I would think that’s on both Ward and Wentz. Ward should get into his break, but Wentz should get rid of the ball rather than take a sack.

That's so easy to say...how is he supposed to "not take a sack?"

Pretty sure Ward did the exact same thing lter in the game, basically ran his route with his head in the clouds and Wentz had to unload it before he even broke is route

I'm frequently told I'm deloooosional when I don't panic early in the year when the Eagles get off to a slow start. Or when they're a game out of a playoff spot with half of the season left to play. So even at 0-2-1, I wasn't slitting my wrists or looking for the closest window from which to jump. And at 1-4-1, I was even slightly encouraged despite the back to back losses to the Steelers and Ravens. That tends to be my mindset...to look at things with a positive perspective.

With this in mind, if I'm being true to myself, I have to feel the same is true for the Cowboys. We can puff out our chests about their sudden demise, but I think they've very much still in contention. The Giants are the team in the division I'm most worried about in the coming years, but I think they're cooked this year. And I really don't think the Football Team is going to be in it for the long haul. But I still can't count out the Turds. They're only a half game out. A win this coming Sunday would do wonders for our season, but I'm not convinced this is going to be as much of a gimme and so many of our fans seem to think. I think we're so beat up offensively that we won't be able to exploit the Cowboys defense like other teams have been doing. And that team still has the skill position players, sans quarterback, to do some major damage to our own defense.

Also, it sure feels like I'm the only one here who actually likes Alshon Jeffery and is hopeful that he'll return.

Oh, and the idea of Peters lining up at left guard next to Mailata makes me think of The Godfather, when Michael anoints his father as his new consigliere. Who better to have as my right hand man, he asks. I can envision that same sort of fatherly wisdom coming from Peters.

But that’s what I’m saying. Unload it before he breaks the route.

I never like to see anyone get hurt or have injuries but its refreshing to see Dallas going thru injury issues for once.

Now they know what it feels like.

Do we know when Seumalo returns? If it's soon, put Peters at RG. If it's not soon, then putting Peters at LG is more justifiable.

Nope. It's been dead silent on him. I don't even think they even announced what the injury was besides "knee"

No excuses on Sunday night.

Tough ask for a QB with way too many interceptions, in a tight game, with a WR he may or may not trust 100%

But I see the other Washers have beaten me to the punch (Wentz Washers Unite!) so Ill digress

Rapaport says Bostic is not likely to be suspended for that hit on Dalton.  That’s pretty weak

Truncating your post only to save the digital space

I tend to agree.  I need to see the Eagles firing on most-if-not-all cylinders before I feel confident, even against Dallas who may have just played the worst game in the NFL up to this point

I think if the Eagles get ahead early, Dallas will fold..they have too many excuses and not enough character.

But leave them in the game and they will begin to rally, especially at home, with nothing to lose.

We'll know by the end of quarter 1 what kind of night it will be.

Edit: Forgot about the Alshon part.  I also like Alshon but Im 99% sure he was the "anonymous" source and Im almost as sure that a severe injury to him will drastically limit his play.  I am in a Show Me mood with him. Fulgham has earned that spot

Cowboys aren't at home.  Game is in Philly.

Eagles gonna roll.

Would have been funny if they signed McCown off the PS and he drove up from his ranch to play against us.

Would he be eligible though just like that if he's switching teams?

I was thinking that yesterday, but with the rules they can't.

Ah...

I think it will be interesting to see what Schwartz does with Slay. You can have him shadow Cooper, but I wonder if its DiNucci starting if you just keep Slay on the right side of the field and take that away from him. Force him to throw left.

Didn't McNabb do exactly that one time? It might have even been Carson, my memory fails me....but I'm almost certain our QB lined up under guard one snap.

Edit: Lol, looks like Tyrod Taylor did it, with ridiculous results:

A few different QBs have lined up behind the guard on occasion.  It's far less frequent now though with the concussion protocols in place.    Some players have also accidentally gone to the wrong sidelines.   In the 'Bounty Bowl' game, Zendejas got knocked silly and came over to the Eagles' sidelines.  (Remember, he'd be the Eagles' kicker the year before.)

For that, yes, but you can't claim anyone from an upcoming opponent. I believe in division its two weeks.

Actually not even sure about the COVID tests. Claiming period would be tomorrow, I guess it depends if they get the first test on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Ah... which also makes a ton of sense, plus they have the 3 or 5 week minimum stay on the roster, IIRC.

Not sure about that, but Huntley sure did.

For some reason, I really think that Doug has been hiding some stuff for this game.  Especially with regards to Hurts.

There is a bunch of stuff on film now to indicate our tendencies and I think this is when Doug unleashes all the wrinkles.

Frankly, would be weaker to me if they did, as they didn't suspend or even fine Clowney for the hit on Wentz - which was also ludicrous.

I really hope we don’t need to use these wrinkles against a team that is imploding on offense and defense.

Save it for when we’re struggling during a game.

I don't think he is. I think through injuries and perhaps issues between all these offensive minds Doug is just struggling to piece it all together.

I could be wrong though but why save your best stuff for this Dallas D?

I like that better.   And Roll the coverage that way.

Hurts actually passing would be a nice new wrinkle.

I do agree that the playbook is limited now with all the injuries.

But the point I was trying to make was that in the back of his mind, Doug knows that beating Dallas is important to his perception here, and that he'd be willing to go a bit deeper into the playbook to achieve that.

And...given the state of the Cowboy defense, those calls may actually work.

I guess the league doesn't really want to modify this kind of behavior.

Yep. They get Martin back but their line is still a mess. I'm assuming with his inexperience and just the usual right handed QB traits he will be rolling out right often. No idea what type of arm strength he has to make throws across field.
