I wouldn't necessarily agree with putting Reagor back there yet either.  Not his first game back, anyway.  Not with as bad as this WR core has dealt with injuries.  If it's a "must win" situation, maybe.

Agree to disagree. I play the guys if needed. If a game is out of hand sure ... get them out. The business is winning and IMO you give yourselves the best possible chance. I’m in favor of playing Lane this week also for what it’s worth. There’s only 16 games, suit up if you can.

And?  So let's risk losing our top WR when we really don't need a "huge" return to win the game?  A 34 year old WR who has missed most games the past 2 years and is just coming back.?

(Which we obviously didn't since we won without the "big" return).

And coming from you, that's a surprise...weren't you saying you would rather them not make the playoffs with 6 or 7 wins this year?

Don’t conflate my disregard to winning the division at 6-9-1 with the Eagles’ wanting to win the division. It’s their livelihood on the line. I’m just a dude on a couch.

As for the rest, don’t play the hindsight game. It’s a waste of time and not productive in any way. At the time, the Eagles were expecting to get pinned back, and DJax has the ability to break a punt return. Ward does not. It’s simple.

Dude.  You're getting clowned.  Likely is a word you need to remember.  A 34 year old 175 lbs WR is likely to get hurt no matter what!  That's the point.  But if he's able to play and you need a play.  You put him there.  Not treat him like a glass doll.

I don't think nova is getting clowned.

Since 2014 desean had returned 14 punts.

Howie didn't sign him to be a PR he signed him to be a Z receiver.

With deseans injury history I wouldn't risk him at PR.

I get he asked fipp to let him return the punt and I appreciate desean wanting to make a play but he and fipp need to be smarter and realize that desesn has more value over the year as a WR.

Best Roob article this year.

You don’t think falling to 1-5-1 and 0-2 in the division (Even if it’s bad you’d basically have to win the other 4 games— not likely as you already lost to the giants at home) with 2 minutes left down 5 and an offense that had been awful 8 drives out of 11 on the night, ward fumbling a punt in the ravens game 4 days prior and needing to potentially go 90 yards for the win if ward is the returner was a "must win” situation To put a better punt returner out there? Seems to me all that says must win and basically season crushing loss

It would have been much easier to swallow had he been hurt on offense, that's all.

He did not miss 17 of the past 24 games because he was hurt on special teams.

Meh.  Rookie WR's return punts.  DJax returned punts as a rookie as well. I'm not sure I would put Reagor back there his first game back but if they did, not a huge deal.

Better not put the #1 WR back to return punts, the #5 WR just got hurt doing it.

So you put him out there on punt returns?  RIght.

To be honest, I’d prefer he not be back there. Let Ward’s below-average butt stay back there and have Reagor focus on WR.

At the six minute point on Spads today, JP was snapping the ball.

I would never put a 34 year-old WR coming off an injury on a punt return his first game back from injury.  (Other than must-win/playoff game scenario).

If he asked to, yes.  You are just pissed your boy can't stay healthy and want to blame a decision instead of the fact he is done.

For anyone saying Jackson should not be returning a punt because of injury risk, you act like he wasn't going to inevitably get hurt within a game or so anyway.  Might as well use him while he is "healthy".

Can Mailata catch punts?  He’s more durable, bigger and stronger than anyone.  Since it’s such a high risk job.  Shouldn’t we have a big mofo back there?

That would be something.  I bet he'd get a good 10 yards after first contact.

Especially one that you cant even put out at WR coming off an injury because he will get hurt again.

Jackson should not run a go route for fear of pulling a hammy.  You can basically insert any route into a statement and there will always be fear of him getting injured.  He is broken.  The guy is cooked.

Welp.  D Jax did his job.  Because he drew the personal foul, which gave us better field position for that drive.  Which yielded a TD.  Ward wouldn’t have gotten those yards calling a fair catch.  So there.

That's just wrong. <_<

YUP.  He’s a D Jax fan boy.   For whatever reason.

The dude was electric in his prime...which was about 3-4 years ago.

DJax should have been running go-routes every play.  And he likely would have been open the majority of those go-routes.

Since when are we pitting fans against each other for backing up an eagles players.

Seems some of you would rather desean got hurt so you could say I told you so rather than desean not getting hurt and proving you wrong.

Defenses play differently with desean on the field as they respect his speed he's a weapon and the eagles are a more dangerous offense with him on the field.

Rooting for him to get hurt or being glad he did so one can say I told you so is low☹️

I don’t know about that, but maybe he’s onto something.
