Johnson being active makes a big difference for the OL, but I'd still much rather see Pryor at RG than Herbig.  It doesn't make sense to me to put Pryor on the bench just because you're waiting for Peters to pull himself out and toss him over there.

FWIW, Caplan said the reason they didn't play Pryor is because he had a really bad camp and coaches soured on him. Even on 2nd team RG he was struggling.

I have no interest in rewatching the game, so I’ll take his word for it.

Oh snap.  Neighbor got served papers by the Sheriff.  What could that be?  More at 11.

Nice to see when service is effecuated.

I didn't even think Driscoll was that bad; his issues were missed assignments -- but Herbig was horrid IMO, and Peters didn't even play well last season.

This may be too early, but the general consensus from the beat guys before the injury was that Peters was always the better option at LT than Dillard.

I guess Dillard looked worse than their image of Peters, rather than the guy on the field.

Does Driscoll slide over to LT now that Lane is back?

If Herbig was our best -- that is an awful indictment.  He sure didn't pass the eye test for me.

That would be a bad look right after the contract change.

It could just be that Young and Sweat are really good DEs.

No surprises here at all.  JP isn't JP of old....he's just old JP.

I'm failing to see what they see in Herbig at all.  He looks like a slob, looks slow and wasn't impressive at all.

Driscoll has potential to be solid.

Has anyone broken down Mailata's play yet?

He doesn't have the body type that instills confidence.

I deal with that all the time.

Does Peters plan to pay back his extra salary until he's getting what he's worth again?

His body probably made him look worse than he actually was.

For those complaining about how Schwartz used Slay.

Yeah, he looks dreadful physically -- but I also thought he got pushed back a lot and missed assignments; seemed like those LB blitzes went right through the area he left vacated.  I'll have to re-watch.

Young and Sweat ARE really good DEs.  I wonder what that's like.  When was our last REALLY good DE?  Trent Cole?

Herbig grading out as the best OL is surprising but the more you think about it I feel confident in saying that was Kelce's worst game as an Eagle.  Isaac, who knows what he is.  Is he JAG at LG?  Will he ever be more?  Everyone keeps saying he's the center of the future but I don't see it in him.

Again, the beat guys have NO idea how to evaluate OL/DL play. They just look at the end result without context.

They said Mailata was trash. He was "fine" on Sunday.

Without going back to watch and based on the rumblings, I think the consensus is that Mailata held his own better than expected.

It's very apparent the coaches have zero confidence in him, which is understandable given that the guy has not played football.  But some times you need that "fish or cut bait" push in to the fire.

If Lane comes back healthy, then Mailata and Driscoll should get looks at LT.  Let's try to stop bouncing them around.

It would warm my heart to see Jason Peters on the bench as the swing tackle.

I think PFF is fine, but I don't think they know scheme and assignments.  So Herbig may have gotten points for blocking the wrong player well.

Yea, from what I watched during the game I think holding his own is a good way of putting it.  His technique was awful, he played catch and let defenders get in to his body the whole time rather than engaging and extending his arms.  That probably comes with more playing time however.  He didn't bomb and that's a good thing.

Would be interested to see some breakdown to see more in depth.

It’s hard to say. Seemed like every play we had one lineman quickly lose, blow an assignment or the RB botched the play. It was really fun to watch.

The offensive line was bad and so was Wentz. I love Wentz but bad is bad and he would say so himself

I mean yeah, I admitted it was arguably the worst game of his career...
