Slay/Maddox/NRC is fine as the top 3, but Dallas uses a lot of 3-4 WR sets. If anyone gets hurt, we're in serious trouble unless the DL wins on every snap. We need another body that's not Mills. Maybe Arnold finally gets to play?

Yeah, if the DL doesn't do their job this week it could be a long night for the Eagles DB's.

John Ross going in...

Malik and Lane with full participation and no injury designation for Sunday. LeBlanc out.

Great to see Malik back already. When he got hurt they made it sound like he will be out for a while.

I guess either Howie or the Bengals disagree with my idea of JJAW for Ross straight up.

Howie. We'd lose 2M+ in cap space by doing that.

Healthy for now

FWIW, Solak hates Edwards and Singleton. Last year he went on a pretty epic rant during a podcast about how Edwards is not an NFL player and never will be, and that is PFF grade was completely wrong.

Also, Gerry didn't have a forced incompletion all season before the Giants game. So how could the pass coverage get worse? Every time they threw at him, they completed the pass. The only way it could get worse is if he started blocking for the receivers after they caught the ball.

They love Gerry and hate Mailata. Suddenly their drafting problems are making more sense.

:offtopic: Does Chris Paul to the Sixers make sense?

I’d be more in favor of a Ben Simmons for Harden trade, but I fully recognize that’s a pipe dream.

But could you imagine the offense with Harden and Embiid running the pick and roll?

Eli who? 😊

To the people who are lamenting the Eagles only having three healthy corners and needing to find a fourth...you're forgetting about Craig James, who they still seem to like.

he's out with a hamstring injury

Me too.

That's fair, but if you factor money into and how fast they could get him up to speed, they might have felt the best option was to stick with what they have. I dunno.

Yep.  I never hesitate to throw down my opinion as near-fact when I think they are doing something very wrong.  And I never trust.

But weighing an available surprise vet cut against a young ok fill-in RG in the face of some more amorphous cap ramifications and schematic adjustments, I don’t have much of an opinion on riding with Herbig vs signing Spain.

Probably more truth to both of these than we’d like to admit.

The issue with me isn't that Mailata might not be playing as well as we think.  The issue is the only way he's going to improve is to continue to play.  He's watched JP the last 2 years.  Is there a sudden light bulb that's going to go on now watching JP hobble out there looking in worse shape than Herbig?

I'd have to think the Peters decision is Stoutland, not Pederson, Stoutland is the guru, and I doubt Doug would question his judgement.

Pederson may know QBs and WRs, but I doubt he'd pretend to know OL.

For the first tweet, it isn't about how good mailata has been or if he's being overrated by fans (likely). It's about how bad peters was before his injury and extreme likelihood he gets hurt again this weekend. If they think peters was playing better than mailata is now, or even playing well at all, that's a major problem because he was getting beaten like a rented mule constantly.

For the second tweet, Solak is a Fing clown who loves to be a contrarian. His opinion means less than nothing. The next guy can't get any worse in coverage than allowing a catch on every Fing target

It honestly sounds like a front office decision and that's why Doug's explanation sounds idiotic, because it's completely fabricated

They’d have serious issues don’t kid yourselves.

That's literally what Solak is saying, with adding they won't be significantly better, because, well, obviously.

Yeah I guess. I've seen enough of Mills at CB for a lifetime but they don't really have many options though.

Cuz our coordinator blows.

No, what he literally said was don't expect the pass defense to improve. But they literally cannot get worse than allowing a catch on every target, so they can't do anything BUT improve.

He also said there may be a better coverage linebacker on the team, albeit not significantly (in his opinion). So how can you not expect pass defense to get better when 1) it literally cannot get worse and 2) you are likely replacing a guy who has been awful with a guy who is likely better in coverage?

It was a stupid tweet.
