Honestly both Slay and Hargrave are going go see their talents go to waste here unless the Eagles turn it around fast.  Both on 3 year deals.  Do the Eagles really have what it takes to flip this roster over the next 2 years?  This year is a wash.  We might make the playoffs but that's because the East sucks.  Next year I have no idea what's going to happen.  How do they get out of cap hell?  What does Howie do in the draft?  By the time their contracts are up will be the time this team is ready to compete again.

I think Hargrave may be OK. I mean I think he may be able to go on a little longer? And isn't he 27 so he's a bit younger than Slay and at a position where he can perhaps go on longer?

No offense hargrave hasn’t been very good this year so not sure if the eagles are completely wasting it.

The drop off from his days with the Steelers to where he is now is massive.  I have to think the injury is either still bothering him or the injury did not allow him to get into shape.  He looks much heavier now.  I expect him to be better next year or maybe later in the season.  If not, that would really suck.

If we were able to trade Ertz's contract, this would have been possible.  We can't afford him right now.

Fing Ertz

No offense taken.  I hated the signing when they did it and I hate it now.  You and I both discussed the money spent.

Hargrave has 1 sack and 7 tackles (only 2 are solo), no TFL and no additional QB hits.

NRC has 16 tackles (13 solo) no INT's, FF, FR and only 1 pass defended.  He also showed no effort in attempting to catch Daniel Jones on his 80 yard gallup.

Robbie Anderson has 46 catches for 640 yards and 1TD.  Low TD number but I would much rather have him with Reagor, Hightower and Fulgham than NRC and Hargrave on this team.

Anyone interested? What would it take?

I think he had a domestic violence incident last year.  So, the Dolphins probably know something more about his character. The charges were dropped, but if you have a great CB...then you don't deal him unless there is something going on.  I would've said yes a year ago, but not now.

While it would be nice for a pair of great corners (Howard and Slay), we really need LB help.

Loser mentality = Realistic.

Cant wait till all the off season surgeries get pushed back cause we had to watch them get blown out in a WC card game

Cant wait till we take a random JAG from the PAC 12 instead of getting Kaylan Waddle

Cant wait till we're riddled with injuries and with a losing record this time next year having this same convo, watching a stale offense but saying we can make a run because our division sucks.

So, if you don't want to win for surgeries and better draft slot, it starts this week.  Do you want the Eagles to lose this weekend ??

Yes sir.  But who ??  Zach Cunningham ??

Schwartz’s defense has finished with the following DVOA rankings in his last seven years as a defensive coordinator: 1st, 5th, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 15th and 12th.

Preaching to the choir on Anderson. I was the person on here that never shut up about him. So I’m not surprised Anderson got out of ny and is having success.

No way. We aren't a CB away from competing.  A first for a guy who is going to be 28 next year?  That means we would have given up a 2nd for 29 year old Slay and a 1st for soon to be 28 year old Howard.

That's how you A. stay in cap hell and B. keep yourself from refreshing your team with young talent.

Yes you were and I argued against you the whole time.  Good call on that one.

Speaking of Hargraves sucking so far, what a perfect o-line and team to have a coming out party with!

DVOA is a laughable analytic stat. IIRC the Colts were #1 in DVOA but gave up 27 to a putrid jaguars team in a week 1 loss.

The guy who quotes context-less counting stats is talking about laughable analytic stats.

Saw Gilmore is on the trade block. Pipe dream and unrealistic, but one can dream. Draft picks are too important, and the cap hell is not worth it. But Slay and Gilmore would compensate for the slop elsewhere.

I don’t disagree with that part. The ones who are struggling like jeudy who is playing down fant much of the year, Sutton our, hamler been our and lock out. It makes a difference for all of them not to be the primary and sometimes even secondary.

and they weren’t but realistically if you knew they’d turn out the way they did they should’ve been. I use the combine as a helpful tool but i think get wayyyy too carried away with combine numbers instead of seeing if it matches up on tape.

Yup combine isn't end all be all and when you have a guy who doesn't have elite measurements one would feel better if he had elite or above average athletic traits.

On tape lamb looks fast and explosive then in combine all of his numbers were very average.

I think what bugged me most about lamb and none is his fault was thought that he was a top 3 receivers then those same prognosticators saying higgins wasn't because if higgins poor testing numbers.

Lamb 40- 4.5, very 34.5 broad, 10.4 short shuttle DNP

Higgins who has 4 inches and about 20 lbs in lamb 4.5.4, 31 inch vert, 10.3 broad jump, 4.53 short shuttle( which was same as Juedy)

If higgins at 20 more pounds than lamb should drop him out of first round then lamb should drop as well no???

It's not like higgins played for conference USA against a bunch of chump defenses in a bunch of no nothing games or had bad take, he was an elite college player with elite size on an elite team  in a top conference going against the nations top corners

Where as Lamb shows up to the combine has a very average showing and he's pronounced a top WR where as those same tests that higgins performed much the same dubbed him average.

Lamb is a good player, I think he's in an ideal situation in dallas, at least for compiling stats not so much for winning.

Should be fun going forward watching all these young WRs and seeing which ones rise to the top and sustain success and which ones are flashes in the pan and fade away.

If I had to guess I'd say lamb has staying power. I don't know if he'll ever be all pro but I think he can be a productive nfl WR for 10 seasons.

Philly guy too. I'd probably do it. He's going to be cheap.

Good timing with the bye week coming up. Have him learn the D, rest his hammy, and next game is over 2 weeks away.

Yep, that's the kind of buy low talent you take a risk on, especially when you're corners are junk.  I'd happily drop NRC to sign him.

Nope nope nope
