Just stop comparing a 25 year old Tyreek Hill to a 34 year old DeSean Jackson.  Stop.  Reid also did it with a 25 year old DJax.

You said no one puts their #1 WR on punt returns.  You were given an example and not want to refute it because of age.

This is absurd.

Is it?  The guy you bring in to be the vertical threat this team has been desperately seeking for 2 years and you put him out there on special teams?  Ok

He caught the punt and got the team 15 yards.... which opened the playbook immediately and they used that to get a deep ball to Fulgham and drew a DPI.   It was a brilliant move.  Losing Desean along the way was collateral damage.  He was just as likely to get hurt on the next offensive play he was used on.   Or maybe they shouldn't have used him on that drive either, because he might have gotten hurt then too...

Jackson has played what, 3 quarters of football in the past 2 years. The same people who are wringing their hands over his injury are the same ones who were saying a week ago the Eagles should just cut him

It makes no sense

Well, if he's so fragile to use on one play... then just put him in bubble wrap and put him into long storage.   Sheesh.. its football, injuries are part of the game.

Game on the line... Season on the line... you use all the tools at your disposal.  Your argumentation is saying that we need to save him... but save him for what?  For a season changing play?   That was the play he was used on.  And got hurt on a cheap shot.   Argue with yourself, I'm done.

I agree one does use all the tools at ones disposal and I'm saying desean isn't that tool. He hasn't been for a while,.

As for the bible wrap coaches have been wrapping desean in bubble wrap all season giving him whole possessions off and resting him, which is why I find it odd they would risk all that on a PR first game off an Injury when nothing in the last 4 years suggest he's going to make a big play with that opportunity yet history suggests hell more likely get hurt, which both happened

And that, my friend, is the point.

What if they decided to put Carson Wentz on special teams. (For whatever insane reason).

And he had a career ending injury.  How would you feel?

Was just coming to say the same.

That's the dumbest thing I've read on here in a while.   Cheap shots can happen on any play... or did you forget the playoff game?   You don't coach with the game on the line in fear of a cheap shot.  That cheap shot hurt the Giants.

Agreed.  And Carson went down like a man because he was playing on offense.  But he didn’t go down on a cheap shot on special teams...when he shouldn’t of been on the field to begin with.

Just stop it.  He had missed 17 or 24 games since he returned without returning 1 punt.  You are applying a narrative that is false.

You act like we asked him to be a gunner or an old-school wedge buster. Stop.

I’m not debating that.  And like I said, had he gone down on offense, that’s a different story.

Quit bringing his age into it. You believe TyreeK hill if he was back there got hit like that one he wouldn’t have gotten hurt? He would have. It was a dirty hit. And I’m guessing they’re still high risk at returning a punt with your best receiver where teams take a cheap shot at him. So there is risk with Andy putting hill back there even at 25. You seem to be ignoring the fact.

Again I do not give a flying F if desean was 100 years old if I thought he could give me a chance to win the game with a big play. I don’t play the game well he could get hurt so I don’t want to use him in that way. That is how people get fired because you’re more worried about two weeks from now then winning the game that dictates if that game  Even has meaning in two weeks

Also Im guaranteeing you if Reid thought hill at 35 could return a punt for a big play he put them back there especially if his returner sucked. Of course he is gonna be like you know what he could get injured and we’re gonna lose this game and the seasons over but I’m not gonna take that risk.

also William Fuller is more injury prone than desean and they had him returning punts In a critical time. I don’t care how old William Fuller is that dude has missed more time than anyone in his 4 years. Yet they’ve done it.

Again this has nothing to do with age. This has everything to do with who gives you the best chance at making a play In that game At its most critical juncture with your season on the line. It’s not greg ward. They don’t have anybody else but desean right now. So you’re gonna put desean back there because the offense hasn’t shown all night that they could sustain offense to go 90 yards and win the game. So you’re hoping to catch lightning in a bottle where desean busts one off and he makes a big play and you win the game because of it.

20 million dollars for a guy to return punts?  Got it.

God forbid the coaches put the guy in who has the most punt return TD's, the second most punt returns and third most punt return yardage in Eagles history.  Especially when he asked to come in.

If he had housed that return, he would have become the Eagles all time punt return yardage leader.

So he changed it up and got hurt doing something different.  Do you really believe he was going to play half the games left this year ??

Why do you keep talking about William Fuller?  Is he related to you or something?

You don’t put your top WR on special teams. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No, to play WR and to occasionally return punts in high leverage spots. Don’t act like Bacarty and exaggerate arguments to defend a stupid opinion.

You do and it has been done forever.  Deion Sanders the softest dude to ever play the game was returning punts in his age 33 season with Washington.  He also returned 7 punts in his age 37 season with Baltimore.

Don’t you know coaches don’t play the game of I have to Win especially with the season in the balance. They think about oh he’s may get hurt. Screw the season being over If they lost the game. Why take the risk of trying to win it with DeSean Jackson popping one off and who was one of the best punt returners of all time. No those future weeks if they lose mean nothing so let’s just hope Greg Ward returning it doesn’t fumble like he did twice earlier in the week with the ravens and hope that the offense that couldn’t sustain drives all night to go 80 to 90 yards To win the game.

Time for another EMB break for me.   The lunacy is overwhelming.

I’m actually getting excited to see this offense with Reagor, Fulgham, Goedert, and Hightower.

Right.  You do that in your prime.  Not when you’re a 34 year old, on the brink of retirement, weighing in at 175 lbs who is coming off an injury.

Am I the only one here that is still sane?

Lots of times being on the trading block is a precursor to getting cut, so it’s a bad sign for Parks. I have no idea what they see in Epps. He’s bad.

Lol. Again probably drinking so I’ll try to make it really simple for you:

—Because the eagles did the same thing with desean as the Texans did this year with Will Fuller where game on the line out their top WR (and desean isn’t) on ST late in the game to make a play

—Both are injury prone players and both Teams put them as returns when the game was on the line trying to win the game to save their season.

It’s really not a hard connection to make. He is currently the Texans best offensive skill player. they did it so counters your point teams don’t do it with their top wr. That’s really not that hard to understand. I’ll wait for your lame YoU dOnT uNdErStAnD fOoTbAlL aT tHe NfL lEvEl
