I assume by 12th you mean 16th?

I stand corrected.

He's light years better than what we had at CB2 on a prove it deal. This isnt a stiff hip Ringo clone.

This is a large 1 year prove it deal too. Jackson was better last year. At 1/6th the cost.

Take away from Vic is that Phillips sounds like the only guy they tried to keep and lost.

Yep. They wanted Phillips back pretty badly and the others, he was like, "good for them.”

Will we be better positioned to take the deadcap medicine next year? Probably not, but we don’t have a TE1 either.

If the Eagles are already negotiating with Greenard’s agent I wonder if they have already agreed to compensation. Usually it doesn’t get that far unless you’ve agreed to that or are close to it.

Yea we absolutely would be. I said in a previous post this year we have $20M in dead cap tied up in Bradberry and Slay who haven’t played a snap in years. Taking the brunt of Goederts dead money in 2027 would smooth things over.

What happens when Lane retires?

Yeah Carolina just paid a ridiculous amount. I liked the impact Phillips had a lot but truth be told he wasn’t the type of rusher you counted on in a big moment to get a sack. Those are are the 30+ guys to me

Also sounded like Vic was in on Woolen at least

I didnt see that. Not necessarily. I have heard that teams that have players available will often let them talk to prospective teams to see if they can reach a contractual agreement. Can affect how much they are willing to trade.

Shady smoking something tonight, what's he on about? 🤣 And the replies lol

Whatever we pay for Greenard if we do I guarantee people will complain about it.

If it costs a 2 and say 28 million for Greenard would you shift to Crosby for a 1 and a conditional pick in 2027?

When they won a SB some probably thought they won't win next year

That’ll be me. Don’t want. FA has been good as is.

I'd focus on the draft and vets for depth at edge and getting a good safety. They don't need a big name.

Depends. Assuming OTC and Spotrac are correct, if he retires next year it’s $25M in dead cap. They can take it all but would likely just file his papers after June 1 so it would be $12M in cap space in 2027 and $13M in cap space in 2028.

So it should depend on how 2026 goes. If they are blowing up and rebuilding the offense, rip off the whole band aid asap. If they want to to compete in 2027, rip off half the band aid.

Yeah I don't really have interest in trading a day 2 pick for Greenard and then paying him a new deal. Guy is about to turn 29.

While true dummies talked about repeats and dynasties

Seems manageable

Goedert is still a good player when he plays but he’s not the blocker he was. Or at least last year he wasn’t

I would rather save cap and pay our own guys

Carpet bomb olb in the draft if we must
