With 8 openings for head coaches, the big name guys are clearly in no rush. I wouldn't be shocked if we see a long process where the Eagles are interviewing a bunch of meh candidates while the head coaching searches work themselves out. I know McDaniel has interviewed for OC jobs, but I don't think Kingsbury or Daboll have. It's going to be an annoyingly long process.

I'm not bummed about it. Don't think that move would have gotten us over the hump of a very mediocre outfield, an annually injured Harper, and whoever they would have had at catcher. What should have been done was to trade Ranger last season for starting outfield help or a 3rd baseman.

I for one am positively stunned the first OC interview is a guy who operates almost exclusively out of the shotgun, and uses pre-snap motion the most.

It's almost like Lurie and Howie have a type.

Isn't Scheelhasse similar to what people thought about Robinson 2 years ago? I debate whether a guy who learned from 2 years of experience albeit flawed would be better than a guy who doesn't have any experience.

In any case I hope for better than either. I think a super young guy would be risky

Mayock threw out David Shaws name for the OC position. Before being head coach for Stanford, he was OC for Harbaugh and is currently passing game coordinator for the Lions. Didnt realize he was with the Eagles in 97. I dont know what offense he would bring but he certainly has experience and Detroits pass game seems to scheme open receivers

Said before I liked Shaw at Stanford but it's pretty telling that Detroit doesn't seem all that interested in him for their opening

I'm a little shocked that Kevin Stefanski hasn't garnered more attention for HC jobs. I think he's only interviewed with Miami and Atlanta, and he seems to not be a serious candidate in Miami. He dealt with that dumpster fire in Cleveland well I thought. Never imagined he was a realistic OC option, but who knows.

He's done a lot more than that, it's just been awhile.

He interviewed with Baltimore, Giants, Titans and Raiders too.
