Just got back from my mother's oncologist. They're really happy with the results of her latest CT Scan. All of the cancer has reduced a little. So a really good report.

Di, she's #3. Just turned 2 and a half earlier this month but has the attitude of a teenager sometimes. All it takes is for her to shoot me a grin like the one in the picture and she'll get away with damn near anything.

Fun age!

I used to get the "talk to the hand”. Thing.  Just cherish it.  It could be gone in an instant so you need to record it for future times.  Thank you for sharing.  It truly does help me knowing there is still happiness in the world!!! My daughter made a video of her dad that I play almost daily.  Brings me great peace and joy.   I would post it here if I knew how.

This weekend was a haze.  I feel like I didn't stop moving all weekend, everything moved in slow motion, it was over in a blur, and I didn't do a damned thing all at the same time.  We had a day of outside visitation on Saturday for friends and family to stop by to pay respects to my dad and offer their comforting words at my mom's house.  Sunday evening we had a small service for immediate family only.  The service was recorded and shared with family and friends for viewing afterwards.  Damn Covid forced us to alter our plans, but we made the best of the situation that we could and I think Dad would've enjoyed the way it all came together.

Outside of the visitation times, I spent the weekend setting up tents, chairs, etc., tearing stuff down, working on trying to fix the slide out on my mom's 5th wheel to sell it (included tearing up and re-building the floor, re-attaching wiring for the lights that to be cut to repair the flooring, etc), changing flood light that blew out, making sure her golf cart, tractor, etc. were fueled up and ready for use, burning trash, cleaning up around the house, showing her how to shut off the main power and water feeds to the house in case of emergency, locating parts for the Kubota that is torn apart so a friend can finish working on it, figuring out the combination to Dad's gun safe, and putting mom's house and garage back together after the gatherings and services were finished, etc.  There is so much more I wish I had time to do for her this weekend, and I feel like I didn't do anything at all but she and my wife both keep telling me I didn't stop moving when we didn't have company so I'm not sure who to believe.

PSA of the day: This is NOT a giant mosquito. This is a Crane fly - If you see a lot of these guys around, there is a reason. We are having a population explosion due to all the rain we had this year. They eat mosquito larva and do no harm. They are not gigantic mosquitoes that have come to suck the soul out of you. Let them be.

you did. it's called 'shark mode', where you feel like you have to keep moving/doing something or 'drown' like sharks do. i still do it but prime example was always with wife #2 when we would do anything with her side of the family. i would go into shark mode to avoid contact with them (ie. packing up non stop on the morning we were leaving a reunion while she was trying to enjoy the last moments with her family...) it's avoidance but it can be used for a good thing though.

so this is what my posts look like to you normal people.  riddle me this; why is the speed limit entering Birdsboro so much slower than the speed limit to exit Birdsboro.  Take a look next time.

About 8 years ago.  I was mowing, in the heat of the summer when I lived in Altoona.  Ran over a ground nest.  Got stung in the nostril.  Sneezed off and on for hours.  Anyway, i had to mow again about 6 days later.  Still hot.  I said F this.  Wore my coveralls and a Mike Myers mask and goggles.  I wasn't getting stung again.  It was hot, but I didn't get stung.  Anyway I got to thinking.  Imagine being a neighbor and looking out your kitchen window, to see Michael Myers mowing a lawn.  They probably thought I was a nutcase.....

I didn't sneeze just talked with a lisp for a couple of hours
