within the next few years and their replacements will indeed need backups aa well.Be prepared to see alot of activity in this area over the next several years.
Yesterday at 03:37 AM1 day Tanner McKee will be 26 before next season starts. Now, if he were an established quality starter, that’s a great young age with room to improve and a long runway. But for a QB with essentially zero extended playing experience and a learning curve in front of him? That’s ANCIENT.He’s worth more to us as a backup and a challenge for Hurts as a more traditional drop-back passer than he is to anyone else.

For one more year, I think that's right.Howie made it clear he likes Nick as a CEO HC, and not a scheme guy. He wants Nick focusing on that. I did laugh when he said Nick was "elite" at game management. The acknowledgement of the defense getting expensive means some unpopular moves are coming. My initial thought was Cam Jurgens and biting the bullet if his back just can't handle it.The draft will be on offense: OL/WR/TE.AJ stays/goes based on compensation. If a team wants to overpay him, he's gone.My hottest take is that I don't think Jalen is safe.It won't happen nor am I hoping for it, but if a trade and big cap hit goes with it, it's smarter to trade Hurts. They would get a much better return for the cost of the cap hit compared to trading Brown.

Stay tuned,

Yesterday at 04:12 AM1 day 6 hours ago, Sack that QB said:One of the things mentioned on PHLY today that I thought about during the season as well was should the Eagles have taken Josh Simmons with their first rounder instead of Campbell. They have a future need at OT and a current need for depth and he’s probably better than anyone in this current class, certainly better than anyone they’d take at the end of the first round.I really don’t love any OTs that will be in the Eagles range this draft. We’ll see what they do to the OL this offseason. Maybe next year’s draft is the year for Lane’s heir apparent.I love Campbell. I didn’t have a problem with them drafting him. But I made this argument at the time they drafted him. And during this season. I liked Simmons over Campbell and i loved both. Imo (said this before) I’d have stayed at 32 because i loved both but didn’t hate what they gave up to secure Campbell (didn’t think it was an overpay). If somebody leap frogs me to trade up with the Chiefs and I miss out on Campbell, I would’ve been just as happy with Simmons (was happy when we got Campbell). Cause I think Simmons if he didn’t have that injury would’ve been a top 15 player. So you were getting a top 15 player just sitting there. And if the chiefs took Simmons then Campbell falls right into your laps and you keep a pick. That said I don’t blame the Eagles for doing what they did. They truly loved Campbell. But i love eagles philosophy of build through the trenches why i had Simmons over Campbell (loved both)
Yesterday at 04:21 AM1 day The difference between #1 payroll the Dodger and the #2 payroll, the Mets, is larger than the total of the payroll of 11 mlb teams combined. Lockout coming soon.

Nevertheless, KC traded picks with us and got an additional pick (they must have known somehow). Interesting how that evolved.well, Kansas City was sitting at 31. I always assumed if Simmons fell to 31 that was their pick. Because they badly needed offensive tackles. And I say tackles because I thought they needed 2.I didn’t think the Chiefs had interest in Campbell. That didn’t seem like a very Chiefs pick especially in the first round. Furthermore, if somebody would have leapfrog the eagles to trade with the Chiefs and took Campbell, I think the Chiefs knew that the Eagles were a team that could take Simmons at 32 ahead of them. Simmons made sense with lane’s age, prospect that fell due to injury his last year and has traits stoutland likes. I don’t think chiefs wanted to move further back except with eagles and they asked the eagles who they were trying to trade up for ( was in the video the eagles released). Once it wasn’t Simmons they were fine doing it.
Yesterday at 05:59 AM1 day To each their own. I’m very focused on the OC now. Rehashing the last draft doesn’t interest me. Campbell seemed very promising. We’ll see what happens next season. OC is next then other coaching changes then free agency and draft.
