I might not necessarily agree with Solak in regards to route distribution (Reagor’s sample size was too small and against completely different style of defenses), but it was an interesting look at how Fulgham and Reagor fit. I especially like that he showed the Next Gen routes each player ran.

I don't always agree with Solak, but he puts in the work. IMO, Reagor as the Z and Fulgham as the X makes so much sense. Let them both win where they're best at. Reagor not having to deal with press coverage is a massive win too.

I think gerry is grossly miscast. He was a college safety making the transition to OLB and then was playing MLB at about 225 lbs, that's not going to work any where any time.

Gerry wasn't all pro last year at OLB with bradham at MLB but he was much better at OLB last year than he's been at MLB this year.

Schwartz expects and asks way too much of him and gives him way too much responsibility.

When Schwartz asks him to blitz he looks half way decent ask him to call and set the defense and call coverage and shed OGs and stop runs and cover from side line to sideline and he's way out of what little depth he had.

Gerry is a converted S playing LB.  Guess they like his speed to cover, but he is too light to tackle and stuff ball carriers, his biggest problem.  He is playing MLB now, since he is the most experienced LB in the group.  The same reason he is making defense calls on the field.

And that's the reason he's playing at all, Edwards is an instinctive 2 down LB, opps he's hurt, Singleton is learning the NFL, Bradley and Taylor are raw rookies, Riley was picked up off the street.

We see this all the time, veteran starts while kids learn how to play, at some point in the season the kids are ready and take the job.

Dallas is a nearly un-loseable game, but the Eagles will try...and their effort to lose it will begin with replacing both LT and RT mid game when Peters and Lane can’t finish.

Its going to have down pours before the game and high winds during the game. Up to 50-55 MPH. Def messes with our tailgating before the game tomorrow.

Point is, If Doug doesnt game plan correctly we can lose this game easy.

Are they allowing tailgating?

We park a few blocks from the stadium on Lawrence which we have been tailgating at and other groups as well. No one has stopped us yet. Only in the Stadium parking they are enforcing no tailgating.

Gotcha.

The biggest difference is that Dallas wants to lose and the Eagles will play hard.

Any advantage our offense has over a Dallas unit with a division III qb may be neutralized by the weather and by the musical chairs our OL will play mid game.

But that still can’t overcome the fact that one team wants to win the game and one team doesn’t.

Anyone that thinks a team/player(s) "wants to lose" never played a sport in a competitive level in there life. They wouldn't last long if they felt that way. No player wants to be the one who looks bad and loses. Cowboys will give it there best. Could they start giving up if its a blow out? yes, but they will have fight in them. They are playing not only for their jobs and future jobs, but also respect.

Fear of embarrassment is a great motivator.

Well that’s a broad statement.

Cowboys will either come out to play and win or lose big, I don't see a close loss.

That D3 QB definitely doesn't want to lose. Probably playing one of maybe 15-20 regular season games he'll ever play if he sticks around for years. Guy is going to be going all out

Accuweather has temperatures in the 50s, off and on rain, wind 8 MPH gusting to 12 MPH.

Not perfect conditions but nothing that bad.

I’m more worried about Schwartz not realizing DiNucci will run, roll out and generally with nothing to lose Chuck a few deep. They have talented skill position players.

I swear, some of you guys act like Jim Schwartz Forrest Gump’d his way to having a successful career as a DC. He’s not a mouth breathing moron.

Schwartz is going to blitz a ton on Sunday. That's what he does vs. rookie QBs.

For all the talk about how the Eagles defense will play against DiNucci, DAL is giving up 35 points per game.  Whether this game will be an easy win or a struggle will depend on whether the Eagles can run the ball effectively, as every other opponent has done to DAL.

The OL needs to play well enough to open holes, give Wentz time, and hopefully the Eagles will score TDs in the red zone instead of struggling mightily as they did last week

As evidenced by his adjustments during halftime of the Super Bowl to hold Brady to only 500+ passing yards. Defensive genius right there.

I'm kidding, but he definitely has made some...questionable decisions.

He's made a lot of questionable decisions and he has been clearly outmatched at times by creative offenses.

I don't think he is the worst defensive coordinator in the league, but he has been passed over numerous times as a HC candidate and if the Eagles fired him, I wonder if anyone jumps on him as a DC.

To me he seems like decent candidate to coach college. Players like him so it would help him in recruiting and his schemes would probably be good enough to win at that level. But I would be surprised if they bring him back, especially with some in house candidates who are behind him and probably deserve a shot at leading a defense at this point.

Who are these in-house candidates that deserve a shot? Manuel and Burke?

The Eagles traded for Riley. He wasn't a free agent off the street.

Manuel and Dino Vasso would be my two likely candidates.

That's my biggest gripe here.  The Eagles have yet to play with the same O-Line in consecutive games this year.  Both of the "starting" tackles are now injury prone and I would bet my house that both of them tap out of the game at some point.  There is a bye week next week.  I know Lane wants to play.  However, an extra 2 weeks off with no contact could be huge for the rest of the year and the offseason.  JP, it's just a matter of time before you see him ask to come out or he's limping around the field.  I hate that an all-time Eagle is now the butt of jokes when it comes to how he is on the field now.

Mailata should be LT.  Pryor, while not good should be RT and they should be able to handle a terrible Dallas defense as is.

Also, Joe Webb memories make this game more loseable than it should be 😞
