A couple people have this ridiculous expectation that every receiver spot needs to be filled with a big, strong, fast, sure handed guy with good route running. Their only complaints are that he isn't a threat or a weapon, because every receiver in the league is dangerous.

Also complaining about averages when we have a team with zero deep threat and a shaky O line, so we have to throw short passes that are quickly swallowed up because the defense doesn't get spread out at all.

Tl;dr it's all about unrealistic expectations. Ward is an Avant type, sure handed and dependable 4th WR who makes those 3rd down catches.

Wrong.

Edit: Except your final sentence.

We have a lot of season left, but if Hightower cleans some things up and continues to develop, and Fulgham doesn’t fade away, I’m good with that as a top three while we clean up our cap.

Getting two good contributors out of Fulgham and Hightower is like finding $200 on the way to telling your landlord your short on rent.

I am extremely excited about hightower, because what Ive noticed is that we cant really say he has bad hands. His issue is that he tries to basket catch everything with his forearms against his chest. Id be more concerned if he was trying to be a hands catcher, and just had cinder block hands. But thats not his issue. Its all about tecnique. He needs practice hands catching. But thats totally fixable.

He will be inconsistent probably all year. But he should be able to improve a lot over the next few if they can get him to start hands catching.

That was huge for my parlay. Just need penn state to hold Indiana here.

These PSU DEs are insane athletes.

Holy smokes. Toney with 2 back to back sacks in a big spot here.

I think he tries to body catch everything because he doesn't trust his hands. He has a ways to go catching the ball IMO.

How can we assume that?

I'm assuming of course. That's usually what it is. He feels more comfortable using his body... so that's what he does. Time will tell.

wtf is up with this Indiana offense? these plays are insane!

Yup. Was gonna say the same thing.

Ok. but as I said, they can work on his hands and he may begin using them more. His issue is very fixable.

Sure, he can develop the skill just like anyone can. Doesn't mean he will.

Fulgham, Reagor, Ward, and Hightower are fine for the next several years. Sure if a stud falls to them in the draft, pull the trigger. But their long-term needs at CB, S, and LB are borderline overwhelming.

Yep. I like that he hasnt shown stone hands. the problem is technique. Not bad hands. Thats promising.

wtf. I knew that QB was going to run it in on the 2PC. The way those DEs have been flying off the edge. Knew he was going. Couldnt believe PSU didnt have a LB there.

PSU has no business being ranked 8th

Possibly Watkins too.

That’s gotta be next to impossible to do.

never showed another angle of that TD to see if the CB was able to knock that ball a little loose. Not sure Whop had possession or not.

Although that looks like it is down like an inch before the pylon.

Wow Indiana

ball touched ground out of bounds before pylon.

Wow.  Tough to overturn that.  Penn State deserves to lose anyway.
