Jim needs to mix in some blitz to keep him off kilter.

My concern is that he plays him too simply and he's able to process enough to make completions.

Not that I agree, but could you imagine if we fell into a legit quality receiver like that?

Other than QB I focus on the WR position most of all...and from my 30+ years of watching football, I am telling you right now that Fulgham is the real deal.  He has that "it" factor that can't be taught.  He's still young but in time, I have little doubt he will be among the better WR's in the NFL

Pretty sure the main reason Bennett used to do it was so that O-Linemen couldn't grab on to the upper sides of his jersey.

That's correct.  However, it looks like it gives lineman a nice easy bunch to grab.

Moving forward, I envision Fulgham at X, Reagor at Z and Ward (among others) in the slot.  Then you have guys like Hightower/Watkins as #4's/5.  If they become proficient, I also see them moving around...Reagor taking snaps at both X and slot, etc etc .

Spadaro just absolutely ripped JJAW a new one on the Eagles practice video. He said "He's making plays here and there. More baby steps with him."

Damn

Where is that?

Probably your base set up. I think some Reagor slot and Hightower at Z would be fun.

It was just a dumb joke since Spadaro never says anything remotely negative, but its from the video above

What’s amazing with a comparison to Kenny golladay is Fulgham across the board besides 40 time and height (Golladay 2 inches taller) tested much better than golladay. His arm length, wingspan, broad jump and vertical were all better then golladay. However I believe golladay Is much faster on the field then what his 40 was. Every time I watch the Lions it feels like the defenders covering him are in slow motion. Some of that is he’s a good route runner but someone is I think is better speed than when he tested. I feel like he runs more of a 4.4 then that 4.5

The best comparison I had to him is Devante Parker. Their testing is very similar. Parker has an inch on him but their vertical, Broadjump, arm length, wingspan are all very similar. Parker ran a really good 40 at 4.45 and fulgham at 4.58.  I don’t think Parker looks as fast in pads as he did that forty time. I feel used similarly to one another.

That sounds more like an excuse than ripping the guy.

Spads said Goedert only did individual drills yesterday.

I was just joking. It's just funny he went down the list of receivers and gave over the top praise then got to JJAW and gave the nicest possible slightly negative comment.

What do you think of Fulgham?

Got it,  you've gotta lay the sarcasm on a little thicker! I must have turned it on right after that part.  I found it strange he was downplaying Mailata saying he has to figure out how to let his body recover.  I understand what he's saying but at the same time he's a guy who was able to recover from rugby matches just fine.  I'm not worried about that with Mailata at all.

My biggest fear with Mailata isn't how he will develop or how he recovers from week to week...it's that one day he just realizes he doesn't love or need football.  He's a quiet, humble guy who wasn't raised on the sport.  He's already made some great money, although he's in line to make a killing if he keeps it up.  I'm probably just scarred from Danny Watkins.

Wait, I thought he was only bad last year because of injuries. I was told he's fully healthy and we can expect him to play like a 2nd round pick. Why he needs to take "baby steps" is beyond me.

TBH, at this point I'm thinking they start bulking JJAW up and see if he can make it at TE.  The kid is a solid blocker and maybe could be a decent TE.  Better than a total loss, imo.

This game shouldn't be close. This game should be an easy win going into our bye. They're starting a rookie 3rd stringer and have "quit".

So naturally, this game will be much closer than it needs to be as we all read doom and gloom for two weeks. If it weren't in Philly, I would flip the score.

To tell you the truth, I would like Jim to spy him, not always with the same guy. I’m thinking he’ll hurt us more as a runner than a passer..

If they can canvass this kid's athletic ability/talent, his potential is sky high.  I really would like to see him get more snaps on defense.

Lol

He's been playing good.  We are due for a nice surprise.  Too early to call him "legit" for now.  But I like what I see thus far.  What do you think of Desean Jackson, willing to admit I was right on that one too?

I don't know what happened with DJax other than he seemed to be "jinxed" ever since coming back.  Sad story, tbh...feel for him.  One thing is for sure (whether he wanted to or not) he shouldn't have been returning punts his first game back from injury...like come on.

Was he able to keep a straight face while telling such a blatant lie?

Very impressive. Could not have done it better. Even more important for a football player than talent is "want to.”

If a guy can't return a punt for fear of injury, what is the point of having him on the active roster?

I'd like to see him get snaps at the "star" position that Jenkins used to play for us. We are getting very little from Mills and Parks in that role for us, so it wouldn't be much of a downgrade if he struggled. Plus, it's the position he played in college, so it wouldn't be that foreign to him.
