If we trade Alshon it'll probably be something like Alshon, our 5th and 7th for there 4th

I would drive Alshon to the airport to make that happen

There's 0.1% chance you get anything net positive in an Alshon trade, not counting shedding his salary.

Sure there is.  You get rid of Alshon.

Breaking even + shedding the salary = enthusiastic win

Agreed. Just saying the terms are not going to be getting a pick or player for him. It's going to be Alshon + asset for lesser asset, if anything at all.

Kempski pushed Alshon + 5 for a 6. I'd still do that to save 5M.

More like Alshon and our 4th for their 5th or 6th.

Just stash Jeffery for the season then dump him.  No point trading a 5th for a 6th .....

It is actually better cap wise to trade him now.

No need, no thanks.

Option 1 play him this sunday, beat a bad team

Option 2, sit him for 14 days and beat a bad team

It's a thumb injury, that if wrapped, etc, has very low risk of re-injury.  I'm surprised they held him out this long, tbh.

There's a salary cap benefit to it.

I would think that’s on both Ward and Wentz. Ward should get into his break, but Wentz should get rid of the ball rather than take a sack.

Posting Solak AND a negative Ward clip?

So, just throw it to green?    If Ward is going to be this aware field presence, etc. that many want him to be... that's blitz 101 for a WR.  You see where blitzer is coming from... you have to look for the hot throw from the QB, give him a target.

Wentz should just throw the ball to green grass?   Nah... I think this one is 100% on Ward.   He saw it, made sure Wentz was aware that he saw it, then he just ignored it and went about his regular business.  He's got to be better than that.  Break it off and present a target to your QB.

It's clearly on Ward. Blitzes are automatic sight checks for the WR. You have to turn your head because you don't know if the QB will throw hot.

The only way it's not on Ward, is if there are not sight adjustments built into the offense. If that's true, fire Doug.

I don't know if that's on Wentz.  He looked right at Ward to throw him the ball and when he realized Ward hadn't changed his route he had the blitzer around his legs.

And a potentially negative Wentz clip! Insert John Snow gif vs the Bolton army.

Not for nothing but Jackson had his man beat for a TD on that play.  Wentz didn't even look at him.  Went from Ward then right to Hightower...then went running for his life.  Had he looked to Jackson at the same time as Hightower, he would have seen him blow by the DB.

Anyway, bad route by Ward...not sure what he was thinking or if he completely missed that they were blitzing.

Yes, if he’s the hot route, he knows where Ward should be breaking to in a general sense. There is no defender near him, so it’s at worst a throw away and at best Ward breaks as he releases and it’s a completion.

I don’t blame Wentz for not looking at DJax. Ward is in all likelihood the correct and primary read vs blitz. It’s on Ward to get into his route quicker, and it’s on Wentz to not take the sack there.

Ward has 14 games under his belt, while he's way ahead of the curve due to his experience as a college QB, that doesn't make him an experienced veteran quite yet.

You hope there's no defender near and you hope that Ward is close enough to the area to not draw an intentional grounding call.   That's on Ward.  He saw it, but then didn't react to it.

I don't know what curve it is that Ward is way ahead of, but sign me up to be graded against that one.
