Holy Cow. The last five pages have been ridiculous. Can we agree to stop arguing about whether or not DeSean Jackson should have been put back to field a punt in the final two minutes of a pivotal game when the Eagles were looking for a big play to jump start their final drive?

the latter half of 2020 has proven to be the season of the Tatersode, not your full blown Tatergeddon’s but smaller skirmishes of which the discussion changes direction like the wind.

Right.  You do that in your prime.  Not when you’re a 34 year old, on the brink of retirement, weighing in at 175 lbs who is coming off an injury.

Am I the only one here that is still sane?

Ace, you’ve never been the sane one in these arguments.

Lol. Again probably drinking so I’ll try to make it really simple for you:

—Because the eagles did the same thing with desean as the Texans did this year with William Fuller where game on the line out their top WR (and desean isn’t) on ST late in the game to make a play

—Both are injury prone players and both Teams put them as returns when the game was on the line trying to win the game to save their season.

It’s really not a hard connection to make. He is currently the Texans best offensive skill player. they did it so counters your point teams don’t do it with their top wr. That’s really not that hard to understand. I’ll wait for your lame YoU dOnT uNdErStAnD fOoTbAlL aT tHe NfL lEvEl

It’s Will Fuller, unless he’s in trouble with his parents.

How old is William Fuller?

I can’t wait for the apology you’ll be issuing to the Blog tomorrow when you sleep this off.

Parks was ALWAYS bad in coverage.  Then, per usual, he joined the Schwartz scheme and got worse in coverage.

You wouldn’t get a 7th round pick for him.  That’s a joke to say he’s on the trade block.

You have to give up something to get something.

And who gives a crap, he’s been more injury prone than desean Jackson And Every other wide receiver in the league Since coming into the league. He’s missed 20 games in his first four seasons. That’s an average of five games per season. Yet they still put him back there when the game was on the line.

Smh.  No apology this time.  DeSean Jackson shouldn’t of been on special teams at 34 years old, coming off an injury.  Simple.

Deion Sanders the softest dude to ever play the game was returning punts in his age 33 season with Washington.  He also returned 7 punts in his age 37 season with Baltimore.

. You know it’s amazing almost every Former NFL player I’ve listen in podcasts or interviews or coached the game all said they would’ve done the same thing Doug did to try to win the game knowing Greg Ward wasn’t a good part returner, ward fumbled it just 4 days earlier in the week vs. Baltimore And the offense had been awful for 8 out of 11 drives.

BTW, Desean is a bad choice as a punt returner at this point, but Ward is worse... blame Howie.

I am alone here, but I don’t see Desean as a bad PR choice.

I don’t like rookies and starting WRs in that role.  Like Peters, Desean is a rented mule who is criminally overpaid and won’t be around in 2 weeks, let alone 1 year.  If you find a high leverage situation to use them, then use them no matter how likely they are to get hurt.  And that PR was high leverage.

Lets take it 1 step further.  WITH hindsight, I wouldn’t trade the 15 yards he got us on that PR for him being non-injured right now.  Maybe that drive falls short...and he’d definitely just get hurt this Sunday.

Lots of times being on the trading block is a precursor to getting cut, so it’s a bad sign for Parks. I have no idea what they see in Epps. He’s bad.

I don’t see what they see in Epps either but the coaching staff (probably Schwartz) loves him. I forget who but someone reported he was a lock for the 53 when everyone else wrote him off the roster.

Who the f is William Fuller?  The William Fuller I know is a DE.

Thats how relevant your William Fuller is and your want to compare him to one of the best deep threats in NFL history?

😂

Anyway, I’m just having some fun now.  Done with this conversation.

I don’t disagree with that.  And I don’t want to get into Wentz, etc but Jackson played well when he was in.  He’s been open more often than not..and for whatever reason; he hasn’t been targeted. (Or has been missed, etc)   The film does not lie.

dude Djax only played in like 4 games total the past 2 seasons.  Its over johnny, its been over

And?

If it was a playoff game or a "must win” game it’s a different story.   This game wasn’t that.

Desean shouldn't be on the roster... that's just the cold hard reality.  So, by extension, is a bad PR choice.

What do players know.  Only a guy on the EMB wouldn't put a guy in who has the most punt return TD's and the 3rd most punt return yardage in Eagles history.

Lets all read about Tim Brown becoming the oldest player to return a punt for a TD at 35.

He caught the punt and got the team 15 yards.... which opened the playbook immediately and they used that to get a deep ball to Fulgham and drew a DPI.   It was a brilliant move.  Losing Desean along the way was collateral damage.  He was just as likely to get hurt on the next offensive play he was used on.   Or maybe they shouldn't have used him on that drive either, because he might have gotten hurt then too...

He didn't get 15 yards he got zero yards and hurt.

Really, beating a division rival isn't a must win game.  A game that put us in first place in the division isn't a must win game.

Not at this stage it isn’t.  Not when your QB is playing like the worst QB in the league for 2-3 quarters then turns into Brett Favre for a quarter.

and I hope Wentz continues to play at a high level but he’s been all-over-the-place this year.

Right cause it was really hard to know which fuller i was referring to when i added the Texans part. Just for future will is short for William which is his full name.

Aren’t you one of the people that would rather see them lose vs make the playoffs with 6 wins?
