I also think we could see Campbell on the outside more with Trotter or, more interestingly Mondon, coming on the field.Completely disagree. Howie obviously does as well or he wouldn't have given up a 3rd round pick for Phillips and then tried to re-sign him long term. Nolan Smith has been in the league for three years and has been both injury prone and inconsistent having shown starter level play/production for half a season of those three years. Jalyx Hunt has been better and has massive upside but he is far from a sure thing as well. Campbell is too small to play even a semi-regular role as an edge rusher and again if that was in the cards Howie isn't trading for Phillips and then trying to re-sign him. Don't kid yourself, edge rusher is a massive need for this team.

They don’t have a 1st in 2026 or 2027. Don’t see picks or players they could sens back that makes it work.
March 10Mar 10 The packers don’t have a first round pick. Also a report on the Cowboys interest in Patrick Queen said the eagles called about him which makes little sense to me but the eagles are mentioned in any possible trade

If they can’t trade Parsons and have no firsts for 2 years, it’s essentially impossible for them offer enough capital to initiate a discussion. And if they weren’t intending to keep Carter, I really figure they would have made more of a push for Philips.
March 10Mar 10 Easton Butler is not a legitimate insider. Stop posting crap from fake accounts like RickeyScoops and the like.

Front 7 done. But…I’m the captain of the Nolan Smith bandwagon and I’m still not sure he’s going to stick here or stay healthy. Hunt is a great story but still not consistent. And Campbell…he’s really shown nothing as an upfield rusher at all so far.I actually think the safest part of the above assumption is one of Mondon or Trott Jr playing well as a starting off ball LB…but for the reasons outlined above, they are probably just going to sit the bench behind Campbell anyway.

We saw what happened last year starting with same players. Not so worried about safety yet. Reed was replaceable. They need to find a replacement but that seems doable and we have LBs
March 10Mar 10 What’s the Jets cap situation like? Do they have any players to pay? There are just delivery trucks taking their former fist round picks all over the nfl.
March 10Mar 10 In favor of giving Campbell another look as an edge, sometimes the lighter edges really struggle in year 1. Nolan Smith and Josh Sweat (he’s bigger now but don’t forget he was a skinny 250) had no idea how to harness their speed and leverage their lack of gravity. Reddick had the same issue for 4 years before breaking out. These smaller guys with lighting burst can’t even use it when they are still learning to use speed to power against giant OTs and are swimming with other adjustments in NFL defenses.Campbell was used sparingly (but still with notable volume) as an edge in 2025 with uninspiring results. But it’s not crazy to suggest another look, considering the adjustment period these types often need. The specs are there and the college highlights of him putting OTs in slow motion are there too. Just look at Dean blitzing last year. He was always a nice off ball LB, but that ferocity pursuing the QB came out of nowhere.

We have been fortunate with him because it was supposed to take a few years to get anything from him. I've read some say this is a good class for DEs and others say it's eh. Hopefully, Vic can see another gem for them to grab.
