He isn't some young up and coming offensive mind, he is 45 years old.

Darnold was a washed up journeyman with a career passer rating in the low 80's. One year with McCown as his QB coach in O'Connell's offense and he put up 4,300 yds, 35 TDs, and a 102 passer rating. Now obviously you could make the argument that it was mostly McConnell's and his OC's influence and McCown was just riding their coat tails, but that's usually the type of risk you have to take with guys like this since you're always gonna be limited in your ability to poach guys from an established offensive system for a coordinator position.

Just go out and get McDaniel so this isn't even a concern. He seems to be universally desired by all(including the Eagles).

Need Lurie and Howie to bail out Philly sports right now, because the baseball team certainly isn't going to do it. While one owner wouldn't match a certain price, I hope Lurie will just flat out outbid everyone for McDaniel. "This offense was brutal and I never want to go through that again."

Well the Phillies will choke no matter who they play because that's just what they do, but the Dodgers are not some juggernaut everyone thinks they are. Everyone's just butt hurt and up in their feelings because they keep signing guys who aren't even that good to begin with.

What? They just won 2 WS in a row and added a fantastic closer and the best FA on the market with a lineup that was already good. That's a juggernaut. On paper nobody is close.

Tucker is not that great and Diaz is just flat out bad. He was awful with the Mets. He can't throw strikes. He's too wild. And them "winning" WS was more luck than anything. They are not blowing teams out, they don't even finish with the best record and they don't for a reason. Come playoff time they get all the calls because MLB wants the top market team(and now globally because of Ohtani) on the biggest stage. And those calls end up being the difference. Their "great lineup" was totally made to look foolish against the Phillies pitching.

Player for player I'd easily take the Phillies roster with Bichette over the Dodgers and to me it isn't remotely close.

Yea but his ability to call plays is a complete unknown. I have a hard time seeing Eagles do that again with how bad it just was with Patullo.

Sometimes I think the trade drama might $ motivated… say he’s slipping, the best way to maximize his remaining earnings is take the free money from us and then get a top end contract from another team which is leveraged by the trade deal.

I tend to not believe anything from BGN, basically one step above Crossing Broad.

That's something that would've been leaked somehow during the season, if it really was multiple times. Not that it's out of the question that he would, I just don't believe he did.

True, I guess my hope is that being on the other end of play calling and sequencing would give him more insight than your average patullo who has never done anything worth a damn ever.

If true he can't be on the team next year no matter the cap. Based on his lack of effort I wouldn't be surprised at all. Anybody think he "dropped" some passes on purpose or just didn't try at all and tanked the team and season?

Yeah that is a huge reach. I have 0.0 interest in McCown as OC or anyone else that has not been a play caller before.
