The cowboys figure out there coaching they could be scary good  by tanking this year.

It could come down to the Jets and Cowboys for the 1st overall pick.  The Cowboys very well could get Trevor Lawrence.  That saves them any conversation about what to pay Dak and could make them look like geniuses for holding out to sign him.

I never sleep on the Cowboys no matter how bad they look.

If they draft Lawrence they will have a lot of money to fix the rest of their team. If they do end up with the first pick I’d dump McCarthy and go hard after Lincoln Reiley and Dabo Sweeny.

Honestly if I’m Snell I’m so mad. Like I feel bad for him specifically. Don and I had the argument last year when the Astros just refused to use Gerrit Cole in the seventh inning and they were winning  Wound up blowing up in their face like cash’s decision. You go with your best players there. If you’re gonna lose you lose with your best guys throwing at that point.

I feel like baseball is the one that should have the asterisk or mention the most. Like you said 60 games is too short. It isn’t indicative of the grind in baseball. I think you had better postseason games because of that 60 game schedule. I think you saw a lot of players who are relatively healthy and fresh because they were basically in midseason form . Like I mentioned in another post above last year the nationals don’t even make the playoffs if there’  just 60 games. The nationals got hot the second half of that year and that’s when they won the title.

To me it feels like baseball try to rush this season because They didn’t want to have a blank season where no one won a title like they had with the strike season with the Expos should’ve won. and the Cardinals and the Marlins completely screwed a bunch of teams with the scheduling due to them going to strip clubs and casinos then getting covid.

Well it will be interesting to see how the Dodgers do the next few years.  The monkey is off their back now and the pressure is off a little so they should play free.  If they can win another WS soon it will show they are for real and not just because it was a short season.

I kinda wish MLB would shorten their season.  162 is too many and nobody really cares about regular season.  Maybe cut it to 120.

I care, screw 120. It’s an everyday sport. And screw 16 team playoffs.

The Cowboys aren't going to get Lawrence. The Jets are almost certainly a lock to go 0-16 or 1-15 at best. They are not even a competitive team. I think the Cowboys will win at least 1 more game as well. Dalton and Zack Martin will be back in the lineup sooner or later. Firing Mike Nolan will probably help. They still have good skill position players too.

Thanks. Caplan seems to have some source on Eagles injuries.  Did he give any detail as to the injury?  As far as I have seen there was no suggestion he had surgery but ten weeks would seem to suggest otherwise.

All he said was it was a pretty significant knee sprain. I don't recall any more details than that or if he had surgery or not. I think I remember hearing it was his MCL but not sure.

I don't think Dabo is an NFL head coach.  He's just built for working with college players.  Kind of like Nick Saban.  Some guys are just wired to relate with kids rather than high paid men.  He's so good with recruiting, getting in touch with parents and such.

I am confused.  Stores are removing coconut milk from shelves because Thai use monkeys to harvest them. Sounds like the monkeys are restrained.  I believe in that area of the world they use elephants to help log and do construction and musk oxen to pull carts.  Am I supposed to boycott Amish furniture because they use horse as transportation and to work the farms?  My dad grew up on a ranch/farm.  He talked with pride of being allowed to drive four team horses during harvest season.  His older brother, sister and he rode the same horse to school.  They raised pigs, cows and chickens to butcher.  They used cats as mousers and dogs to shepherd.  I have hunted with bird dogs.  Is the coconut milk harvest a step too far in using animals for work? Sounds like some PETA thing.

So who wants to win the division even if it's at 4-11-1? Just curious

There's currently 7 teams worse and 4 with the same record at the halfway point. I don't see them as a realistic option for #1. Right now Football Outsiders give them a 5.5% chance at it. Atl, NYG, Cin, Jax and NYG have higher odds.

I'll bet these monkeys are treated like they're part of the family.

After all it's how their owners make their living.

I do - there is value in playoff experience for young players.

Is it related to disease transmission?

With Tanking this year...although some say teams dont do it. They will have the draft capitol to get out from under the bad contracts to Zeke and Amari. Thus the Cancer

It frees up money to get Dak signed, who, as we dont like to admit it flirts with with being a top 10qb.

So even with the 2nd pick, you got your cancers gone, Dak signed, still have a ton of talent and can either draft someone or trade back and get a ton of picks.

How does draft capitol get you out from bad contracts?

11 minutes ago, TorontoEagle said:The Cowboys shaking up their defense doesn't scream tank mode to me. Their defense is the worst in the league, why would you keep putting out the same guys game after game when they just aren't getting it done. If the Boys start moving offensive pieces, that would signal a tank to me.

Why would the cut Poe or Worley if not traded?  As vets, their salaries were guaranteed week one as they were on the opening day roster. That only makes sense if they are so bad that they should just be cut.  The tweet kills any trade value. That reeks of bad reporting or an awful leak that should be challenged.

Caplan said teams are looking into trading for Barnett and that teams were told Sweat is not available.

Didn’t you know, there is along line of teams wanting to take on bad RB contracts.

Nope.  Read further.  Just some BS PETA thing.  They protest animal labor and the stores are yielding.  Bet PETA loves their meat sales.

Could Barnett go for a 2nd?

MIN only got a 3rd for Ngakoue; Howie would look like a genius if he could get a 2nd round pick for Barnett — who is still quite young.  Even a 3rd round pick would be a good value.

Zeke + a 6th and a 2 to the Jets for their 4th would work tomorrow.

Why would the Jets do that ??  They like Perine, and could draft a RB at 33 and have him on a rookie deal for 4 years.

I still think it's a huge mistake to be buyers.  The Eagles can win the East with this roster given the state of the division.  The NFL has been incredibly lucky with Covid but there is still no guarantee they finish the season.  It would be the most Eagles thing ever for them to be buyers, continue to play the way they are and then have the season cancelled.

Stand pat or sell some aging veterans.  If someone wants Barnett, make that deal.  He's playing better but I don't see him playing anywhere near the level that he's going to get paid.  Continue to play the young players.  A full season of playing NFL football is a lot more important than getting 1 playoff game of experience.  I hate hearing that argument.  Are the Eagles better this year because they got some experience last year?  Not even close.

It's 2020.  If you don't like something, throw a fit, get some twitter blue check marks behind you and voila you too can cancel anything.  As long as twitter says it's OK.

You also never know what might happen if the projected starters come back.

I like Cunningham, but he has a big price tag
