So Vinny Curry played 20 snaps and Avery played 0.  Curry played OK but I just hate seeing guys who need to develop pushed down for a guy with no future here.  That's a 4th round pick wasted.

This team is a such a laughable mess.  Carson played his a** off, but contributed to the mess at times by pressing too hard and not playing smart.  However, when he needs to be on it, the kid is on it and takes his team on his back.  He just needs a little better coaching and some better and consistent talent around him to put less pressure on him.  Some of Doug's coaching decisions felt desperate and generic and were detrimental to his team.

I don't see why the team are so high on Opeta. Looked lost out there and marginally better than Brown.  Lane did what he did for the team, but will affect his longevity?

That said, the Giants are an even bigger mess aren't they?  You could see Jones starting to blowing up on that run when he looked at the big screen.  That play epitomises that franchise.

Whew.

I wasnt a fan of his , I thought he benefited from a quick release QB and lining up with 4 good OL.

But I'm shocked how bad he has been, was supposed to be the most pro ready OT in the draft, plug and play.

QB Daniel Jones reached 21.23 MPH on his epic, unforgettable 80-yard run vs the #Eagles, the fastest speed reached by any QB as a ball carrier since 2018, per

. The longest run by a QB who didn’t score on the play since at least 1975.

I missed it fell asleep

i think this proves that MPH/40 times and such are vastly overrated.  You're telling me that Daniel Jones with his 4.82 is faster than Lamar Jackson's 4.34 or Kyler Murray's 4.31??

I don't even know what to make of that Jones run. I mean literally the defense parted like the red sea and there was nothing in front of him.

The most bizzare play ever.

Cuz Ward just catches it. They were looking for a decent return I’m sure. I’ve been critical of Jackson but man both of those hits he took on that play were dirty. At his age I hope that wasn’t career ending.

Would you rather have had the fair catch now or a crumpled up DJax?  As fragile as he is, there is no reason to subject him to the punishment that comes with any special teams.  I get the concept and, in his day, he was a great returner.   This was Doug's worst call of the evening and it may be career ending.

Same. I had him ranked 4th of the big 4. I loved Becton. Yes he was raw, but like Mailata, you just can't teach those measurables. Becton blocks guys just by standing there.

Giants are also missing Xavier McKinney. That's a big loss in their backend. He would have taken out Rodgers.

Being late to meetings and I think fighting with teammates, sounds like mentally he's not into it. Crazy how much it plays a factor.

Go back and watch BG on that play

OK I shall thanks bud!

Also... I haven't seen a lot said about that awful decision by Doug to throw the challenge flag late on that Slayton 3rd down catch? Was it just one of those things?

WR Thoughts:

Ward is a slot WR, speed is irrelevant, quickness, routes and hands are key (remember Amendola?). He's good in that role.

DeSean will be missed, he was getting open consistently and actually catches the ball, speed is nice, experience and speed and actual skills is nicer. Hightower is a year or two and a better set of hands away from being a starting WR.

Rodgers actually looked good in the Ertz role.

Mailata played OK, better than he was projected earlier in the season.  At this point, Peters can take all his time to recover.  More game time for Mailata is better.

Fulgham played well.  Wentz has trust in him and looked for him when the plays broke down.  That is chemistry to build on.

DJax's time is ending soon.  His number was called at the beginning, but faded after.  The hits he took on that punt return were bad and he may not return from the injury.

They should just put Lane on IR now and give him the time to recover fully.  Risking him less than 100% will just extend the injury time and/or long-term problem.

Wentz made too many mistakes.  Granted that he was trying to make the most out of the plays.  But the INT and cross field pass were rookie mistakes that he should not make.  OL and the receivers not opening contributed to Wentz's problems.  The coaches have to get him not to hold the ball too long and/or forcing the ball into tight coverage.

Hurts in the game had not produced much.  His presence in the plays already threw away any surprise factors.  If they want to use him in surprise plays, better design some good schemes and practise them well before bring it on.

Thanks for adding the Hurts info. I think we need to run some straight plays for him as I agree the surprise is gone now.

Otherwise, looks like you agree with what I posted.

They aren't playing game to develop, they're playing to win

Facts are the devil known is better then the one you dont.

Next year's top pick can be the Jaguars and he could tear every ligament in his body tomorrow.

You dont pass up generational changing money, there is ZERO chances he stays in college.

The first sentence just makes no sense.

the second is too unrealistic to bother with. It’s like saying we could all die tomorrow. Sure, but that’s how you want to make decisions now?

the third demonstrates again what you just don’t understand. He would be staying in a college where he is as near a god on earth as you can be, potentially winning a national championship and building his brand, and he’s not "passing up” generational money- he’s saying I’ll have it next year.  Players have and do that.

the rookie wage scale doesn’t give you "generational money” the way it used to for guys like Bradford. We’re talking about his second contract. The point you’re STILL failing to see is going to a team where he cannot achieve success bottoms the value of that contract out. Thereby denying him your generational money. Just stop and think about it a while

You can do both at once.  Avery showed against the 49ers that he can contribute in a big way.  Giving him zero snaps is maddening.

You aren't taking into account the time it takes for him to get to top speed. Jones is fast but jackson and Murray get to their top speed quicker.

Yea, they definitely hit their top speed quicker.  Do you really think 4.82 is fast though?  I don't consider that fast at all.  It's just one of those weird metrics.

Only if he's racing against me

For those wanting a big back, Jordan Howard has a base salary of $1.75M this year. We would take on the prorated portion of that, which would be essentially meaningless.

Miami has made him a healthy scratch the past two weeks. My guess is he’s traded or cut after the deadline. If we do trade for him, maybe it’s a swap of bottom of the roster stuff.

Since his 2021 salary is $4.975M, it’ll be basically a half-season rental. We can cut him without a cap hit.

Why you gotta be mean to the Dolphins.  I would swap late round picks and give them our starting MLB.

His value would never be higher after his sack last night!

So this is interesting.  He hit his top speed in under 40 yards.

Agreed.  Just a normal solid game by a decent NFL WR.  He might never become a top line WR but he's certainly going to be decent (and already is

When Reagor is healthy and if Hightower can keep catching bombs he will do good things.  Was disappointed Carson missed him a couple times over the middle, especially on the throw to DeSean in the end zone.  Would have to see the play again but it looked like he would have walked in.

BTW... I heard the broadcast and they were talking about him tripping.  He didn't trip, he ran out of gas.

It felt like ridgeway was out there more than 7 snaps. That said in his 7 snaps he finished with 2 tackles and a tackle for loss. I thought he was noticeable during them. Hargrave in 42 snaps had 2 tackles.

21st pick here we come, disaster.
