Just got back from my mother's oncologist. They're really happy with the results of her latest CT Scan. All of the cancer has reduced a little. So a really good report.

  • Proud of this girl.  Eleventy billion push ups, sit ups, squats, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, planks, combinations, self defenses and weapon katas later in the cold and wind she earned her black

  • I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in November. They removed my thyroid gland right before Thanksgiving. Post surgical blood test showed a thyroid globulin number of a 6, which is above the threshold

As you all (or at least many of you) may know, my mother's been battling stage 4 lung cancer since 2019 (along with multiple strokes along the way). Today we went to her oncologist for her monthly appointment, and the doctor said a word that she's never said to us before... "Remission", so my mother's cancer is in remission.

This is her second oncologist. The first one decided that she (my mother), should be on hospice to 'enjoy her last days' and refused to continue treating her. That was 2 years ago.

We ought to go into that other office with a boom box blasting:

Above is my post from May 10th.

A week or so ago, we went in for another CT scan to check on the cancer and today we had the appointment with the oncologist. The CT scan came back clean. After 5 years and 2 months of chemo, the cancer is gone.

She has to keep taking the oral chemo pills, to keep it gone. But the cancer no longer shows up in the CT scan.

Yeah, and to think that had we listened to her first oncologist, she'd likely not be here anymore.

There's still daily health struggles, but nothing that we can't handle. We've found that 'Gabapentin' is a miracle sort of drug and really helps for various ailments.

I haven’t logged on in a very long time.  Sorry to see this, but glad you’re doing well.  You’re a badass Iggles fan, and cancer is a p****!  You’re obviously going to continue kicking its ukn’ ass in.  Best of luck for continued recovery and good news!

Thanks, and glad to see you on the board. She's been fighting this cancer (Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer), since June of 2019. It's been a hard battle for her to fight (being in her upper 80s now), but she's hanging tough and taking it head on, day by day.

Shoot, I bet.  I wish you, her, and your family all the best.  She’s a hell of a badass pulling that uppercut in her late 80’s!

I think thats who we would be if we just listened to Dave Spadaro and went to reddit.

I think we found a younger hotter version over here.

Every time I see spadaro on tv.... I think that the fool made his career off of us. Then I spit at the tv.

Incidently.... I need a new TV.

Remember when Katie Sunshine went to a Phillies game and danced on the Phillies dugout with the Phanatic?  Were we responsible for that?
