To those defending Wentz -- what would you need to see this season to be out on him as the "franchise QB"?

Who is defending Wentz?

He's talking about the people who aren't calling for Hurts

Again with the coordinator?

The moment Slay left the field we had the worst back seven in the league.  I know their QB sucked.  But they did have Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb lining up against Maddox, Jacquett, and NRC.

Schwartz has never had the tools that Jim Johnson had.  He is not the problem on defense.

Defense sure didn’t seem to miss Gerry tonight.  Granted, it was against a 3rd string QB, but Zeke only rushed 19 carries for 63 yards, and their TE Schultz didn’t go off for a career game.

I think there's a difference between admitting "he's not playing well this year" and saying "he sucks and will never be good".  Frankly, I think the latter take is ridiculous.

He was banged up (and only played 7 games) but go take a look at Luck's line in 2015. Extremely similar to what we've gotten from Wentz thus far. Was his 4th year in the league.

He rebounded and played great the following year. The idea that Wentz cannot or won't turn this around is asinine. Throughout his career he has routinely shown more positive than negative, despite some inconsistency.

North Dakota dad chic.

A hoodie inside a long sleeve hooded T inside a vest with a fedora. I think that’s a 15 yard personal foul in the fashion world

He's been atrocious this year. I don't think any Wentz take is ridiculous at this point. He's on pace for 24 interceptions and who knows how many fumbles.

Anyone not acknowledging his performance tonight as inexcusable. Anyone blaming tonight on the OL or the WRs or anything else. This man is being paid $130 million and barely outplayed Ben Dinucci. Take a seat.

Yes, because athletes, even in the best of circumstances, never have bad seasons that they recover from.

My brother seldom watches the Eagles; he only had two comments:

1.  Wentz seems to be regressing

2.  He’s still a lot better than Newton

Yes.  And, IIRC, Luck had a crappy OL that season, which lead to his eventual injury.

That’s a slippery slope. It’d be Wentz’s fourth coordinator in 5 seasons if they changed it up again next year. I’d like for him to establish some consistency. But at the same time I really don’t know how this OC by committee that they have designed works. Is it Doug? Is it Scangarello? Is it Mornhinweg? They need to have an official OC. I think Mornhinweg is the absolute worse and may be the most toxic influence around Wentz. So if they get rid of him, I’m fine with that.

The whole OC by committee approach has seemed to be a disaster, at least to me. There’s a reason teams don’t just bring in a ton of guys with different ideas to report directly to the play caller/head coach with no filter.

I guess I'm the only Eagles fan who's happy about the game. It's a win, and that's what matters. Really.

I also think that of the eight games we've played, the best left tackle performance we've had all season was turned in tonight. Not saying I don't want Mailata at left tackle and Peters at guard. But I think that the talk that Peters is trash is complete bs. Let's get Johnson healthy for the Giants game and let them figure it all out. Anything that gets Pryor out of the starting lineup will work for me.

Glad to see Goedert, although it sure seemed like he wasn't really himself yet.

Hope that Slay is going to be okay.

And yeah, I thought the Eagles were offside on that defensive touchdown. On replay, it wasn't so clear cut though, so maybe it wasn't the huge break that I thought it was at first. And I was annoyed at the announcers arguing that it should have been marked down with Curry in control of the ball. Sure, you can freeze frame anything and make it look like there's possession, but in real time it sure seemed like that ball was just moving around wildly.

We beat the hated Cowboys by two touchdowns. Be happy, people!

I am ecstatic whenever the Birds beat the turds. That said, they won it by being the home team from an officiating stance.  Won’t happen in Dallas. Savor the home win.

I am also real happy about getting fourteen days off.  Fourteen days for Reagor’s thumb, Goedert’s, Slay’s Driscoll’s and Lane’s ankles, James’ hamstring, Jackson’s and Leblanc’s quads, Sanders’ and Ike’s knees to heal and Carson and Elliott to get out of their funks. Three days until a not traded Jeffery goes on IR with his calf.   Fourteen days until the return of beer and car commercials during the break  Also fourteen days when Howie and team will mine recently cut players and other teams practice squads  I also look forward to a couple negotiations to provide cap relief and maybe extensions

Hope my commentary did not lead you to believe I am not happy with an Eagles win.  Contraire, mon freer.

I still say the Eagles will beat NYG and CLE to get to 5-4-1.  After that, there might be a rough patch.

You would be correct. Having said that, Wentz has been the worst QB in the NFL since 2017...or so I'm told.

Any word on Slay? Anything serious?

Carson keeps talking about staying aggressive and pulling the trigger.

He doesn't understand situational football.  There are times you need to be conservative.

Like tonight against an overwhelmed rookie QB on the other side.  The only way you can lose is with turnovers.

Dude has zero feel for the game and makes every throw look like a major challenge.

Tim is a national media guy because he can read a stat line? Low bar.
