How’s my day been? Thanks for asking. Have a guy in from Allentown for business. Business partner was supposed to pick him up in Charlotte and travel with him today, then I had him tomorrow and Wednesday. Got the call late yesterday, business partner is sick, I needed to take over today. Fine. Stop to pick up coffee this morning on the way to get him, slam my finger in the car door. Blood immediately gushing everywhere, including my car seat, middle finger mangled. Rush home to bandage it and immobilize it, head to Charlotte, pain incredible. Pick him up, drive him back, suffer through lunch, drop him at hotel, head straight to the doctor. Middle finger broken, even worse, blood is pooling under the nail so they had to drill a hole in it to drain it. Lasted a split second, but good golly did that F’ing hurt. Now have to go meet him for dinner. We get bandaged up then go back in the game and play hurt when we have to.

I had my hand slammed in the hood of my f250 years ago. The shock holding it up gave out and it slammed and latched shut. Had to call my dad on the phone to come unlatch it cause I couldn't reach the front of the truck. 

Had a bruise for the day and that was about it

 

When I was 10 (give or take) I slammed my finger in a car door.   Nail fell off within hours.

 

But I didn't run to the internet to whine about it.

3 Theories I came up with while  that you may appreciate:

 

#1: When it comes to competitions with a prize, Britta is the GOAT.

Paintball 1: Second Place (eliminated at the same time as Chang)

Paintball 2: Third Place (Not including mercenaries, eliminated in the security cart taking out the main gun)

Floor is Lava: Winner (Troy forfeited) 

 

#2: Abed doesn't have Asperger's, Abed is the only person aware they are in a TV show.  By relating everything around him to TV tropes helps him navigate this reality.  And there are other clues that support this.  For example, even when he imagines an alternate, TV based reality in S4E1, the theme song is VERY similar to the actual tv show.  Episode numbers are written on a chalkboard in the library. Not to mention, the end credit scene of the Finale..... 

 

#3: Annie is the ass crack bandit.  For the longest time I thought it was Britta (Her lame sense of humor aligns with cracking, she typed "Ass Crack Britta" before correcting it, stole quarters from Frankies car) but there were two scenes that point to Annie.  At the end of the episode in season 4 when the ass crack bandit disappears, Annie corrects Jeff "Or Her" (followed by a look of concern) for assuming the bandit is a dude.   In another episode (season 6?),  and the mere mention of the Ass Crack Bandit makes Annie uncomfortable.  Also, she was by far the most invested in finding the culprit but was also very quick to drop it when the dean tried to pin it on starburns.  She’s down this before, like pinning the broken Batman dvd on their landlord.

I wrote this pretty quickly and forgot a few other thoughts on the ass crack bandit.

1) Annie, like Britta, has a very "lame" idea about jokes\pranks.  Where as Britta thought putting a sombrero on a frog would be funny (and then knocking a cadavar out a window ), Annie thought pranking the dean would be moving his stapler 4 inches to give him a creepy feeling someone was in his office.  

2) One thing I didn't consider prior.... what if the ass crack bandit wasn't a single person like in Scream?  One thing that was mentioned when Annie was playing detective was how 2 crack took place in a very short timeframe.  Annie surmised that the bandit cut through the teachers lounge and therefore must be a faculty member.  If Annie and Britta were both in on it, they would be able to do the two cracking in that period of time WITHOUT having access to the lounge.

3) Finally, why would Annie be the "lead" investigator?  The obvious answer is to throw people off her trail.  But also, it was an excuse to buddy up with Jeff.  She still was crushing on him at this point (Season 6 it kind of flips.  Annie is the adult and Jeff has the schoolboy crush)

While at this point we have raised sufficient funds, much of that money was still surplus from our original crowd sourcing project when this place was founded originally almost 3 years ago. We had enough then to pay for the board for 2 years, AND have a chunk left over for year 3.  But what that means is that we have had little to no monetary support from nearly all of our members during all that time in the interim. That resulted in needing a bit of an awareness campaign to show members the "Store" tab and re-introduce the affiliate links to members who forgot, or somehow missed them initially.

With a few clutch gofundme donations and solid success raising awareness of the links, we have seen a boost in usage of the amazon link earning the funding to support the boards for another year.

However, after this bill is paid, and going in to year 4, we will not have that surplus funding anymore. This time, we will be starting from almost $0.

In my opinion it is still important to make the gofundme donation. We only have 11 total donations! Thats not encouraging for the sustainability of this place.

I am planning to make a gofundme donation a yearly task that I will do each March, with the bills due in April. I humbly ask that anyone who can,  please do the same. Lets raise some money now so that we don't need to worry about it leading up to next year's due date. 

A small donation from a lot of people this March, and next March should go a long way towards ensuring the sustainability of this EMB for years to come. Id love to see it not be a yearly struggle so lets all do our small part.
