For weeks he was saying don't sign Phillips, he isn't worth 20+ million a year. Then Phillips signs for 30 million a year and he is whining about how much worse the Eagles are at edge rusher and that the Eagles are going to take a big step back when the offseason is only 2 hours old. Those shows entire goal is rage bait and get people to react.

Watching today makes me want them to have flexibility to draft BPA or trade back.Fred isn’t that good. I really want to see what Hinton and Williams do.
March 9Mar 9 Chubb on a two year deal is the move to make now. Doesn't count against the comp pick formula, from a pure sacks standpoint his production is as good or better than Phillips, and it won't effect cap space they will need for future extensions if they can get it done for only two years. Unless Vic wants no parts of him it's the most obvious move to make at this point. I just don't see them giving massive money to someone like Oweh or Hendrickson and going cheap again like they did last off-season isn't going to cut the mustard. I would consider Kwity Paye but it would have to be less than the expected market value.

A hard cap means you only have so much money to pay everyone, and nobody would have been on board with paying Phillips $30M AAV or even Dotson at $7.5M per. We'll see what Dean and Goedert get, but I suspect it will be more than most Eagles fans want to pay them........................ now, just watch Howie sign Hendrickson to a contract at about 1/2 of what Phillips got ................Doesn't have to be signing guys, it could be trades or whatever. Just saying in general, if you rely on released players to fix your issues, most of them probably won't be adequately fixed. Released players should be safety net type guys, not key guys, barring rare circumstance where some star in their prime is released. Right now the Eagles biggest need on the roster is Edge. I said weeks ago if they didn't sign Phillips this would be an issue because they need to load up on offense in the draft and now they have a mega need at Edge in a very deep Edge draft. If they don't address it in free agency, may have to do it in round 1 in April and that means waiting to address OT may have to be pushed back yet another year.

March 9Mar 9 Why bother showing the comp pick compensation this early? It will change quite a bit after free agency is done.

If they can sign a Chubb or trade for Greenard ok that makes sense. However, if it results in them signing another Ojulari and Uche, F that.

I would be beyond stunned. Every single beat reporter to a man has said they likely will focus heavily on OL in the draft and the players they've met with so far in the process points to that. Obviously the board has to fall their way, but I think ideally they take two OL in the first few rounds in April. However, if Edge is their top need heading into a draft with a really good Edge class then maybe they go Edge.
