forever? no. There are always injuries, but most of them through most of the remaining games of the season....................sure.

I've been told 10000's of times that NFL teams dont do this. It's unheard of etc.

They do.

Goedert & Seumalo, maybe.  Of Lane/Peters/Sanders, I'd be pretty confident that most, if not all 3, will miss time after returning this year.  My confidence that Reagor will finish the season is also low.

Meh both of reagors Injuries were fluke injuries, and neither lower body injuries.

I think reagor should be fine as long as he doesn't get struck by lightning

I'm excited to see him come back. Seems he's a fast healer.

I’m really surprised seattle hasn’t been in on griffen or Dunlap if they are only going for late round picks. They desperately need pass rush Help.

I think they have no money and not many picks to move at this point. But I could be wrong...

He's had 2 injuries in 4 months playing with the big boys...

Like I said both fluke Injuries. One reaching to tackle a defender after an Int in camp, and second took a helmet to his thumb.

He'll learn in the future to keep his appendages inside the ride at all times

If you notice I made no mention of Lane or Peters in my original post or even Seumalo for that matter. As far as Reagor goes, I think he will but you never know.

Yeah they only have 1.3 mil of cap space. Amazing that somehow Greg Olsen is taking up 6.9 million and he has been done for a couple years now.

I have zero confidence in Reagor staying healthy and or making any significant contributions, like ever.

It's because I have been conditioned by Alshon, Djax, JP, Sproles etc, that once a player starts having injury issues, they never go away.  Also conditioned that no matter who we draft high as a WR, they never work out, thanks to JMatt, JJAW, Dropsgalore etc......

Now I recognize that all may be completely unfair for Reagor, because he isn't an older oft injured player and he isn't Jmatt, JJAW, or Nelly.

None the less, between injuries and our poor ability to draft WR talent, I have little faith Reagor will stay healthy and contribute- like ever. And I will be extremely happy if he proves me wrong.

Maclin turned out pretty well

Mosher said Reagor got some work on the field Monday to test out his thumb. Tuesday he had no soreness, so he’s trending to play Sunday

That was over a decade ago. And it took almost 2 decades of bad drafts till we drafted Djax and Maclin. Prior to them It was Barnett and Williams which was early 90's, and nothing good since Maclin/Djax

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh.....

If he plays, how many snaps till he is hurt again? I'll set the over under at 20.

Yes.  Goedert’s bone heals and he is good to go.  Sounds like a lateral malleolus FX, which is pretty common.  (E45 knows anatomy, but for the rest of you, that’s the horn on the exterior of the ankle.  Screw and swelling goes down and it is good to go in a few weeks, most of the time.  Sanders probably shut down with a pull, not a strain as they didn’t IR him, so yes.  Lane, yes.  He has shown a willingness to fight through injury and has received some rest. Knee is probably a minor strain.  I would rest him if Driscoll is good to go.  Have him dress as the emergency back up. JP, depends.  He will miss some snaps, if he is even in the lineup, but this is a player who played through a torn pec.  Reagor just needs to leave the tackling to others.  Thumb is a fluke injury.  TJ must have had a strain.  Likewise with Ford.  If they play and make it through Sunday, then fourteen more days off, I think they will be good for the season.   Don’t think any with the 21 day window will be shut down for the season. Don’t know what Ike’s injury was other than a knee and when he will come back.  Ertz on the other hand sure sounds like a high ankle sprain.   Best case scenario is mid December.  DJax, probably done for the season.  Late December at best.

Caplan also confirmed with league sources and two teams that you can’t trade Ertz or any player whose on IR with a minor injury. The reasoning behind it is they don’t want teams to downplay injuries and estimated times to return saying the injury is minor when in reality it’s something major.

This still makes no sense to me since the player getting traded will get a physical from his new team and could just void the trade if the injury is more severe than reported.

I know being negative Nancy is all the rage but he’s not DeSean Jackson and he’s not returning from a soft tissue injury. He had two rarer injuries. How many snaps did Brees play after coming back from the same injury?

Seumalo supposedly will be back around week 11 or 12

Goedert in the 21 day window.  Will be great to see him as the lead TE.

Where and when is that from?

Ohh I know it's irrational, I have just been beaten down so badly by this Organizations' poor judgement and bad personnel moves, as it pertains to older oft injured players where they continue to rely on them to not only get healthy, but stay healthy, and their inability to draft any real talent at WR for decades at a time in spite of trying.

So far Reagor has been injured 2 x in his short Rookie career, and has not made much of an contribution. Not fair to him, I am aware. But until he proves me wrong, I will expect he will either get injured or not produce.

Caplan, today

I would have showered as soon as Betts hit the double and been out of the building by the time Betts slid into home to go ahead 2-1.  I’d have been on a plane by the time the game ended.

Exactly 29 years ago that Jack Morris pitched 10 shutout innings to win the World Series for Minnesota.  He would have punched Cash out if he signalled to the bullpen without even talking to his starting pitcher.  Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling won a World Series for Arizona by themselves.  Even Madison Bumgarner won a World Series by being a workhorse, and he never even won 20 games in a season.

Analytics is ruining MLB.  From the starting pitcher not even going 5 full innings, to the bush league infield shift, to the home-run-or strikeout approach hitters take now — because some analytics goofs measure exit velocity and launch angles instead of teaching batters to hit line drives.  It’s barely even watchable anymore.

Being a huge baseball fan myself I agree with most of this/all of this. Only thing is I don’t blame teams for shifting if a hitter never goes the opposite way. It’s actually smart.

That being said instead of worrying about F’ing launch angles and exit velocity maybe teach guys to hit to opposite field.

Add Ike to the list of returns.   Lane with ten days, a game and then fourteen days gets some rest, JP comes back for a G position and then getting Ike back would really strengthen the line.  Hopefully with Driscoll healthy for the swing T role.

Getting TJ back will help shore up the run game.  TJ on run downs and Singleton on pass downs.

Gerry on No downs.

Thanks. Caplan seems to have some source on Eagles injuries.  Did he give any detail as to the injury?  As far as I have seen there was no suggestion he had surgery but ten weeks would seem to suggest otherwise.

The Cowboys shaking up their defense doesn't scream tank mode to me. Their defense is the worst in the league, why would you keep putting out the same guys game after game when they just aren't getting it done. If the Boys start moving offensive pieces, that would signal a tank to me.
