Yup. It really seems odd that there would be a distinction between types of players on IR and using that to determine if they’re tradeable.

If I want to trade for someone with a minor ankle injury or an ACL tear, I should be able to do that.

Agreed. Can't think of a logical reason you wouldn't be allowed to trade for someone with a minor injury but can with a major. This is also the first time I heard about a short term vs long term IR designation. Never saw anything saying that teams have to designate players when putting them on IR this year.

I think Cleveland is going to be a better team without OBJ. I have wondered if the pressure of getting the ball to OBJ has been affecting the offense. And now without that pressure they can really work to their strengths.

In recent days, I've been accused of being overly critical of Greg Ward.

I'd like to share a very positive article about him and say that without him this year, this team would be winless.
https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/greg-ward-assuming-key-veteran-role-eagles-wr-room

That said... he's not in his proper role as a guy that the team is forced to count on to win games week in and week out.  That's not his fault, that's the fault of Howie Roseman.  Its good to see him providing what he can to the team though.  He's doing everything he can.  But, he has a ceiling, and I think we've reached it.

I don't know if they have hit a ceiling.  I don't think Ward is going to become a more dynamic receiver but he does have upside in terms of reliability.  Greg Ward reminds me of Jason Avant in terms of a role player that fits the team.  He's not dynamic but he will help the team win games by doing his job. He's also someone that will probably continue to improve as a route runner which means he will probably continue to be a good option as a number 3 or 4 WR.

If Reagor had a knee injury or a soft tissue strain it would be one thing, but if he can go with his thumb you let him go.   Being without DJ, he brings real value to the team just as a decoy

That's what Albert Breer said. On the same hand, all these new rules are chaotic so he may have misspoken. Caplan today said he's trying to clarify things in relation to Ertz and a trade. We'll see.

If it comes down to Breer and Lombardi... I'll trust Breer.

I do think they could be shopping him but I think Lombardi is just making up things.

I hear you, but it is a soft tissue injury, one that required surgery, I believe.  And its not like a WR doesn't need to use his thumbs.  That's a significant part of catching the ball.    As a decoy, he's safe playing with the thumb at only 90%, or even lower... I'd just hate to see a reinjury when just one more game buys him 2 weeks to get that much healthier.   That said, I have zero insight into his recovery, the injury or whatnot, so I have to rely on those that do.  But, those that do seem to be allowing reinjuries quite frequently... like Desean's sports hernia last year.  Johnson last week, etc.   I just want him 100% healthy and able to finish the season, not have it recur repeatedly.

I think he had a ligament surgically fixated.  I would think the risk is that additional trauma could make it worse than it was.  There's probably a greater degree of risk with less time to heal.  It's not just a matter of toughing it out.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they are shopping him.  Add me to the list who is confused by the IR trade candidate thing this year.

Putting him at LG makes sense in one facet of this: Herbig is better at RG than LG.  BUT... Peters practiced at RG in TC.  He has never practiced at LG.   Herbig has.    So, while positionally, Peters at LG and Herbig at RG might make the most sense in that regard, it is creating a completely unknown moving forward.  If they wait until after the bye, and Peters has two weeks to work at LG first, then it might be more feasible.

More importantly, when does Seumalo come back?  😢

That is exactly what they SHOULD do.

Goedert too. He might just be the best skill position player we have on the roster.

Alright  Cowboys Week....time to beat up the Boys.   They are a mess right now.   We have no excuse, plus we've been playing well in Primetime this year.   Dak is gone, Dalton is probably out with concussion.   If it's the rookie......then Brandon and Fletcher I hope you are going to be hungry on Sunday because you going to feast.  I want pressure and blitzes all day.   I hope the Offense continues to have a fast start but do better in the redzone.   Overall let's get this W and go on the Bye Week.   3-4-1 isn't pretty but it's about getting hot and getting on a streak.   We know the schedule won't be Easy in Late Nov and Dec.

My understanding is that Ertz can be traded. However, he is on IR for at least three weeks, which means that the team that acquires him has to wait until that time is up. IOW, he remains on IR.

In that context, sure. It would be hard to find someone less credible than Lombardi.

Tough sell. Howie: How much do we have to pay you to take him?

Only way you can move Alshon is if a bad franchise performing surprisingly well suffers a major WR injury. So yes, target the Browns lol.

Andrew Berry, the Browns GM, was here last year. He knows everything about Alshon, for better or worse.

Give them Alshon and Avery for our 4th round pick back.
