I'm all for dropping Alshon and JJAW and having him as our "big" WR.

He’s a free agent at the end of the year. The titans didn’t pick up his fifth year option.

We always talk about cowboys not being able to sign this player or that, and yet they are never in cap trouble. Add the fact that the eagles ARE in cap hell and it makes it even worse because now you have a big guard contract.

Bringing in martin does little for our line problems because we still have those problems. Great, LG is perfect. Now the questions are still LT, possibly C, and RG.

Cowboys could probably win a super bowl in the next two years if they added ertz, TE is the only weakness on offense

That still doesn’t diminish the fact TE historically deteriorates faster than G. Even Witten who is the exception to the rule had his last great season at age 30 and then dropped every year. Meanwhile we got a guy like Mathis at age 30 who had multiple great seasons. Incognito is 37 and has been playing at a high level well past 30. And then look at Jimmy Graham who fell off a cliff past 30. Gronk is too early to declare but he seems on that path too.

Martin Seumalo Brooks is infinitely better than ? (Opeta?) Seumalo Brooks for next year. I don’t even see the argument there. And again, you have Goedert. It’s not like TE is bare.

Even with Martin the line didn’t look great last night. They lost Frederick this year and are pretty lacking in the middle and at RT. Losing their arguably best player on offense could sink their ship fast.

In any case, I agree this trade would never happen regardless of who wins or loses. It’s a stupid scenario from a stupid GM. It doesn’t make sense from either side but I think Eagles would win this trade at the end of the day.

You probably should have just went for 2, Vrabel.

Gostkowski is 0-3 on FGs, all in the 40ish range (1 was partially blocked) and has missed an EP.  He's really having a bad day.

Then he drops that. We cursed him.

He had some concentration drops at Alabama too. He'll have to work on that.

Hence me being all for it next year.

If they can trade Alshon to get off the books, it might be able to be done.

Dump DJax too if the cap hut isn't terrible.

What’s this about an extra wildcard this year?

Not sure why fangio wasn’t using his timeouts to save time to potentially get a fg

7 teams per conference this year and going forward

Terrible clock management

Wow really? That’s a pretty big change that’s barely been discussed.

There’s an extra wildcard this year

I’m guessing even with the extra wildcard spot only one nfc East team makes it.

Pretty much

You don't think the whole division makes it?

Frankly I’m not Sure any of them would be worthy. The division champ might be just a polished turd lol.

So after re-watching the game again, i think it would behoove the eagles if lane is playing week 2 to move Driscoll to RG. I thought herbig was definitely the worst of the 5 lineman yesterday followed by peters as the second. I thought Driscoll was ok for being asked to start and not knowing until about 30 minutes before the inactives were made. I know Driscoll played tackle at auburn but if they’ve been cross training him i think he would hold up better than herbig and they clearly do not trust pryor.

Weird training camp this year with no preseason, I’ll backoff on prejudging Carson and Doug. Seems there were other teams this weekend as ill prepared and mentally ready. A lot of teams with a weak running attack at least with their RB’s. As long as we are in the mix by the 11th game I’m saying we have a chance to turn this thing around, unfortunately this was a preseason game that counted. A few players back would help. I think there needs to be a handful of plays every game where Wentz gets a PLANNED 5-6 seconds to sit back there including bootlegs

I'm not sure how many people actually understand how bad the line play was.  Kelce spent the whole game trying to deal with Herbig's guy.  Peters was in quicksand (the team did not want him, at all). Driscoll was OK, but he's a typical rookie that needs to get acclimated and stronger.

How much did they use the TEs in the 2nd half to block or block and release?  How much did they keep backs in to block?

There has to be something else with Pryor, some disciplinary problem or a minor injury issue they didn't want to risk unless they were forced to, because he played a couple of half games last year and I can't remember anything nearly as bad as Herbig was on Sunday. If Herbig genuinely beat him out then we really are screwed at Guard and it's borderline criminal that the FO haven't brought some free agents in for a look.

I’m talking from right as they are drafted (acquired).  Dilliard showed promise and was highly touted.  JJAW was a serious Reach.  I hated the pick right out of the gate.  Marcus Smith is another one I hated.

I agree with you on JJAW his draft higlights were terrible and I'm thinking "these are the highlights"? Big and slow.

Still plenty of season to go. It's not how fast you start.

We could easily start 1 and 6

Then come back and go 7 and 2 to finish up 8 and 8 completely destroying our draft positioning.
