I’m embarrassed for our corners because that must have worked in practice.

I don't have an issue with that play for 2 reasons:

1-If Wentz recognized Butler wasn't fully covered and called for a quick snap that's an easy TD.

2-That was textbook DPI that for some reason they decided not to throw the flag.

They got the mismatch they wanted and it took a missed penalty to make the play ineffective.

Honestly, I would have preferred they ran that play on 3rd down instead of 4th, but it was there to be had.

It worked here to draw a DPI.  The flag just got stuck in the zebra's pocket.  Atrocious noncall, especially with what they called earlier and later.  Highly inconsistent.

I was fine with the no call until they called LeBlanc five minutes later.

Butler was so passive that he gave the ref the out. If he showed any effort, easy call IMO.

Lost in how great that throw was from Wentz...

Scott made a great grab, and the not good enough backup RB made a big play.  He finished 92 scrimmage yards and a TD.

Clement had 21 yards on three touches.

I liked what little we saw of Huntley.  Too bad Carson missed him on the wide open screen.  But he is quick with excellent burst.  Hope to see more of him, but we probably won't.   Scott came through.

Hard to say if that was on Wentz or on Huntley being too late to realize he was the hot read.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it live.  The pass may have been slightly under thrown but no one on the NFL level attempts a full blown basket catch on that play as if he was on a go route, 30 yards out and wide open.  You need to get your arms up and go after that ball every time.

Jake is officially on the hot seat.  Only 8 of 12 on FGs this season and since his rookie SB season has only been 5 of 13 from 50+.  He could do with some competition.

I listened to the first half on Westwood One Radio in the car, got home at halftime and watched the second half on FOX.  That was about as ugly a win as you can possibly get; the Eagles offense looked absolutely lost when it got to the red zone.  Any efficiency at all near the goal line, and the game wouldn’t have been close.

Ross Tucker was really critical of Wentz’s decision making in the first half and called him out on at least three really bad throws.  Without seeing the plays with my own eyes I just need to take his word for it — but the INT was really bad.  I saw that one replayed during halftime.

DJax can be shut down for the rest of the season IMO.  I feel better with Hightower running the deep routes and getting more snaps.  The guy gets open, and his deep catch turned the game around.

The OL was not very good at all tonight, but Wentz needs to make the throws as drawn up, on time.  He’s definitely holding the ball too long, which isn’t helping.

Team needs to sell and lose for a better pick at this point. Play the kids. Develop as much talent as possible for next year.

I'd rather win every game and hoist another Lombardi Trophy in February.

good.  it's one thing to miss 50+ yarders, it's another to miss chip shots.  at home.

Play of the night (possibly the year) right here...

elliott's always been weekly with me.  he's never been a guy i've seen as "automatic".  especially on the chip shot kicks.

Maybe he's still not 100% recovered from that pec tear

Don't you understand that as an Eagles fan, you're supposed to **** and complain about everything and stop looking for rational explanations? You must be new here.

I used to like Alex Henery a lot — and he went off the rails very quickly once it started to go

Seriously. That’s soft as heck. You’re a TE now. Grow a pair.

What? Why wouldn’t he be back there down one score late in the game when the only other option is Greg Ward fair catching?

Yup. Seriously, some people just want to complain about every little damn things. Of COURSE you're going to put Jackson back there in a situation late in the game where you're looking for a big play.

We really do have a lot of stupid fans.

I was stunned the Eagles didn’t snap the ball while Butler was standing out there by himself

He was only like that (with the 'chip shots') his rookie season.  He was only 4 of 7 from 30-39 yards, but 5 of 6 from 50+ yards.  That's how he got the reputation of being good at long distance, but a toss up at the mid range stuff.  Since then he's only missed one kick from 30-39, though he missed a 29yd one tonight.  IMO, most kickers have about a 3 year shelf life then just fall off a cliff for whatever reason.  You do get the rare guy who just stays consistent and is dependable for 10-12+ years, but that's the outlier.  The norm is to get a new kicker every few years.  This (or next) might be the year to get a new kicker.

Cody parkey and Caleb Sturgis also

yeah, with kickers, it's a LOT mental.  they could be automatic, but miss one crucial or gimme kick, and never be consistent the rest of their career.

with jake, he is just on or off.  one week, he'd nail everything...  another week, he'll be like tonight and miss something easy.  it's even more glaring because it's at home.  it won't be easier than that.

i miss the days of prime david akers.  we really did not have to worry about fg's or extra points.  ever since then, we've had to deal with streaky kickers or kickers like jake which aren't consistent.

Yup. This idea you automatically get better by losing is ridiculous

I'm a 100% Doug Pederson guy but you kick the extra point there 100% of the time with 40 seconds left.  Like 1000 times out of 1000 times.

How the hell is being up by two points better than being up one point in this situation? Going up 23-21 means nothing. Up 24-21 and your chance of victory goes way up.

Basic math.

Glass half full is what? Lane, Peters, Driscoll, Ertz, Goedert, DJax, Reagor, Sanders, Alshon all return for offense? Missing anyone? Maybe Brooks as a long shot.

i mean, sixers WERE on the right path until silver and some guy with dracula collars ran that into the ground.
