Ugly wins alway beat pretty losses.  Move on to the bye and get healthier.

I think that's true in some situations but I don't think it's always true. I mean if you're a team like the Chargers or the Bengals I think you're a team who has a bright future. Losing pretty games can help reaffirm that things are going in the right direction. But hey so can ugly wins so I guess it depends on circumstances.

Losing never beats winning in competitive sports.

It doesn't but I think if you are a team on the up and starting to compete with the better teams then it can be a really positive sign. Look at us during games in 2016, we lost a fair few close games that year and it stood us in good stead the following year.

Moral victories. Got it.  I just don't know too many people that see "almost wins" as a good thing.

I have been one of Wentz's biggest defenders here but this has gotten way out of hand. You just cant defend the way he played.

Having said that why do you call deep throws to hightower when the wind is howling the way it was?

Why do yo quit giving the ball to Scott when he was tearing them uo in the 1st quarter?

Why do you go for a 4th down at midfield when you can pin the Cowpies deep and make a 7th round rookie QB take them the length of the field?

This was the ugliest win i can remember in over 50 years of watching the Eagles.

Like I said I just think it depends on the circumstances. And is possibly more of an end of season review type thing? Like say you go 7-9 but you lose a handful of close games then you can be positive about that.

I'm not going to Defend " 4 turnover " Wentz.

Just hope the Philly sports media finds something Shiny to play with for a month or so.

i think the football team wins this division , carson is not getting better and the team plays some tough games coming up , who am i kidding all games are tough to this squad. 5 wins total maybe..

Nick Foles just changed helmets in the middle of a game... the argument against not having multiple helmets used by NFL players just went completely out the window.

Give me my Kelly green back!!!!

I'll settle for it as a the 'alternate'... but ^^^ these are the Eagles' colors.

You can clearly see 2 helmets in many of the Eagles lockers.  Jalen Mills has a pre-game helmet and an in game helmet for instance.  The helmet issue is just a silly NFL rule that makes no sense.  Lots of guys change styles mid-season.  You would think the cash hungry NFL would want as many uniform combos as possible to bring in that money.

I'm on the eastcoast and yes the Wind was bad last night.  I think it did affect some of Carson's throws.  But that's not enough to give him a pass.  That wasn't a great performance.  I wish he would just understand that you have to live to see another play.  Sometimes when it's not there, it's not there.  It's OK.  Take the loss of down.  But giving up a bad sack or even worst a fumble can't happen.  Also we have to address the INT's.   He's throwing a Pick a game, this isn't good he's leading the league in picks.

This ranks up there as one of DP's worst called games ever.  They even had an extra 3 days to prepare for the Cowboys and this is the crap he pulled off.  Carson was equally as bad.  He was improving but not to the point where we were comfortable with him.  Now he's back down to week 1-3 status.  What the heck was that?

Side note.  I know Treyvon Diggs hasn't been perfect this year but the kid is going to be a very good corner.  In a game that saw 2 of our corners get injured while still trotting out Maddox as a starting corner and another poor gadget play performance from Hurts I MUCH rather would have Diggs on this team.

Bumping this.  Let that marinate in your brain.  We paid a guy 128 mil and his comparables are Tony Banks and Daunte Culpepper.

Culpepper was very good

Gotta agree Carson was horrible last night. So was Doug. They get a new start in two weeks. They need to take advantage of it.

Fulgham is legit. Jury stilll very much out on Reagor.

We finally have two WRs who can separate and win at the catch point, so of course the QB is bad.

This. Update the wing on the helmet and leave the rest alone.

Who has given him a pass?

Jeez Witches, what are you like when we lose?

Eagles beat the Cowpukes. #Fracking Awesome in my book.

Don't care if it was 2-0. Getting too old. Aint got time for all that "gnashing of the teeth".

Anytime "in life" you find yourself saying I know we Won "BUT" ..... try to stop yourself before the But comes out of your mouth ( or fingers) ...

It's just too damn hard to get there to spend your days playing for every other team besides your own.

