He is WAY too skinny.   He reminds me of Steve Smith, the USC version.  I'm not so sure how his game will translate to the NFL.

Same. I hate everything about his measurables

Poor majority of America is going to have to listen to Charles Davis

Did they really send Nance and Romo to do the New England/San Fran game? Meanwhile titans/Steelers is a battle of 5-0 teams

He's a really interesting prospect for sure.

I think he'll be a great pro.

Greg Ward is only playable as a slot WR if there are 2 vertical WRs on the outside. We have Reagor. Can Fulgham play vertically enough? Hightower/Reagor/Ward can work.

Replace Ward with Fulgham in the slot.  Fulgham fights for the ball in traffic and is excellent at carving up the soft spots in coverage.  That’s perfect in the slot.

Reagor/???/Fulgham.  ??? being Hightower/Watkins/draft pick.

Fulgham is a possession WR.  We don’t need him outside with Ward in the slot.  We have that now.

I can see him being a great pro or a bust, I just don't know which direction he's gonna go.  I feel like his legs could snap with one hit at the wrong angle.

For those with the time...

I'd be curious to see if a top 5 offense from the last 5 years (25 data points) has had a top 3 WR average less than 10 yards per catch.

He was at 11 last year.  With Goedert hurt and now Ertz and four OL out, there are going to be shorter throws to the slot.  People were floored when they saw how high the Eagles rated on pass blocking.  That is because the deep throws take time to develop and get Wentz killed.  Ward gets short throws, the X gets intermediate throws and the Z gets the long throws most of the time.  You really hated Jefferson in the draft so, especially with the high degree of 12 personnel the Eagles were playing, so who did you want to draft as a slot?  My recollection was it was K J Hamler. 196th WR by yards because available only three games catching 50% of his targets but yeah, he is averaging 13 yards a catch. Of course he has less than half as many catches as Ward has first downs.  Maybe I just value first downs and actually catching the ball more than I should.

Ward averaged 9.1 last year.

Ward impresses me, because he's picked up the fundamentals of playing WR faster than many WRs we've had who played WR for 3 years in college, and a couple in the NFL.

He's not an explosive player, so what? He's a slot WR, his job is to get open underneath - but he's not going to make big plays until we get our playmakers back and defenses can't cheat toward him. Ward's job is to provide an outlet for his QB on early downs, and make 1st downs on 3rd down plays. And he does both consistently.

He's also still relatively inexperienced, but his route running may be the best on the team, and he should improve in recognizing defenses (being a former QB helps) and finding the soft spot in zones.

Chunk plays are nice, but good offenses consistently convert 3rd down plays, whether with a RB who can gain 2 yards, or a slot WR who knows where to go to settle down across the sticks and give his QB a quick target against the blitz. Teams that have just "big play guys" tend to break down against good defenses, the ability to take what they give you and shove it down their throat is what makes you an elite team.

Ward right now is the most reliable target with Ertz, Goeddert, Sanders and DeSean out. Hightower needs a new set of hands, Fulgham is exciting but unproven, we'll see if he can keep it up as defenses target him. Rodgers has done a nice job of stepping up, but there's a reason he bounced around the league (which tells you that some of his success is Pederson).

Who in their right mind would have drafted Jefferson over Ward?

I_P and I wanted Jefferson over Reagor. But I was arguing Jefferson could play inside and outside.

Defenses aren’t cheating toward Ward, c’mon.

Do you only watch WRs when they are running fly routes?  We use the X WR to block a lot.  Fulgham is what the Eagles target in the X, albeit slower.  Now, unlike JJAW, who some of you said should play in the slot, Fulgham does have the agility for the slot.  Reagor may be solid enough for the X.  So if the Eagles drafted J’Marr next year for the Z, that might work.

Saban said Waddle is done for the year. Broken ankle.

Hightower/Watkins-Fulgham-Reagor and call it a day. Spend a late round flier on a speedster every year to push Hightower/Watkins.

Yup and catches every punt safely

Excellent point and underrated factor. Him and Sproles (previous years) were very reliable just catching Punts. Eagles hadn’t had that since Brian Mitchell IMO.

Yeah, I forgot they have the extra game... so still middle of the road, which seems inflated compared to what we've seen in terms of consistency.  They've been highly inconsistent running the ball.

Yup. When I first saw the ranking I was like🤔 but yeah they've played 7 games.

And agree their run game has been inconsistent, which with the instability of o line makes some sense, then at the same time Doug's tends to abandon the run game for no reason at all far too often

We have a lot of season left, but if Hightower cleans some things up and continues to develop, and Fulgham doesn’t fade away, I’m good with that as a top three while we clean up our cap.

Getting two good contributors out of Fulgham and Hightower is like finding $200 on the way to telling your landlord you’re short on rent.

Not sure if it’s been posted yet but DeSean has same injury as Goedert. High ankle sprain with fracture, 6-8 weeks.

What’s with the Ward argument?

A couple people have this ridiculous expectation that every receiver spot needs to be filled with a big, strong, fast, sure handed guy with good route running. Their only complaints are that he isn't a threat or a weapon, because every receiver in the league is dangerous.

Also complaining about averages when we have a team with zero deep threat and a shaky O line, so we have to throw short passes that are quickly swallowed up because the defense doesn't get spread out at all.

Tl;dr it's all about unrealistic expectations. Ward is an Avant type, sure handed and dependable 4th WR who makes those 3rd down catches.

Watkins?  Has he even had the ball in his hands yet?  He’s barely a roster spot at this point

Nobody mentions Deontay Burnett either. He's a shiftier and younger version of Greg Ward who was balling out in practices. Reuben Frank and Brandon Lee Gowton constantly raved about him.

Wait, this is not a option? Come on man way to ruin the buzz.

Frank and gowden are morons who fail to realize a 12th grader can look good against these DBs. Burnett is far from ward.
