Jaelen Phillips is kinda of under discussed. Signing him to an extension at around $20M per year is possible but kind of hard to imagine with Carter, Davis, Smith and Hunt needing new contracts soon and that doesn’t even include Mitchell and DeJean.

I think Phillips gets something stupid from a bottom feeder team.

In my opinion, he is way too big of an injury risk, so much so that he had to go to therapy because he became depressed from the injuries. He also almost retired in college because of a bad injury to his wrist (not a football-related injury but still).

I would only do a one year deal with him. I think he is an awesome player but, the guy could get another serious injury and decide to retire. I'm sure he will get more than 1 year deal but, that is the only way I'd bring him back.

Yeah, given the frame of limited resources I can see Howie getting outbid for Phillips. He might still be somewhat comfortable rolling the dice again on Nolan/Jalyx and a TBD journeyman with the trade deadline as a backstop.

I suspect Howie is playing the comp pick game again.

Nolan Smith should not be considered at this point when talking about signing Philips. Nolan can't stay healthy.

Any idea what Bradley Chubb might cost? 8.5 sacks on a bad MIA defense last season coming off an ACL… would seem to be a better version of the Z.Smith play.
