This guy Solak is becoming an arseclown. He writes today, "I wouldn’t have called the Hakeem Butler 4th and 3 fade route, but it was a pretty terrible throw from Carson..."

Yes, he is.

Is it possible Butler did not get to the spot on the field where he was suppose to be and that's why the throw seemed off?

In what way? You would have called a fade to Butler? He also threw the pass too low. Butler is 6-5. Get the ball in the air. It was a bad, bad pass.

It was too low the whole way.

0 for Avery, 0 for Taylor on defense is a fail of player analysis at the midpoint of the season.  Minimal plays on STs is not what a team should expect out of the third and fourth rounds.

Schwartz's biggest downside is talent evaluation.

I assumed it was a back shoulder throw that Butler never made any effort to get back to. Didnt see anything wrong with the throw.

I need to go back and look at that play again.  Why wasn't the ball snapped while Butler was standing out there alone?

Zzzzzzz you're literally bringing nothing to the table. ZERO CHANCE Lawrence stays in. Have a good one

Yep because he could never pass up being the next in a long line of dominant jets qbs. What kid wouldn’t want to be the next chad Pennington/geno Smith/Mark Sanchez/Sam darnold. I mean my god the endorsements, the wealth!  Geno smiths great great grandkids never have to work a day from all those Nike billboards of him you see everywhere because he’s in the NY market!

Clown.

Re-watch it. It wasn’t a back shoulder throw. He lofted it up but left it way too short. Butler’s route was a fade the whole way.

The only thing I can think of is that Wentz expected Butler to box out the corner, pinning him behind him.

If the throw was good, then the route was bad. If the route was good, then the throw was bad.

Either way, on fourth and goal, bringing in Butler for his first career offensive snap to throw a low probability pass is just bad.

You can do both at once.  Avery showed against the 49ers that he can contribute in a big way.  Giving him zero snaps is maddening.

They don't agree with you

Comparing any of those to the "cant miss kid" is laughable.

He's not staying in college. ZERO chance. Stop arguing just to argue. Or bet money

Lol believing that anybody is can’t miss. Go back to the sandbox until you have a little more experience

Yeah , not a fan of Solak but butler has about 6 inches  on the db and Carson doesn't throw it high was more  a back shoulder throw. Toss that think up let butler climb the ladder instead he basically tries to catch it flat footed.

Sure it was obvious PI and still Carson didn't do butler any favors with the location of the ball

Please name someone deemed to be a good play caller that continues to have success without 9 of his starting eleven on offense.

Leslie Frazier!

He ran to the wrong side of the field presnap so its entirely possible he had no idea what he was doing

Not sure what your issue is with this. It was Hakeem Butlers first NFL snap in his career, 4th down with the game on the line and he's been here only about a month, midseason. That's enough reason to not call the play. Then the throw came in too low. Butler is 6'5" and it was easily defended by someone whose 5'11". On top of all that Butler didn't even try to make a play on the ball, at all. If he actually fought for it he could have drawn a DPI. Everything about this play stunk.

You can silver line Wentz if you want.  I wouldn't agree with all of it...but it's just noise and semantics.  Can you argue that his mechanics desperately need to improve, that he might never be good enough?  Sure.  However, the bottom line is that everyone wants to see him under center in 2021 with a better roster.  So we might as well just move on with the QB discussion.

The rest of them...I think last night showed the country, the fans, and the owner that...win or lose, playoffs or not...this is a horrible team.  It was built poorly, coached poorly, and is the downstream result of innumerable bad decisions in the draft, in FA, with contracts, and with coaching.  You can't cover that stink.  I think the Eagles are smart enough that they won't even try to dress up this pig in the offseason with the status quo.  This may be the worst Eagles team we have seen since 1998.  And I don't think a division title is going to be enough for the owner to deny that or sell it as anything else.

While teams blow draft picks all the time, the reward for enduring a team this bad is usually a breath of fresh air and an exciting draft pick.  It's frustrating that we will get the hideous team with none of the offseason change or hope.

Not sure last night showed anything but a very injured team.

Great play call on fourth down!
