I don't know about that comparison. While they are/were both reliable, Mahe almost always made the first guy miss. For reals. With Ward, not so much.

Neither was exciting, neither put any fear into the opposing coordinator and made them 'kick away' from them.  That's my benchmark.  And neither made major mistakes back there, though a couple times Ward has driven me crazy in terms of not running up to make a catch on a short punt, and not getting completely away from it when hit the ground.

The field is condensed in the red zone.  Our defense might not reflect it, but its tougher to gain yards, especially running the ball in the red zone if the OL are garbage.   And this team, when it was clicking on all cylinders, was highly TE dependent in the red zone.  Now we are down our top 2 TEs and are throwing in a guy who is switching positions to TE to have the personnel package now.

That is why the play calling needs to be better.

Complaining about Jackson being the punt returner at that moment is sort of like complaining about giving up an empty net goal after pulling your goalie in the last minute. You're losing...it's desperation time...you have to take a risk to try to win the game.

Yup.  Simple calculation.

1) The first sentence is literally a famous saying. It means you're better off doing something thats a guarantee than not.

2) Too unrealistic that the Jaguars are going to suck next year lol. LOL. Ok.

3) I said it before, I'll say it again. No one gives a F about the rookie scale. Being a white, good looking kid in NYC will get you a ton of endorsements.

End this debate. Bet money. 100000% he comes out. 100000000%.

1. No, it isn’t. There is one that you’re trying to say, but you f it up as usual.

2.  Stupid straw man argument and not what I said. Nobody is talking about the jaguars except you. Arguing against yourself isn’t a great look.

3.  Your pretty white boy thing is Strange. Yes the rookie scale matters to people with brains. Question- who made more money, Mahomes from the chiefs or baker mayfield from his progressive endorsement?  Wake up. Dumb hack.

Championship offenses, QBs, think and execute on another, faster level. They get to page 2 before defenses can finish page one. It's why this team still went 10-6 with Chip Kelly. We don't have that anymore. Every year since he's left, the offense has gotten a little slower. Defenses can execute and think faster than this offense. It's why guys seemingly are never open and holes can never seem to be hit. We have to rely on fancy choreography to hope misdirection works. It's why our oline is taking such a pounding. I've written off this season, this coach, and in this setting; this QB.

OK, see you next year.

Still can’t believe Payton said that.

I hear that... but like I mentioned before... you are dealing with so many new parts, its easy to say "better play calling" and another thing to have the players on the field that know the 'better plays', or can execute said plays.  This injury bug has a trickle down effect to play calling.   In the red zone, we love 2 and 3 TE sets... worked a charm in 2017... but they had Ertz, Celek and Burton then.  Now we are trotting out Rodgers, Croom and Butler.  Call the exact same play as in 2017 and chances are, what worked almost every time then will be a big fat failure now.  Is it the play call or the players that changed?

BTW... I heard the broadcast and they were talking about him tripping.  He didn't trip, he ran out of gas.

Yup...and after watching it again last night, I still see him "diving" forward to the ground. Quarterbacks are deemed "down" when they do that. I still maintain it was a horrible decision by the officials to give him the extra five yards.

Hopefully not.

Not surprising given that they couldn't consistently decide what was DPI or not.

Please name someone deemed to be a good play caller that continues to have success without 9 of his starting eleven on offense.

I don't blame Jackson for that injury. Another player gets injured when he's down already. Should have been a penalty

That is probably his last snap as an Eagle. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Howie extends Jackson

God D@mn that was a f...ing dime.

I understand all that, but it's Doug's job to plan accordingly. I know you are not happy with the Hurts zone reads and with the bunch formation runs.

I couldn’t remember if I posted this. Pretty impressive considering what we’re working with.

May need to have a talk with Lane about adjusting his contract. Love the guy, but he's going to be 31 and he has been pretty banged up for two years now. Credit for trying to power through.

I'd rather win every game and hoist another Lombardi Trophy in February.

Sure, I'd like a lot of things that will never happen.

Doug’s scheme is fine. The biggest issue seems to be situationally IMO.

0 for Avery, 0 for Taylor on defense is a fail of player analysis at the midpoint of the season.  Minimal plays on STs is not what a team should expect out of the third and fourth rounds.

I told you, stop running your mouth and start betting money.

You look wayyyy tooo farrrr into EVERYTHING. The Devil Known... is all you need to know. Jaguars and a bunch of of sh!t markets (compared to nyc) are all gonna be top 5 next year)

and No is Mahomes

So, I'll go my 2K on your 500 that he comes out this year. on top of that I'll get the mods in here to impose a year long ban on the loser.

Nobody cares what the f you tell them.  You don’t matter. This is barely english at this point.

The scheme has issues.  The play calling is also an issue, and we also have issues situationally.

One thing I noticed last night is there is plays that guys get open immediately, but the never seem to be the primary read.

0 for Taylor on defense

The fact that he ran Lamar Jackson down on that play last week should have got him on the field.

Anyone have a replay of the 1st down play at the end of the half to DeSean Jackson ??  It looked like Fulgham was wide open across the middle.  Want to see it again.

Really is it even a risk? The man should be able to go out and return a punt without getting hurt, and he is a far better return man than some of our other options. Its a shame, but not a surprise

Next week is the real test.

5:38 in terrible view but looks like Safety was over the top to help

Nope.  They show the play that got them the first down at 5:47, but then they go to the third and ten play.  I am looking for the play right after Fulgham's catch that got them to the 11.  First down play incomplete to DeSean.