Just one man's opinion. Say and root for whoever you like . 1A is alive and well.  Offend them all. Sanctimonious **** anyway <g>

Lawrence would be smart to pull a power play and say he won't play for the Jets.  If he plays for them, he won't have the players around him to be successful.  He risks being a bust if he goes there. So, I could see that, too.

Well a pretty bad team whose QB is unsigned and coming back from a serious injury is waiting in line just behind the NYJs and would welcome Lawrence with open arms.  When they took the safety last night I was wondering if they are tanking with a QB pick in mind.

So JJ is basically a healthy scratch at this point.

You don’t run away from a rookie who is struggling.  This team Isn’t making noise this year.  Get his confidence up for next year.  Who else you going to go to deep?  He’ll work through it.

Quez Watkins.  Give him a shot also.

Yup.  Bye week really couldn't come at a better time.  Need to get some things straightened out, need to get some players healthy.

1 - Reagor needs to get rid of the splint on his thumb.  The time away should make that possible.

2 - Johnson needs to come back healthy enough to finish a game.

3 - Mailata needs to move back to LT and make it his.

4 - Peters needs to move inside to RG and get Pryor on the bench where he belongs.

5 - Carson and Doug both need to look deep into the mirror and find their flaws.  Aggression is good, but only when you control it.  When it controls you, its a very bad thing.

  • Carson - 2nd play of the game, good job getting away from the pressure... get outside the pocket and throw it away.  Don't be stupid in the first quarter.
  • Carson - Deep ball to Reagor that was intercepted after he scrambled.... those are balls that you put in a position where only your guy has a chance and no one else.
  • Carson - Deep ball was going to be tough last night with the wind.  Hanging the ball up there is just begging for a turnover, because you have no idea where the ball will end up.
  • Carson - you need someone in your ear telling you to take the free money... don't play for the home run all the time.   "You'll never go broke when you always take a profit."
  • Doug - 4th downs are great when you convert them.  But, they also give life to the opposition and a short field when you go for it at the 45 yard line.  Sometimes the correct answer is: PUNT.  Play the field position game a little and let the defense handle the terrible QB you are facing... which they really did quite well.  They allowed the opening drive for a FG, and then shut them down pretty much the rest of the way.  Short fields gave them the other 6 points.
  • Doug - 4th downs... you don't have to prove you are aggressive.  Sometimes letting the defense be aggressive when the opponent is buried deep is aggressive.
  • Doug - enough of Hurts after a big play.  It takes too long and leads to bad penalties.

6 - We need a better stable of RBs.  Yes, Scott and Clement looked decent last night, against one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL.  Low bar.  They aren't good enough.  And not having a big back hurts in the short yardage game.  Bo Scarborough needs to be looked at over this break.  He's not an all-pro, but he's a battering ram.  As long as he doesn't try to swing everything wide like Josh Adams did, he'll 'be fine' in a limited role.

7 - The back 7 is weak, very weak, without Slay.  Even with Slay they aren't very good.  We need to get some guys back healthy there too, but this needs to be a major point of emphasis in the offseason.

8 - Singleton and Edwards should be on the field the most.  Riley and Gerry should be the backups.  Edwards might only be a '2 down' LB, but those two downs are pretty good.

9 - Hightower should be doing nothing but tracking deep balls off the Juggs machine for the next two weeks.  That first pass to him was brutally played by him, almost like he just stopped running.  If he stays in stride, its likely a completion.

10 - Creativity in the offense.  We now have a YOUNG, athletic WR with the ability to make people miss.  Use Reagor on the end around that they used at the start of the Giants game.  That would likely work better with him than Desean.

11 - Where was the TE screen?  Goedert was a forgotten man.  Maybe because they didn't trust Mailata at RT against Lawrence... but he needed to be more involved in the passing game than he was.   But, while he's chipping and helping on Lawrence the whole game... its a perfect spot for the TE screen.  Start with the chip, then fall off the block and make yourself a target.

12 - Where is Quez Watkins?   How bad has he looked in practice that he can't get a few snaps over JJAW?   Or that he can't get a few chances over Hightower in a game?
