To be clear, Caplan said teams are interested in Barnett, not that the Eagles are shopping him.

Should have traded him to Seattle for Metcalf.

Interesting theory. I believe whoever takes on cooper takes on a 10 mil cap hit this year and next 20

If I'm the Packers I'd rather ask about Gallup.

Looks like we're getting DiNucci

A 10M cap hit would make Derek Barnett roughly the 32nd highest paid EDGE in the NFL peer AAV. That includes guys he's much better than (Vernon, Hughes, Addison, Lawson). I'll argue he's better than Floyd/Dunlap/Fowler/Ford. At worst, he's in that range.

Barnett's 2020 cap hit for the team acquiring him is about 1.2M. That's nothing.
For 2021, the majority of teams can handle a 10M EDGE contract. Those that can't can always extend him and reduce the 2020 number.

The issue I have is there are very few salaries the Eagles can purge where the dead money isn’t almost as much as the cap value.  Moving Barnett would free up $10M with no dead money.

He’s a pretty good value at $10M, but freeing up cap space is a necessity — Sweat, Avery, and another cheaper option  might have to be the way to go.

I think this is a fair question. It may be out of Doug's hands and if it is, that's a problem.

These two tweets don't go together. Peter's says he's willing to do whatever. That doesn't sound like it's out of Doug's hands

Who knows what JP is willing or not willing to do at this point, but it sounds like BLG is just whining again. He's been playing that card a lot recently.

Honestly from what I've seen of him it's pretty much been his whole career

We he play well enough to earn "The Nooch"?

Could ask for that too. Has the rest of this year and next on his rookie deal. He’s actually a good compliment to Adams. Adams and Gallup on the outside and Lazard in the slot is a nice receiving corps. MVS as the 4th receiver is nice as well

Nah, it never seems to work taking on ex-Cowpokes. They have that taint, and stink to them that never washes off in Philly. F that guy!

Meh, he wasn't there long enough to get the stink on him

That comes from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, who appeared on the Pick Six Pod on Tuesday and had this to say about Howie Roseman's approach to the trade deadline:

"The Eagles are buying. The guys they want to trade, Alshon Jeffery - they've been trying to get rid of Alshon Jeffery's contract for a calendar year. They're stuck with him. Would they like to dump a couple salaries? Sure. Do they think anybody's going to give them anything for those guys? No.

"But they want linebackers, man. If they got an Avery Williamson from the Jets, or they got a Zach Cunningham? Something like that? They feel like the offensive line will be healthy after the bye. They're okay with the receivers, they like some of the young, developmental guys, and they've got enough money sunk in with old guys. They expect Goedert back after the bye. They feel good there. I think their concerns are on the other side of the ball, and yeah, linebackers for sure."

I'm having a Joe Webb flashback kind of feeling about Sunday night with DiNucci

The thing about our linebacker situation is that, for the most part, we are getting pretty good play out of anyone who lines up next to Gerry. Singleton, Edwards and Bradley all have decent PFF ratings, and even Riley is getting better.

So if they are unwilling to bench Gerry, then it doesn't matter who is next to him. They are still going to have an issue.

Same, I can’t shake that horrible feeling. We’ve been scarred too deep. At least it’s not a Tuesday night game.

Sources: Former Rockets GM Daryl Morey will sign a five-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers as soon as this weekend to run the franchise’s basketball operations.

I’m getting optimistic with Singleton. Bradley and Edwards, I think, are buoyed by limited snaps, particularly bs the pass. They’re in a position to hide some flaws.

But maybe I’m not remembering correctly and Edwards is playing more passing downs than I think.

One running back. One linebacker. Howie may not have to trade for either. Hell even cb. Just sign someone that is better than what we have. I think you can literally find them on the street.

DiNucci’s scouting report says he makes plays with his legs and athleticism, but his playing style leads to bad decisions and turnovers.  The Eagles just need to keep him in the pocket, pressure up the middle, and make him try to win with his arm

I can’t see a team giving up a ton for fuller. Awesome when he plays. Like really good this year but the guy always gets hurt. He hasn’t gotten hurt yet this year. You know it’s coming.

FYI...Singleton was the LB on the field at the end of the Giants game when we were in Dime.
