And Wentz making stupid decisions.

Im saying that those are the reasons he is making the stupid decisions, and not because of a concussion

I mean I get the concern, and Im definitely not am expert, but I have a feeling we'd see more symptoms outside of the 2-4 bad decisions.

Maybe Im wrong but I think people are just struggling to understand the strange change in his play and concussion is kind of an easy answer

Why argue with him?  Heisman status is not a reflection of NFL success, never has been.

Ty Detmer, Gino Toretta, Charlie Ward, Tim Tebow, Rashaan Salaam, Ron Dayne, Johnny Manziel, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, lots of major misses on that list.

Then theres also the occassional hit.

In fairness, Charlie Ward never played in the NFL, opting for the NBA instead.

There wasn’t a single turnover against Dallas that wasn’t Wentz’s fault, regardless of any variable you want to throw out there.

Agreed on the concussion though.

That’s an upgrade. That’s where Butler belongs and Smith is better than Olson.

I seriously doubt it.

There are direct and indirect effects.

Speaking as someone who had a severe concussion, it's not that the concussion lingers it's that some parts of the brain may be a little different. I already have spoken as to the changes it made in me for a while.

My daughter is a therapist with a degree in psychology.

Concussions affect people differently.  Some recover quickly, some don't.

And sometimes you die from cancer and sometimes you don't. Unsure what your point is.

It’s funny that when I said this offseason the Eagles were ruining Wentz with all these things and that you can’t just flip a switch and be a great NFL qb, everyone called me a Wentz hater and said it wouldn’t be an issue. Now that Wentz’ performance at QB has been awful, the Wentz defense crowd is blaming everything else, which happens to be exactly what I said would happen in the offseason.

I supposed I’ve gone from a Wentz hater to a Wentz fluffier without actually changing my tune.

It doesn't take much trauma to the brain to cause a very minor impact to processing speed.  In day-to-day life, that would not be noticeable or even consequential.

For a QB during a game, it would be a major deal.

Why are you so chippy this morning

Im just attempting to offer an explanation for why Wentz is playing the way he has

If your goal is to not blame Wentz for anything, that’s fine.  From the coaching changes, the OL instability, the horrible personnel, to the way he’s been forced to play just to get by for 3 years...there’s no reason to blame Wentz for much of anything.

But if a lingering post concussion syndrome is the reason his decision making and reads are this bad this far out from the playoff game (unlikely but certainly possible)...let’s just say you don’t want that to be the explanation, because it would be best to cut bait now, in that case.

Pretty good follow for WR play, especially at draft time.

Couple things to note on both of those plays.  On both, Ward is a check down. Real nice feint to get a little separation on the first.  That is a move in Reagor’s wheelhouse.  I get the feeling that Moorehead does some sharing techniques.  Second cross, the DB takes Goedert and that leaves the LB on Ward. Mismatch for both.  Reagor is also open on that play. Design literally gave Wentz four targets with an opportunity to catch. Goedert and Fulgham are the most covered but not well.

This is not an explanation that should provide any comfort.  Most post concussion symptoms that have persisted for 10+ months after the injury will last for years to a lifetime.  He’d be more likely to improve if we just knew it was him being stubborn and in a funk.

There is no "Wentz defense crowd" but you do you. People are just trying to figure out what is going on and some have even suggested exactly what you have here.

There is and you are it...

I'm just trying to figure it out and know that it's a possible issue. I have come to the place that he has to be given time (possibly this year and part of next) but if he can't change then we need to move on, I won't be happy about it because I like him as a player and what he represents as a person but that's life.
