I think the Barkley and Jurgens extensions were intensely sentimental and based on the emotions of coming off a SB. Granted, doing these things brings value in that you gain the loyalty and respect of players, not just the two you are signing. So I understand it for that reason. But I can't fathom doing the Jurgens extension knowing he had this going on with his back. Granted, it looks cold if you don't. He just poured his heard out risking injury for you to win a SB...so I get the pressure.

I don’t usually get personal on here, but your post hit me. I’ve been where you are. I’ve had a couple suicide attempts in my past and spent time in inpatient treatment afterward. I’m still in therap

So that post isn't anywhere on that guy's page, perhaps deleted it after he realized AJ doesn't actually have a home in Philly, he may have fell for the parody account that posted click bait. Also scrolling that guy's twitter, he's a Boston beat writer who is obsessed with promoting the idea of trading for AJ Brown and lapped up every rumor just like WIP clowns.

Which draft decision would shock you more?

A. Drafting a safety in the 1st round

B. Not drafting an Edge player at all

C. Not drafting an OT at all

D. Not drafting a TE at all

First round safety or EDGE.

They need an edge and love to go heavy there in the draft, but I don't think we've seen the last of the moves there in free agency/trades so technically I could see a world where we trade for Greenard and are "fine there". Still think even then they'd throw some darts in the late rounds.

I can't even remember the last time they drafted a safety in the first, and they just invested a second in Mukuba. Even that was kind of out of character. It's just not a position they prioritize nearly as much and have bigger fish to fry IMO. There are a few very intriguing prospects who could be available at 23 though so never say never though...

Couldn't ask a player like Cam to play with a herniated disc in the playoffs, then NOT pay him afterwards. That's how you get mercenaries.

I agree. I think if the right edge rusher falls to them in round 1 or 2 they will take him but otherwise I would expect them to address that with a veteran. It still could be before the draft but if they come out of the draft without one I could see older ring chasers like Bosa and Clowney still hanging around for the right opportunity. Anyone they draft in round 3 or later is highly unlikely to have an immediate impact so it's pretty much address it before the draft, address it with one of the first two picks, or sign someone after the draft.

Bosa, Clowney, Floyd, and Fowler are all still available and could possibly be waiting until after the draft to sign.

It’s not April yet, soon enough.

I’d say A. They never done it in history.

B wouldn’t be that shocking to me IF they trade picks for a proven vet.

C would be pretty surprising but with Fred back maybe they want to develop Hinton and Williams more + the board just didn’t fall their way.

D would just be the board didn’t fall their way and they didn’t reach

That's because apparently they never have in their franchise history. I didn't realize until just looking it up they've never taken a safety in the 1st. It's hard to tell with older drafts when they list them as "DB" instead of distinguishing between CB and Safety. But ChatGPT said they've never drafted a safety in the 1st. If someone listed as a DB was actually a safety then that would count of course. But I'm not digging that much into it.

The Dickerson and Jurgens contracts aren’t that big of a deal that’s being made. Dickerson signed last year and Howie structured it to have an easy out in 2027 if things don’t work out. And that was before the retirement talks and restructure.

Jurgens they got done at a good time consider Linderbaum is making like double after this FA.

Good fact checking. He's gotta be butt hurt after that. Maybe he can have RTR come by and massage his V for him

Not worried about Jurgens. Dickerson is concerning. Hopefully he has a good healthy season and feels good about coming back in '27

ESP got an award too roll

When he gets traded after June 1st are you going to come to the board and admit you were full of crap, or just run and hide.

I guess this would apply if I thought ESP actually believed his hot takes.

If he's traded he's traded. I want him on the team. He makes the offense better and the qb better

Motivated and playing hard, sure he makes the team better. Pissed off, pouting, and giving a half assed effort he makes the team worse as seen in the playoff game where he flat out quit on the team.

I'd be pissed off too if I had to play with a QB who's constantly inconsistent and shows regression in the passing game every year. How would you feel @HazletonEagle? You've posted some great stuff lately

I agree with this and what T1k said about him needing to be motivated. With how expensive WRs are getting his contract doesn't look bad IF he is playing hard. I have to trust they see the wisdom in doing all they can to sell him on the new system and mending fences. I also have to trust them if they trade him that wasn't possible and they wouldn't have done so otherwise.

I think I said it yesterday. Pats very well might end up grabbing a guy they like in the draft and signing Diggs on a cheaper deal. Then AJ plays his last year with the Eagles this upcoming season
